So what is the sum of sizing the sneaker? Could people say their size in converse and then Gustins that would help since we all have a pair of converse. And please state if they are all-stars/varvatos/purcells/premium/etc I haven't owned a pair of Converse for probably 10 years.

SF folks said it was similar to converse, but none of them really say which converse it is. I was concerned about toebox width as I got wide feet but one guy said it works for him. I saw some CP trainers (SF folks say its comparable) this past weekend and their is no way for me to fit those narrow widths. So I'm confused now about what that person considers wide as I don't have the same definition haha.

Well Griffin, those are certainly far far darker than their site show. Almost look like a totally different show. It's high time for @joshgustin to employ a real photographer.

I think they took so long to make so they started getting patina. Im not kidding. Remember the natural sneaker vs the a little older one vs the sienna!

I prefer how these ACTUALLY look to the tan that Gustin shows, actually. I thought it would be the opposite, but no...these are gorgeous.

Thanks! The knots are actually like not flat and you can feel them they come down a couple mm in the knots and cracks so it creates a cool structure and it really really looks like wood and not at all plastic!!!

Wait, Griffin, did YOU put the nicks and dark patches in the shoes from wear, or did they come like that?

I'm actually tempted the next time these roll around. $199 seems to be a steal on these if they show up without flaws. I'm not a huge speedhook fan (i prefer to skip the top hole and wrap the laces around the ankle), but I think I could deal with them.

Wait, Griffin , did YOU put the nicks and dark patches in the shoes from wear, or did they come like that? No sorry I was talking about the floor being very alive. And no I didn't do anything to the shoes apart from the surface scratches you see. They actually appear somewhat lighter IRL, but I think this natural leather doesn't stay light for long so if they are laying about in the shoe-shop for months before being finnished and shipped they will darken just by that amount of time methinks.

They are way too narrow and also set wrong so the laces wont cross like they should making them snail-hooks and I have to redo them sometimes because of the failure here.. If I could I would pop off every other-one of them. But they might be better when the laces aren't as flat anymore but still, typical G to create a problem where I have never had one before regardless of price.

Looking at those speedhooks again, I think they would drive me nuts . . . they're so close together that they can hardly be functional. Seems like if they dropped one set and spread the other three out, it would work a lot better.

Those speedhooks are awful and that natural is insanely dark.
I really don't like most of the natural boots out there. I'd much prefer a straight vegetable tanned natural like the Essex or Herman Oaks etc

Those natural high tops keep tempting me. Think I'll take a flyer--I love the black ones. Best thing I've ever gotten from G.

Black would probably be more versatile but maybe if I don't like the naturals when they come I'll exchange them for blacks.

Since the snow disapeared around where I live I couldn't wait for some catspaw or superduper sole maker to appear so I just went into the most common place there is: Mister Minit who also makes keys and has been around since I were a kid and probably ripped me off but I thought - hey - I can just resole if these fall off. I'm pleased with the result, it was pretty decent made, not the best but far from the worst. No nails just pounding it in place and a good well done grinding off the edge. I chose the medium rugged one witch is still thin and nice. Pretty funny that they have the mister minit guy as icon on the soles haha. I asked if he could sole them and he just said yeah. So I asked about hey what about the waxing r u sure? And he said well you see we have to grind off a bit anyways so its all good man. So I said do it, but r u gonna go through the sewing, don't go through it that's no good, and he said lol no...and even if I do its never gonna fall apart its impossible, but lol im not gonna go through, although I have to take off a kind of a big part - so I said: -ill be back in half an hour and you should be done by then aight? So he was like...weeel its gonna take an hour at least I have another pair I have to finish up, so I was like -lol im busting your balls, Ill be back in 2 hours.

Thanx. i measure a 9D on a brannock, wear 9.5 in NB and Adidas, 9 in most dress shoes. Boots range from 8-9 depending on the maker. when i sent that information to gustin they advised i go with a size 8 in their low sneaker. it works, but i really wish they had half sizes. they fit relatively well with thin socks, anything remotely thicker and they feel pretty snug. i imagine to get some stretch over time. if i was ordering them again i'd get the same size as i think a full size up would be too long (but probably a better width) they use the same margom sole as several other sneakers, so you can probably find some other reference points re: sizing as well.

If you have any other shoes with a Margom sole, these should fit true to that size. Mine have been definitely worth the price for the 2 pair of high tops (black/white and natural). Have a pair of white/green lowtops coming soon.
