I love Jcrew it's not a secret.
Solid 30% off sale right now.
Picked up the Italian cotton caspian blue sportcoat in 42R $159 free shipping.
I'm going through my sportcoats and suits selling ones I don't wear anymore. Hopefully this fits in perfectly for me. Casual but not super casual.

I like J.Crew even better when I find their shirts at the thrift store for $5-7. Aside from my W&B wool skiff jacket, which I got at 40% off, I can't think of another time where I actually spent money in their store. I do like their selection of stuff though

They do some good sales. 30% off brings the price to where I want to be. $159 for an Italian cotton unlined, deconstructed sports coat is pretty good.

The deal I missed out on (not that I was looking) but who can turn down 90% off? Typo

Has anyone bought the selvedge denim from JCrew? Any insight on fit or even mill? I see the white and wheat with a red ID - is it junk?

If you don't care about ethical manufacturing, J Crew is hard to beat if you can get it on heavy discount. I don't have recent experience with their clothes, but it tends to be a more refined fit than The GAP, right in line with Banana Republic. I'm trying to avoid giving these companies business as much as I can lately, especially realizing that RRL is pretty much the same. While the craft is a step up, it's still not made in countries known for ethical treatment of workers.

I tend to gravitate towards their shirts and shorts mostly (and the partner brands - like the US made stuff). I'll probably pass. I'm just looking for things to spend 2 gift cards on.

In that case, we should only be discussing Nudie Jeans because it's the only denim company that is "ethical" across the board, from its usage of organic cotton to its transparency in terms of manufacturing, etc.

The majority of my mall brand clothing, including J.Crew, Gap, etc, are thrifted. I've shifted my spending to companies that not only produce quality products but also source their production in North America. I'm not saying that buying from mall brands is a bad thing for other people, but I'd rather vote with my dollars to keep manufacturing here. made in the USA is a value added selling point for me on most products (but not all).

Really like this MA-1 jacket, but I feel like, even with the 30% off, I could have more jacket for the buck. But it hits all the right notes for me.

I love finding bargains, and I highly recommend this oxford shirt from JCrew Factory: factory.jcrew.com/mens-clothing/shirts/oxford/PRDOVR~E6244/E6244.jspMade in Mauritius, not China (unsure of working conditions there). Although it says "Broken in," it's not distressed in any way. It is easily the thickest and softest oxford shirt I've ever owned. It's almost like a button down sweatshirt. The price is a steal ($35, plus you can likely find a coupon somewhere). It appears to be a 2 x 2 blue/white oxford cloth, and it is extremely thick--somewhere in the area of a mid-weight flannel. Great texture and looks awesome with denim, and should age well. I would have easily paid $75+ for this thing. I know not everyone is a fan of JC/GAP/BR type stuff made overseas, but this shirt is a standout. A couple of closeups of the fabric:

But, because of the "lover cover", I don't wear it untucked. Considering, I don't wear much of anything tucked, the G really just takes up closet space. This will definitely get more action.
