Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat. I pressed them for more info, but haven't heard back yet. Funny thing is, I backed a double wrap wristband last night and it shipped this morning even though the eta was March. A wristband doesn't have quite the same complex process of manufacture as a pair of jeans. If you ordered a wristband from me I could probably send you something by tomorrow morning.

Man....this thread is back.....time to do some more Kakishibu work..... jackgordon, in addition to all the tips etc in this thread, be sure you get some latex gloves or risk having the weirdest brown hands for a week. I'll be sure to get the latex gloves. I've had that look before from a girlfriend's tanning lotion and- I've said too much. I've been trying to track down some kakishibu here in Melbourne as I don't really feel like paying US$35 plus postage for an experiment that may go badly wrong. When I get my hands on some, I may try the paintbrush technique I saw some Japanese guys doing to some jeans in the street on a youtube video. It involves painting the kakishibu on with a paintbrush while listening to Woody Guthrie. I figured this would give me more control over the amount of dye I'm using, so maybe it could go a little further and I could afford to get the hang of it. Anyone tried the paintbrush? Pros/cons?

We should start a shadow Gustin site to show how many backers a given item would have if it existed. I'd be backing the contrast viridian and the moss hb work shirt right now ;-) They should have a prize draw or something where people can win the chance to have that kind of thing made for them, with priority contruction and shipping.

I haven't washed my zimbs and been wearing them since September. They also don't smell. If your jeans smell wash them please. Hygiene is one thing I hope people are overly concerned about. Since we are wearing workwear styled form 100 years ago to about 60 years ago I think we can all agree hygiene has made leaps and bounds. Why would you be a massive phoney? Because we now floss and brush our teeth daily? Automatic washing machines? Houses with heat, jobs that don't require us to be working in the mines and die from cancer at 45? I personally don't think wearing a pair of jeans means you need to bounce back 70years in advancements in hygiene to not be considered a phoney. Gents feel free to wash your jeans if they smell. If you really want to be old school and true to your roots. Get the wash basin and board out then line dry your jeans in that sweet Montana air. Oh wait it's winter so you basically can't so laundry if you're in a state that truly sees winter. Tuff You've taken what I said and run with it a bit. Don't get me wrong, I like the advances in hygiene we've seen over the last 100 years as much as the next man. What I mean is that jeans don't need to be taken care of as much as other items of clothing: essentially they are workwear. You don't wash your jeans as often as your boxer shorts or your socks or your t-shirts. You don't dry clean them with your suits after a couple of wears. If you are working (really working) in your jeans then obviously washing them once a week makes sense. If not, I don't see why you couldn't get away with washing a lot less frequently than that. Unless they stink to high heaven, of course.

perhaps the best game ever (in terms of passion and thrill) on club level for me was the Champions League Final 2004/5 on 26 May 2005 in Istanbul between Liverpool and AC Milan. Liverpool were 0:3 down by half-time, recovered in second half, saved themselves into a penalty-shootout and had the lucky end on their side. As the Italian defensive has always been considered the most effective in the world, even a draw against a strong Italian side leading 3:0 was unheard of at the time .... my italian neighbour, a very passionate AC Milan supporter was absolutely devastated after the game ended and subsequent even mentioning the town Istanbul would pretty much annoy him ... can't believe it's soon 10 years ago this happened ... back to present: I wonder who's gonna be first, Liverpool to win the Champions Leage a 6th time or my first LD order arriving .... I remember exactly where I was when I was watching that game drstrange. That was one hell of a Champions League Final and was probably the only time you will find me rooting for Liverpool. You are right, AC Milan was the team to beat at that time and they were at the top of their game. Going 3-0 down to AC in 05 should have been game over, lights out, but Liverpool made a memorable comeback. I was screaming and jumping up and down like I was a Liverpool fan that day and I remember my neighbor came over and knocked on my door and asked if everything was ok because he could hear me shouting next door...lol...gospel truth. Plus the Italian sides were always notorious for giving ManUtd a hell of a time so for that day, and that day only I say, I was Liverpool fan . I had that game on my DVR for years afterwards but it eventually was deleted. That was the single greatest night of my life, and I'll never forget where I was. I can even remember what I did the day after, on the basis of what happened that night. Hell, I even remember what I wore. What a night..

There's a disproportionate number of Spurs fans in here.. weird. As a Liverpool fan from London growing up in the heart of Arsenal territory I've always had a soft spot for Spurs. Good game this morning, good of you to let Mario get off the mark.. I enjoy the fact that Balotelli exists because I like to be entertained and he is certainly an entertaining figure. But holy shit does that guy get under my skin whenever he's up against Spurs, and to make matters worse he always seems to be pivotal in some of our most memorable losses. Ever since that game a few years ago when he tucked away a spot kick for Man City to win it at the death when he should have previously been sent off for deliberately stamping on Scotty Parker, I have dreaded seeing him in any match against Tottenham. Because it is a foregone conclusion that he will score against them or get away with some sort of ghastly behavior or both. That combination from Lamela and Kane for Spurs' first equalizer was the f!@king sex, though. I really hope Lamela can continue slowly finding his feet because it has been tough to watch someone who's so ridiculously talented be unable to really unleash what he can do. I think there are quite a few Americans who started following the Premier League within the last decade or so and latched onto Spurs because during that period the club's been good enough to be interesting but not so good as to make its new overseas supporters into obnoxious frontrunners. And then of course the team's play was pretty easy on the eye under Jol (when Keane and Berba were an appealing partnership up front) and Redknapp (Modric and Bale Show). Wide open attacking football and plenty of goals (both scored and, unfortunately, conceded) probably appeals to the average nascent American footy fan more than, say, Mourinho's Chelsea grinding out another 1-0 masterclass in defensive, disciplined counter-attacking. Those, er, tactical nuances can be more difficult to appreciate. As much as I dislike Mourinho, I think his Chelsea side get a bad rap for grinding out dull 1-0s. They're the highest-scoring team so far this season, averaging more than 2 goals a game. The best football I've ever seen in my whole life (and I'll admit to being completely biased) was Liverpool's last year. I'm sure that won us a few fans everywhere. Hopefully we can get back to something like that in the not too distant future.

There's something to be said for both. I would assume, by the colour, that the pair on the right has been washed more than the pair on the left. They both have pretty impressive fades, but only the pair on the right seems to have any crotch blowout..
I'd like to have jeans that look like both of those pairs. People on these boards are obviously not "all about the sick fades", but everyone must have a certain appreciation for a good looking well-worn pair of jeans. It's the story. That's why people buy from little companies like Gustin and Lawless: the story.
People can get overly fussy about hygiene. In my opinion, if you can't stand the slightest hint that your jeans smell like they have been lived in, you really shouldn't be spending a fortune on what is essentially workwear, because you're a massive phoney. If someone has jeans that smell so bad through not washing that if you were to sit next to them on a train you would feel compelled to say something—that's a problem. I've been wearing the same pair, pretty much, since september without washing and while they don't smell like a spring meadow I've still managed to live peaceably with a woman while wearing them.

The bottom 2 look cross-eyed to me. The saw-tooth looks pretty sweet—I'd take that one as is, if I could only put myself through the ordeal of waiting 4-8 months for it.

I asked to have a veg tan patch sent for me to put on my Zims (what the hell?). It was sent 10 days ago from San Francisco, and USPS tracking tells me it's been to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Louisville (Kentucky?!) and is currently in Honolulu, probably at the beach sipping a cocktail from a coconut. There are so many places it could potentially visit between Hawaii and Melbourne. This veg tan patch will have seen some things, let me tell you, before it goes on the waistband of my jeans. Quick update on the veg tan patch: It left Hawaii and went to Sydney, Australia. From there it travelled back across the Pacific Ocean to L.A., and from L.A. it has gone to Ontario, Canada. That was 4 days ago. How is Ontario this time of year?

It's hard to tell without seeing more pics, but it could quite possibly be Italian cow scrotum. Either that or virgin Sumatran rhino foreskin. Rhino. Animal hides from the endangered species list are always more supple. These boards are always informative.

Anybody received a jacket yet? Seen shirts and jeans but no jackets yet.. I have a black Citizen's Jacket. Just haven't reviewed it yet. In short, Black leather really makes me look like a badass I was more talking about denim jackets, but I'm probably not the only one who'd be interested in the extended version of that review.

That fabric looks amazing. I'd really like some real premium Japanese jeans and I'd been looking at Samurai and then Iron Heart, but that Oni fabric looks like nothing else.
Saying that, if any more jeans arrive in the post my girlfriend will kill me. I guess a lot of guys could say that, and you're all still here..

I would. I've been thinking about the logistics of doing this in my 3rd floor apartment. I bet this stuff stains bathtubs.

True Religion jeans are like someone picked the most obnoxious items from the denim rack at TK Maxx and then put an extra 0 on all the price tags.

I was pretty stoked to see the Zimbabwe 15s back in the store this morning. The only pair of Gustin jeans I have right now (I'm waiting on the Italy Pink IDs) are the Okayamas, and I'm aware the 2 are generally pretty similar. I backed the Zims anyway, my reasoning being I love the Okayamas, and having another pair that are like them only better doesn't seem like a bad thing at all. Living in Australia, 15oz is really the top end of denim weight I'll ever need—even in deepest winter temperatures are rarely below 10 degrees C. I love the idea of 18oz plus denim, I just don't think I'd feel the benefit of it, it's just make me hot and uncomfortable.
Also living in Australia, the value of my money is plummeting against the US$, and if I don't back them this time around Lord knows how much they're going to cost me next time. (this is good rationale for spending on anything and everything I like the look of online at the moment.)

I saw that Candiani N-Gine shirt this morning. It's beautiful, but the fabric doesn't look much like the swatch on the website, which is much lighter. I've ordered a shirt in the N-Gine on the basis of it being that much lighter. I thought I wanted a light-coloured shirt, but that fabric is really something..

efrenlopez said: "I didn't think it was possible to type in a British accent, but you, my good sir, have proven me wrong." Typing doesn't have an accent; it's non-verbal. You mean "write". If what I wrote was the most "British" sounding thing you've ever read, then you probably haven't read very much. I suppose it's good to open someone's eyes to a wider world. Whew, tough crowd. *adjusts his tie* But seriously, folks. What kind of knot do you go for? I'd take you for a no nonsense Windsor man.

Thanks for the reply.
I seriously don't know how you guys can offer the deals you do, and with all the custom/semi-custom options it's gotta be a real headache, so I can understand the need to reign it in a bit.
I'm in no hurry to receive my orders (a 14oz denim jacket and a 12.5oz denim shirt aren't necessary items of clothing for an Australian summer), I'd just like to know that I still had some control over the final details. More importantly, I want to know that I'll be told when I no longer have control of the order and it's going to be made.
