Anyone have a feeling the City Coat will not be released again? I'm getting the same feeling from the Work Shirt. Might be very few if any released. Bold prediction. Don't see the City Coat coming back. Josh over at Style Forum posted that they would be coming out soon with a couple WS's. One was going to be a Heavy Linen blend.

Lots of RD wasted. Heavy linen seems a bit...odd.

I just think they're considering the workshirt a "colder months" item since they tend to release it in heavier fabrics, or they've gone back to sampling it. I think it's too successful to cut out entirely. I hope the City Coat is being reworked a bit since I'd love to see a canvas iteration more suited to my taste, though the design seems like it would be more suited for a lighter fabric where the lapel can be pressed flat (instead of the "three-dimensional" look of the lapel on the heavier versions. They look pretty decent collar-popped, though. If it had been designed with welted pockets, I probably would have picked up the canvas one.

While the type of linen you'll see in a shirt won't stand heavy wear, it should be mentioned that one of linen's original roles in clothing was as body armor. I would probably buy a WS if it was made to that standard ;-)

One pair of black linen pants I have is tough as nails (for a cloth), yet rather light and "delicate" at the same time. It also breathes really well. One thing about linen, it wrinkles if you just look at it. And, it's a bitch to iron them out. Best trick is to place a damp cotton T-shirt on top of it, and dry iron on high heat. It gets the wrinkles out much faster/better, and avoids the chance of one scorching the fabric (hence creating a sheen on it). Been there, done that.

I'm talking real linen here, as in flax seed fiber. Not cotton woven in a linen fashion.

Waist on the J17s has stretched, thighs, seat, are okay, but the crotch area, and above is still so tight.
So weird

My tailor actually pointed it out. Like water marks or something on the pants. Some parts have lines on them kinda like a water stain.

Did you notice any markings? I'm going to have to go home and check. Where exactly on the chinos did you see water stains? And are we talking stains after a wash or it came like that?

Straight from Gustin. I didn't wash mine at all or wear even. I just looked at the fabric around the hips is where I first noticed it but I don't think it matters.

And if you did, you didn't wash them before hemming?
