all of my J Crew shirts are thrifted and the fit works great for me. I've got about 3 lightweights (one of which is a red chambray) and a couple of heavier OCBD's. the lightweights are my warm weather shirts and they're perfect for 60/70 degree weather. i've wanted to buy the field shirt in khaki but I guess I have a hard time paying full retail for it.

Just got in the mail. Jcrew Wallace and Barnes.
CPO 83%wool 17%nylon Anchor buttons Only two pockets.
Got a size medium and it fits amazing. Big enough to be a jacket or an over shirt not too slim of a fit. I love it. Really hope I can get the W&B burgundy over shirt for the same price. Awesome piece too with hand pockets.

Picked up 2 more J Crew OCBD's from the thrift store. I also took advantage of the 40% off sale and picked up the sherpa lined skiff jacket from the JCrew site

Heres & Navy Wallace & Barnes shirt that retailed for $190 but was on sale for $70 plus 30% off. The fit on this is great. I wear XL in most my shirts but this is a Large that fits bigger. I have a few flannels from Wallace & Barnes that are quite heavy but also super comfy to wear. Jcrew Wallace & Barnes is definitely stepping their game up a bit but like anything you need to buy at the right time because they are over priced for sure

I'm surprised that W&B is made in China.

I think the way it is laid down is making it look like that.

interesting. I could be persuaded to check one of these boots out if they were discounted. I agree that the brick sole ruins the look of the shoe, but my assumption is that it was a cost saving measure on J.Crew's part. They could easily be switched out for a commando sole or leather sole from B.Nelson

also interesting how certain items magically disappear from the J.Crew website. I had been waiting for the khaki field shirt to go on deep discount and now all of a sudden it's gone. I check their site regularly and either I missed it being on sale or they yanked it outright. b@lls

anybody have any experience with the J. crew broken in Tees? The true answer for their quality is: it depends, because Jcrew quality control is vastly crummier than costlier brands - this is especially true for Jcrew Factory offerings. Some of my shirts from a single order are just different colors of the same shirt from the same season, and from one to the next the fit or length of the shirt is just not the same as the others. Once I've even had a terribly placed chest pocket on a pocket tee, and a side seam that was so far from being straight and natural that it looked stupid to wear (should have returned it). In the past two years, I have had about 20 between Jcrew, Jcrew Factory, and the Wallace & Barnes offerings. I will not order Factory tees again, but will gladly buy normal Jcrew tees in the future. The Wallace & Barnes Skivvy Tee is the best tee I've ever had, and even at ~$50 (and pretty much never able to be had with a discount code or promo, often sold out) it trumps most of the $40+ tees I've ever felt or tried on in menswear boutiques. It should be said that the Skivvy Tee is a much lighter, thinner, and infinitely softer material than the broken in tees - but I can't help thinking they're infinitely better as well. They're a great fit, especially if you're at all toned or remotely athletic, as the sleeves are shorter and more fitted than my broken in slim tees. I've also got the W&B Athletic Tees, but am not nearly as charmed by them. They're also so much more substantial a tee than the others, which is actually a negative for me here in Texas. They're soft and have a pretty good fit, but I'm always going to reach for a softer and lighter shirt than them on any given day that's above 85 degrees (which most of our days are). I am slim, but not athletic/toned/built. For me, the slim option on tees that offer it is a must. You can really luck out from time to time and get some really interesting materials among the Jcrew tee offerings(changes vastly per season). I tend to prefer heathered, flecked, marled, etc type tees as opposed to solid plain colors, and they've been getting pretty neat stuff the past couple years. Fall just isn't really the greatest time to be shopping them, as the selection is obviously less than stellar

Just got a winterweight flannel and a sweater from jcrew factory - thanks Bugala!
The shirt is great as is the sweater. Highly recommend both for around $40 each. Can't go wrong IMO.

bugula; just copped a factory indigo denim work shirt and a factory black chambray work shirt for 57.00 total! Including tax and shipping. Smoking deal. This will finally give me a chance to try out the J. Crew work shirts. I've been skeptical of J. Crew work shirts but heck, 57.00 for two....you can't beat it.

Hmmm...you're making me think I should pick up the gray and indigo chambrays. I already grabbed a tweed workshirt, two winterweights, and one of the wool workshirts with elbow pads. $150. Crazy effing deals.
