Thoughts on their shirt offerings, especially the chambray options? The Crew slim button-downs/henleys are some of my go-to pairs that work well with my selvedge denim. I recently picked up the black chambray one-pocket shirt, which is backordered to early November. At the speed of shipping from JCrew, perhaps I should've backed a chambray from Gustin (it would arrive sooner, lol).

I've read good things about them, but could never find one in my size to try... I see them on the Bay sometimes, so have a look there.

JCrew has some awesome deals, especially if you take advantage of the sale or factory offers. When I was living in Raleigh, one of my friends lived in Lynchburg, VA and worked for JCrew - they have a corporate store that they resell all their returns. Some may be "defective" but any of those are minute. I used to get 50% off of sale and 30% off of regular. One benefit of dating her sister...lol, lost that deal when I broke up with her.

The denim workshirt is on sale in their factory store for $35. Hmmm, not Lawless or Gustin heavy, but not a bad option.

Hmmm, not Lawless or Gustin heavy, but not a bad option. i'd say it's worth $35 for the weight, construction, and comfort. it's made overseas (china iirc) and isn't raw, so won't get as much character over time, but it'll be a great beater shirt that still looks good. wore mine the other night to help install an art exhibit.

I would think about these exactly for that purpose. Been debating the chambray workshirt as well from the Crew. I'm between that and the chambray "workshirt" (using quotes since it doesn't have the triple stitching of the denim version) for $27. Maybe I'll just buy both.

It's like the GAP shirts I got. Amazingly nice for $30-$35. Great for stuff you don't need to worry about.

I was roaming in the Factory side of things, not sure I saw a 3XLT, but they do have tall options on that side (no Wallace & Barnes however).

i would have to absolutely love something to buy it at full price there. they have sales and stacking % off codes pretty regularly, bringing items down into an acceptable range.

But if I (we) can get customs from the likes of LD for under $100, it's no-brainer. I only go for this stuff if it's at a huge discount - like RRL, etc.

anybody have any experience with the J. crew broken in Tees? What do you want to know Ickes? They are super soft, decently made (all things considered) and feel slightly more substantial than the Urban Outfitters heathered t-shirts (my best point of reference). Side referral - the slim fit marled henley is super soft and way more slim fitting than the pic implies.

ickes, i have a couple j.crew tees and like them quite a bit. they fit me and hold their shape well. the only problem i've had with them is some pilling of the fabric after 10-12 months of wear...but not bad for the price i typically pay for them (on sale). matt...that henley looks nice. wish it was about 15-20 cheaper.

I picked it up last week with the 25% coupon. I tend to not pick up anything full price at JCrew, especially after having a friend who worked for the Crew (discounts).

thanks david and Matt. are they an athletic/slim type fit or are they boxy? Also, I'm real particular about the collars on my Tees (may sound weird I know), so are the collars high and tight with a small circumference that stays close to the neck? or are they low, loose collars that show a little chest? I prefer mine high and tight.

ickes not very boxy, though I do think they may have a regular cut and a slim cut. The collar isn't really high/tight, but not loose gaping either. I don't like necks that are really close to the neck... I'd say it's a good middle ground.

I've been buying "NWT" J Crew Ludlow slim dress shirts off the 'bay for a long time. Best deal ever and you can usually get them for 30 bucks or so. The sale page items and Factory stuff can be well priced.
Full price is a bit much though...unless I love something

I've got a few of the Thomas Mason shirts. Not bad. Never, never pay full price though.

Big fan of Jcrew. Been shopping there a while. No chambray but I do have a few of the heavy flannels. Soft and warm. Not a huge fan of cheaper plastic buttons but it is ok.
Currently have Wallace and Barnes tweed shirt very nice solid heavy tweed. W&B CPO on order Jcrew field shirt in khakis few flannels. I wear a medium and they are nice and fitted. Not an over shirt at all.
