Just received my loomies today. It lives up to the hype. Amazingly beautiful texture, veg-tan patch, and best of all, sewed up precisely to spec. I ordered a 31 Slim, though I normally wear a 30 Slim.. couple this with the Arnold Blueprint and I guess you could say I'm in for a painful break-in, post-soak. I figured the shrinkage was percentage based, so smaller dimensions (smaller waist) should shrink a bit less than larger ones. I did a warm/hot soak with kakishibu for about 3 hours and they're now hanging up to dry in my shower. I'll hang 'em somewhere to get some sun exposure tomorrow and will probably do a second kakishibu soak sometime later in the week. For the record, the selvage ID and pocketbags are going to be kakishibu orangey-brown.. the leather patch seems to have escaped unscathed, for now. Pic of the hanging loomies.. ..kind'a regret canceling the bloomies now. The fabric is incomparable.. hopefully some other outfits start carrying loomstate denim. I might have to cop a pair of the N&Fs!

Wow, you're jumping in with both feet there! Hot soak AND persimmon dye right out of the chute. I admire your moxie, sir.
The magic of the internets tells me my pair shipped out today. I'm dreaming of a white (weft with a shitton of highly textured showthrough against a beautiful indigo warp) Christmas...

damn wisdom, you dyed that beautiful fabric? Crazy brah! yeah mine shipped today also. I wish I was more excited about these but I'm afraid they won't fit because of the Arnold workout as well. I went 34 straight and I should have went 35 me thinks. We shall see

I'm doing the second dip rightside out. I already flipped out the pair and they've definitely taken on a kakishibu cast. I tried them on slightly damp this morning. They've become skinny jeans, but they fit really well. Wife says they're the nicest fitting jeans I've got.
Loomies are certainly living up to the hype! I'll post a preexposed pic later..

I'm getting scared about doing a worn in-tub soak on these. I'm wondering if I should call up Discovery and have their cameras rolling because maybe this is the time a man will actually get eaten alive by an anaconda.

I'm wondering if I should call up Discovery and have their cameras rolling because maybe this is the time a man will actually get eaten alive by an anaconda. LOL!! Nearly spit coffee all over my laptop! The loomies shrink a substantial amount. I had trouble getting the top button buttoned on mine. Went from a 31.5 to about 29.5.. full two inches of shrink in the waist. Some pics of my loomies, post-soak and pre-exposure. I'm kind'a worried about all the wrinkles I'm getting in 'em due to kakishibu soaking them in a bucket, rather than a tub. These are pre-exposed, so aren't going to show a whole lot of color change, yet. The first shot doesn't bring the color out properly, but shows the interesting bits.. leather patch, selvage ID, pocket-bags, weft, G tag.. The second picture shows a detail of the patch, selvage ID (washed-out, sorry), and how the kakishibu seems to have taken to the "fuzz" and warp yarns much more than the weft show-through. You can see the vertical grain has taken on the orangey-brown cast. Loomies are sitting out on my balcony (front side up 'til 1200) in partially cloudy conditions. Will keep 'em out there for a few days and do a second dip later in the week. Ciao!

Hmmm...in that case I'm thinking they'll go back. I'm an inch up at this point because I can never figure out if I'm a 34 or 35 because they always fit differently. I went with a 36 but since these seemingly sewed small I'm guessing a cold soak would even be dangerous.

Don't overthink it. They pretty much have to be soaked to wear them.
Cold soak them and let them dry. Put a board or some type of form in the waist if you are crazy concerned about them. Or not.
When they are dry, put them on and see if they work for you. If not, sell them . . . someone will buy them. IMO you are crazy if you don't consider keeping them.
Bottom line is, they'll either work for you or they won't, but you likely won't lose money on them.

G will take 'em back so i'm not concerned about dumping 'em. will hold out for the next batch if they've sewed up small. ARe u nutzzzzz Do not go Looney on the Loomie well if they're not gonna worrrrrk. would rather go with a 37 and mold them more than attempt the 36 and not be able to return. will find out today if they sewed up small - if they did, then it's definitely a no-go. has anyone done a cold soak on them?

bugula, G will take them back? Are you sure about that? That makes me feel better if they will because I am in the same boat as you.

I'd make the same assumption. as long as they're new/unsoaked i don't see why they wouldn't let you return them. i'm sure they know they'll sell quickly on the stock page.

"Given that this is such a unique and experimental fabric that will require soaking/washing before the first wear, we will not be able to take any returns or exchanges of the Loomstate for any reason."

Surprised that they wouldn't allow pre-soak returns. Before they had the stock store set-up I can see...but now it doesn't make as much sense.

I agree @david, but I'm assuming there's no guarantee they will take them back given the clear warning.
Personally, I think there's good market value in a soaked, unworn pair of loomies with precise specs in the event they do not fit, and that value likely increases as time passes with no new loomie drops.
