Jumped on a shirt and jacket from Apolis, couldn't help myself. Got the shipping notice, looked like a two day turnaround time for delivery. Awesome right? Wrong. FedEx SmartPost is the devil.
Date/Time Activity Location 1/23/2015 - Friday 3:50 pm In transit BELL GARDENS, CA In transit to local Post Office - Allow two to three additional days for delivery 1/22/2015 - Thursday 3:15 am In transit LOS ANGELES, CA In transit to local Post Office - Allow two to three additional days for delivery 1/20/2015 - Tuesday 12:00 pm Delivery exception COMPTON, CA Rerouted to correct delivery address 8:18 am Out for delivery COMPTON, CA Out for delivery with the U.S. Postal Service 4:12 am At U.S. Postal Service facility COMPTON, CA Arrived at local Post Office - Allow one to two additional days for delivery 1/19/2015 - Monday 2:58 pm Shipment information sent to FedEx
For the record, I'm on the other side of the country. Massachusetts, California, they're like right next to each other, right? Any other good stories of oddball shipping routes?

Someone in FedEx needs to be kicked in the junk for this. I think it's in some sort of LA triangle.
January 24, 2015, 2:52am Departed USPS Facility BELL GARDENS, CA 90201
I wonder if it's going to actually leave California within a week. The Pony Express would be faster at this rate.

FedEx smartpost is the cheapest and slowest shipping option out there. that's why a lot of companies and customers use it

FedEx smartpost is the cheapest and slowest shipping option out there. that's why a lot of companies and customers use it Generally, it isn't a problem for me. But FedEx usually does the long haul part of the shipping before handing it off for the last mile, instead of screwing it up royally like they did this time. Now I have to depend on the Post Office doing the long haul.

It cool. let's hope they don't do like some Jeans manufacturer's (we will just call them "chihuahua vegetable-grower" to keep their anonymity!) and just ignore you for a month for your bad reviews! LOL! I'm fairly tolerant of shipping delays, especially considering the weather my neck of the woods has gotten lately. But I expected it to at least start moving...

I'd be shocked if these were three different instances of a product ordered from Apolis. I'm figuring it's a thread about how terrible it is to try to ship anything to variable. heh.

Amazingly enough, only Apolis seems to have trouble actually getting crap out the door to me. This will likely be the last thing I ever buy from them for that reason. They either are in a shipping black hole or their shipping department is entirely made up of members of the Local 420.

That's a good thing, my confidence restored.

Ahh, the US Postal Service. Sending your stuff on a driving holiday since the motor-car was invented.

So the UPS tracking number was a dud, they refunded my shipping cost and overnighted the shirt via FedEx. It arrived overnight. Now there's an adventure.

Sounds like quite the shipping adventures . Not sure how Amazon Prime does it. 2 day shipping every time. They could spoil a guy.

From Sydney, back to LA, and onto Ontario in a period of mere hours. Can't complain about this because that's amazing!

Well, you know, you've got the International Date Line on your side there, or something. Oh right, that is true. When I fly from DC to Korea, it's a difference of one hour, but a fourteen hour flight, because of the thirteen hour time difference.

The post office delivered an important-looking package to my house with a highly similar, but different, address. The next day, I put it back for them to take with a note saying "wrong house". The postman takes it away. Two days later and the package is back at my house. Damn post office!
