Oh, Gustin...you scamps! (eyeroll) So, I wanted something around a 35.5" waist post soak, and I also did NOT want a 7" hem, so I ordered a size 38 in the Loomies. Got them in yesterday, and lo and behold.......FREAKING 17.5" straight across at the waist PRE SOAK. That's just totally ridiculous. Pre soak, these are sewn up at a size 35. Luckily (for them...), I've lost even more weight than I'd thought as of late, and they fit and were a tad loose, so I shoved a colander into the waist (after sending a tersely-worded email to Gustin about quality control, and them not having any), and started the soak. Note also the insane stitching (as in, insanely poor...). In addition, the inseam measured a ridiculous 40" long (yes.......40"), and the thighs and hem were enormous. The hem was at 9.5". So, I will likely need to get these things tapered and hemmed. I am hot soaking them. WE SHALL SEE. Never again, Gustin...never again...

lol... should I just return these and get the oni xx?
mine are a little loose all around so I think a cold soak might do it.
34.5" waist pre soak 23.3" thighs 7.75" hem 37.5" inseam
I need something like:
34.0" waist 23.0" thigh 7.5" hem 34.5" inseam
maybe they are too small to begin with X: honestly i should have to think this hard about jeans lol.

Not sure quick. I like to experiment. That's the only reason I kept mine. I should also mention that the width of the legs on these were of the insane variety. The waist sewed up small, the legs sewed up huge. I mean seriously, who the hell sewed these? This is a trainwreck.

I know what you mean... whiskeyriverI just don't have 160 dollars to blow on a pair of jeans that I potentially cannot wear, especially when the Oni's will be here later this month with (probably) superior construction and a beige weft. I think I need an enabler to make me keep these loomies. I originally got these to replace my heavy americans which are too loose now.

It doesnt look good. But they do stretch and i also thought i knew what i needed but after getting used to them all others looks like sweatpants hehe. Based on the numbers it looks doomed but so were mine. I would say it comes down to if you could only cold wash them the rest of your life or not. I could never do that with Kids, but maybe you can.

So on the negative side mine definately shrank like a mofo and would eat your target numbers for breakfast laughing and ask for seconds. On the plus side they are one of my top Five nicest pair of jeans....ever! And you only understand that after they really start to fade. If G would sell these once washed I would get a second pair asap....right now its too much of a gamble but yeah couldnt imagine a life without the epic loomie-looms!

whiskeyriver - Those look like they'd be about 18.25-18.5 if they were pulled up to straight, but that's still pretty far under spec. The hem width is spot-on the 38 spec, and I believe this is one of the few pairs of loomstate with the extra length promised in the product description -- they gave you two more than promised, usually they err the other way. I'm actually wondering if your post is meant to be sarcastic since, given other reported loomstate issues, you seem to have come out of it pretty close to spec.

They are tagged 38 and are size 35. No sarcasm needed. That's nuts when compared to the remainder of the cut. My point is that the remaining specs don't even match the specs of the waist they DID give.

ANNND, another thing! (haha)
it has been said in this thread and elsewhere that the hem shrunk like mad, so if you don't want a ridiculously tiny cuff, go straight and size up two, rather than the possible 3 on slims, if you are a slim wearer but want what a slim cuff would be for non-loomstates.
Well...I sized up two, went straight cut, and these things are still at an 8.6" cuff opening after a HOT soak (but before drying). Which is way larger than I prefer. So they only shrunk less than an inch in the hem.
SO, here's a new recommendation to the slim wearers out there that want to chance a purchase of loomies in the future:
First, reconsider buying loomies.
Second, don't do a straight cut; stay with slim because, despite what is said herein or elsewhere on the internets, the hem will NOT shrink a ton.
The remaining post-soak measurements (pre drying):
Waist: 17.5 (due to the colander) Rise: 11.5 Thigh: 12.75 Knee: 9.6 Hem: 8.6
I will likely sell these.

It almost seems like they said "customers are buying these large because the fabric shrinks 2"" and the sew shop understood it as "normal specs, but 1.5- 2" smaller in the waist".

Looks like if you pulled the sides tight the waist would be 36 are more but that is quite a bit under what a 38 should be. Hem is pretty close to what 38 should be 9.5 for a straight. Will be interesting to see what they shrink to.

fwiw, I ordered 36 slim. How much did it shrink for you in the thighs, whiskeyriver? I feel like I can live with tight knees and cuff if the thighs aren't too constraining. the stick can keep the waist manageable so if I do a ice water soak it might be okay. maybe I should wear my loomies raw LOL! even better fades?

And my thighs didn't shrink much. They're at 12.25 post hot soak. These didn't shrink much at all period. They weren't tightly gripping the colander in the waist after the soak. It's almost like they were soaked and sent back.

I think I should just try the soak.
Actually my best fitting pair is LD believe it or not and I thought they were too tight initially. now they are great!
I need an indigo pair, my heavy americans are much too baggy now that I lost weight and they stretched.

Waist: 17.5 (due to the colander) Rise: 11.5 Thigh: 12.75 Knee: 9.6 Hem: 8.6 I will likely sell these. After drying: Waist: 17.25 Rise: 11.4 Thigh: 12.75 Thigh 2" down: 12" Knee: 9.4 Hem: 8.4 Inseam: 36 and change

As for mine, they are snug in the waist, and loose everywhere else. Stupid freakin things.

dammit, I'm just gonna wear them raw. they are too small to soak. The general issue with raw wear of loomstate is that you'll wear them, get your fades set, and then they get wet or you have to wash them and then everything moves and looks weird. The reason you want to wash occasionally is to get the grime out of the fibers that can cause premature blowouts, and you won't be able to do that. Just don't wear them in situations where you could potentially end up wet and you'll probably be fine?

Yeah if you're wearing Loomies without soaking then don't ever plan on letting them touch water. I wouldn't do it but hey...free country and all that stuff
