Wore the naturals a couple days over the weekend, and they are evolving so quickly: I'd like to see a pic of these with a single cuff. Next year I think I'll pick up a pair (maybe I could back them 3 months earlier and still be true to my No Spend Year

Thanx to all of you for the informations...
If i'm correct, I'm a 12 in adidas and NB and 11.5 in converse chuck taylor so i should go for an 11 with Gustin, right?
I have no experience with margom soles... Another question : does these sole make the sneakers re-solable (as the sole is not glued but sew)? i guess not, i've never see any topic about changing sneakers sole... i ask that because the gustin low tops are $149 + $30 for shipping to my home so $180 is very expensive for sneakers i think, i never put that money for sneakers, i did for resolable dress shoes that can last for decades but sneakers... Plus, they'll ship in july !!!
Do you have any idea of another brand cheaper and if it is cheaper, does the quality will be lower too ? I mean, glued sole instead of sewed is it really important, margom sole is really better etc etc...
Thanx

That's why I could never justify paying more than the Gsneaker price for a pair of leather sneaker.

I mean, glued sole instead of sewed is it really important, margom sole is really better etc etc... Thanx Greats is the only brand I've seen that seems to be about the same quality for very slightly less money, and they have a similar, but slightly less simple, design for sale, along with several others. Those are also made in Italy, but ship immediately. The simple fact of the matter is that you're not going to find something that's not made in a southeast Asia sweatshop for less than $100 (hell, it's getting harder to beat that price for stuff from southeast Asia sweatshops). Regarding the sole, they're glued and sewn, if I remember the process correctly, and the leather is skived pretty much up to the stitch line. They may be resoleable, but I don't know how well they would come through it. I believe it's the same with all sneakers based on a cup sole. I have a pair of Cole Haan sneakers that are a similar design. I wear them at least once or twice a week, and I've had them running on five years or so. With a high quality leather, a good rubber sole, and reasonable care, I have no doubts that the Gustin sneaker, and those like them, would perform just as well. If they're your everyday shoe, though, they obviously won't last as long. Also, for what it's worth, there's some discussion over on styleforum about the quality of the white leather. From what I've seen with white leather, it's not out of line with what I would expect. I don't think you can bleach it without destroying the leather, and I don't think you can dye something white, so the only thing I can think of is some variation on painting the color on, which would mean the color is less durable than something, say, dyed black.

I wear 11 in chucks, and the 11 in greats fits me just fine. Greats and Gustin both use the margom sole so you should be good with size 11.

There's a reason why they're offering them for so cheap. They're like Kia and Hyundai of the early 2000s. They had so many bad reviews that they are trying to win customers back by slashing prices and offering a great return policy 100% return with 20% store credit. I'm going to stay firmly on the fence until 6 month/12 month reviews start popping out for these.

I like the look of the reviewed ones, the picture on this thread here looks like a really uncomfortable shoe. I would consider buying the ones linked, I wouldn't touch the shoes shown here.

The other guy, PsychoWorld who has posted two FMF posts about BS, also only did an initial impression. This has all turned out to be sales pitchy/guerilla marketing. After an initial impression, the latter guy has apparently become the BS spokesperson for FMF. This all seems a tad bit shady. Great deal, no doubt, with little apparent risk, unless the owner of BS turns out to be Roman incarnate.

Ok, i just give a try to Beckett Simonon black ones... I'll tell you Ready to ship (they have some pairs left from their kickstarters campaingn), very rapid and friendly communication with the co-owner, $89 !!!, Made in Portugal (better for me as i'm from France ;-) and portugal is a famous place in Europe for cheapest and good etxtil workers), really like the design...

You think it's better to go small or large on BS sizes?

So I got these a few days ago. Overall, I like them a lot. Haven't tried them on yet, but from initial impressions. But these wouldn't be made by Gustin, if there wasn't at least one issue with them. G continuing their motto of, "Always one step away from a complete product." But overall, they look really good. Album.

Agree, that is annoying...but probably not something that ultimately matters. Once they're stretched around the contour of your foot it may not be very noticeable...not to mention you probably wear down the inside or outside of the sole at different rates...so with wear it will be even less apparent. Like you said...wouldn't be G without some issue.

Man my sneakerhead ocd would get to me and I agree that my jeans would cover it....but I wish they would just stock in store cause I would pay an extra ten bucks not to wait hecka months
