As much as I'd like to commend Flynn for speaking out, I won't. I believe his motivation was "personally", and "egotistically" driven. It is well known, Phil likes to run his mouth. He apparently made a number of disparaging comments to Flynn, about Machine Head. Instead of confronting Phil personally, he did this. Unfortunately, it removes all sincerity. but... he's not the one sieg heiling and screaming white power at a show. This is like calling Hannibal Burress a coward for exposing Bill Cosby. I see the correlation you're making. But, I don't believe Burress is "getting even" with Cosby for some slight. Flynn is merely exacting revenge for insults made by Anselmo. This is why I question Flynn's sincerity. I don't believe Flynn would have made such a grandiose production, had Anselmo not been critical towards him. I'm not questioning the message, only the messenger.

I don't believe Flynn would have made such a grandiose production, had Anselmo not been critical towards him. I'm not questioning the message, only the messenger. I didn't get that impression from the video. maybe Flynn's message was selfishly motivated because of Anselmo's insults, but I really don't care. I do think he made a good point about how comments about white power (or whatever racial epithet) such as the one made by Anselmo, often get swept under the rug, especially in the metal community, and that it shouldn't be tolerated. Malevolent Creation are another band that have made racist comments toward blacks, and I absolutely will not support a band that advocates hate towards minority groups. I think Billy Milano (of S.O.D./M.O.D. fame) has also made hateful statements as well. The point is, whether or not Anselmo made his comment in jest is besides the point. He said it and he can't unsay it. To say that it was a joke sounds like back peddling to me. Anselmo probably wouldn't have referred to his statement as a joke had their not been so much backlash.

Man, that fella has some depressing lyrics. Tru. Can't do it. The weird juxtaposition of jangly happiness and dismembered babies is creeping me out. Back to Guided by Voices and Glad Girls. Stoner old man rock uber alles.

16 horsepower - American Wheeze they got lumped into the gothic country category. Really mostly rock. I'll follow this one up with a couple spin off bands and then some other country gothic artists.

God damn I used to love this band. Time for a trip in the wayback machine. I'd been following them since Sackcloth and Ashes, loved Hoarse, and Secret South (by far the rockinest) was in the CD player in the car for like three months straight and then the CD player stopped ejecting, so it was the only CD for a while. I think the last time I saw Edwards play was Wovenhand at the Mercury Theater, which was a great show. Thanks for this, are you in Colorado?

A couple others, since @61scout got me inspired, sorry for the sound, I didn't make the videos, but was at at least one of the shows.
She beats the hell out of those drums.
Same lead guy, earlier band.
Different people entirely:

I'm going to change it up a bit here and take it back to the golden age of hip hop. When rappers came from the streets and had gang affiliations, not from Canada with roles in Degrassi. When beefs were handled (unfortunately) with guns and fists, not twitter posts.
I still love watching this 3D hologram performance from Coachella and I think they did an excellent job with it. Sure you can tell during certain spots that it's fake but damn, overall it looks really good and they nailed his live perfomance. I can only imagine how snoop was feeling and what was going through his mind when he was up on stage with "Tupac" again.
