My daily pair has been my 15oz zimbs. Aweskme denim. They don't fade like traditional indigo more of a tarnished fade. I dog them. I'm not a believer of paying more for zimb cotton now. Doesn't really feel that much different. I'm confused. "They don't fade like traditional indigo""Tarnished fade" (good discription) But "doesn't really feel different" That's the reason many like them! And pay more.

You don't get a white show through like other denim fades have. Like say the loomstate or the 26oz.
I can't tell the difference between zimbs and other cottons in jean form at least. Pima cotton shirts 100% yes. Even the cone Pima fires have an interesting feel.

We will see how these Zloomie's come out, but, I am pretty much done with Gustin. Especially when I live 5-10 minutes from BiG and Self Edge and get sized right and not wait 3 months. What bothers me, is I can't get a staple denim from them. If I want a ~14.0oz of Japanese or American Denim, I just can't get one -- plus basically only one pair fits in that catergory, Okayama Standards which are not easy to get... Think I'm just going to go pick a pair of the original 3sixteens ST-100x as my staple denim. Will look towards Oni for something unique or mid-weight. Wish Samurais had more choice in slimmer tapers. The one exception is that I might get a new pair of Grey Silks, I got mine in straight and the wrong size, then I damaged them when the iron was too hot. Ironically my favorite denim from them recently has been the Cone Quick Fades, was really surprised by them. Love the feel and color, and surprisingly, these have the least indigo staining/transfer to other things I have had yet... which ones do you own by Gustin? Kickstarter: - American Standard
- Japanese Heavy
- Japanese Standard
#65 The Jade #72 The Grey Silk #39 The Blue Line2 #138 Charcoal Organic Hemp #27 The Heavy American #195 Italy Pure Indigo Silk The Cone Quick Fade #211 Zimbabwe Loomstate However, with the exception of the Cone Quick Fade and Zloomies, all of them don't fit me well. The Pure Indigo Silk and Heavy American I can get buy with, but, still way too loose in the waist. I lost about 15lbs, also, I started buying denim before the Slim Fit existed as well. I ruined a few pairs as well.

It's no secret that I absolutely love my Grey Silks, and am waiting very patiently for my Japan Indigo Silks.

I have a pair of Cone Blue Lines that are still my favorite daily jeans. It's a good denim that's soft and fades pretty well. They're not Gustins, none of Gustins fits work for me. I like my Okayamas, but they've been hot wahsed into a fit between their slim and straight.

Oh, and how about some denim porn of those quick fades? Everyone is being so stingy with the denim porn lately.

Oh, and how about some denim porn of those quick fades? Everyone is being so stingy with the denim porn lately. They are falling off my waist due to losing weight, probably 3-4 sizes too large. I Can easily fit two whole whole hands (turned out) in the waist. Secondly, most of them are straight cuts, I now prefer the slim. Or I butchered/destroyed a couple pairs. I will post shots of the Quick Fades, but have only had them for 3 wears so far, will do a before/after. They are also too big, but, not crazy big.

Just pulled my Zoomies out of the mailer. The waist is closer to a 34 than the 36 I ordered. A few other measurements were below spec which was fine by me (cuff and inseam). I wasnt excited opening the package and I was expecting to be disappointed, but after handling them, I'm pleasantly surprised. It will be a while before I can soak these but I think that I'm going to enjoy these.

I tried the z loomstates on again and wore them around a bit today after they have fully dried, and I have to give them a big thumbs up! They shrank up just a hair more for a perfect fit in the waist. Was it wearing them into the tub? I'm lucky I got them in the size I did. I'll definitely order one more pair in a different loomstate denim if they offer that again

I'll have to post an updated picture of my original zimbs later. Around 370 wears and two washes... probably have one of the more worn pairs. I lost a bit of weight and never wore my KingZimbs due to not fitting very well anymore.

Finally getting around to soaking my Zoomies. These are 36 Straights
Presoak Waist 17.25 Front Rise 11.25 Back Rise 14.00 Thigh (2") 12.50 Knee 9.50 Hem 8.88 Inseam 35.50
I'll be back later with post soak numbers

Postsoak Waist 17.12 Front Rise 10.50 Back Rise 13.25 Thigh (2") 12.00 Knee 9.25 Hem 8.50 Inseam 32.50
They shrank more than I thought while I was wearing them. The patch is all puckered out because the denim it was sewn to shrank behind it. I'm going to contact Gustin and see if I can't get a veg tan patch which is what this denim deserves.

wow! 3" shrink in the inseam, good thing I returned my zoomies.
The waist, rise and thigh seem okay, but the knee and hem are huge!
this is troubling for the 36 slims loomies I have on order.

Damn, after reading earlier posts, I was worried about the presoak inseam of my Zoomies being too short, but when I got them I felt better--its at least 1.5" longer than a standard Gustin inseam...but 3" of shrinkage is going to be way too much for me.
Can I like clamp bricks to the bottom of the jeans while they hang dry or some shit? Uhh, asking for a friend.

Honestly I would stretch them if possible.

I haven't done it but you might be able to find it (and who) if you search the forum for "weights".

Even hanging them upside down by the legs will help mitigate a bit of shrink due to the weight of the top block

From the "beloved sponsors" post on putthison.com today: "Gustin has some new jeans coming out for the cooler months. Made from a hefty 18oz Zimbabwe denim, the heavier fabric will not only yield sharper fades, it’ll also keep you warmer during the winter season." Papa zimbs about to re-drop?

They can't drop heavyweight items until Winter to ensure Spring delivery.
