I remember Starz. Had the first two albums. The first one was ok, but they haven't stood the test of time.

Good Glam discussion. Bowie for sure had his Glam phase. Others as mentioned also. I'd consider Missing Persons more New Wave. It's all good though as many genres cross over and are just a name. I loved Sweet and think of them as hard rock on some of their albums. They went through many different phases of their sound. This song rocks. There were ahead of their time on songs like this. A good one to play loud. Never heard of these guys, but I strangely hear hints of early Metallica in this song. Or I guess the correct way to put it would be that I hear a hint of a Sweet influence in early Metallica now after hearing this song. Speaking of Metallica, can't believe how much they suck these days. I love all of their stuff up to the black album and then they started putting out real stinkers. Really wish they'd go back to making metal like they used to. Cliff Burton is rolling in his grave right now

My kid playing last week with his custom Fender Highway 1 I had made for him. I agree, Metallica is toast. But then, it happens all the time. I watched a cool show on The Rolling Stones a couple days ago: Charlie Is My Darling: Ireland, 1965. Check it - great watch as is the QA after with Dave Grohl.

Is Metallica crap because of money or did they just get lazy? Hetfield is a great vocalist and songwriter but these days he's just not doin it for me. Top 40 Shite is what I would call their music.
Dave Grohl on the other hand is goddamned amazing imo. Saw the Foo Fighters years ago at First Avenue when their first album dropped and it was one of the best live performances I've been too. The guy simply deserves every bit of success he gets

Cliff Burton is rolling in his grave right now I would probably have to agree with that statement for the most part, although I do think there were some good songs on the St. Anger album that are underrated IMO.

That's really cool.....but where's his selvedge denim??!!! I can't see a pic in his right hand in that picture. Does your son play using the classical picking method, using his fingers to pluck the strings instead of a pic?

Does your son play using the classical picking method, using his fingers to pluck the strings instead of a pic? He often wears Selvedge! Got him a bunch of Gustins that look great on him - he loves the 'Boners. It depends - sometimes a pick, sometimes fingers only. He wears 99% vintage most of the time - that watch was my grandfathers. The rings are also vintage - a 14k Gold Mason's ring from my other grandfather and a ring made for him by Native American artist Ray Tracy. www.traceydesignsinc.comHe was just out with his GF at some hollywood adjacent thrift stores looking for more stuff. He got a lot from my wife's father too. Amazing stuff from his days as a dancer/extra in old hollywood films. Fits him perfectly - he's not as large as me LOL.

He's a great dude too - I wish I had seen the FF's back in the day.

I wish he was as strong an everything as he is a drummer, but every time I'm thinking I didn't like one of his albums I give it a shot and I'm singing along with all the songs, so I realize that I always like it more than I remember having liked it. Tenacious D is definitely at their best with him drumming, and even that alone is good enough for me, let alone what he did with killing joke and nirvana. Hide the kiddies, this has got some swearing:

Amazing show in a tiny venue (Bluebird in Denver) so it was hot as hell. Supergrass opened and they were equally amazing.

Supergrass was awesome. A friend of mine was a bartender in Oxford when they were getting started and I got to see them a few times really early on.

He can kill it on the guitar too imo.he seems like he'd be really cool to hang out with and not be the type with a massive ego

Found an interesting video on YouTube which was posted by Rob Flynn of Machine Head basically calling out Phil Anselmo for a white power comment he made at a show. Good video. I was glad he said something because i've noticed a mildly racist undercurrent in the metal community. I don't see too many metal musicians speaking out against this sorta thing, so I thought it was brave of Rob Flynn to speak out against it and condemn Anselmo for being a racist pr*ck.

As much as I'd like to commend Flynn for speaking out, I won't. I believe his motivation was "personally", and "egotistically" driven. It is well known, Phil likes to run his mouth. He apparently made a number of disparaging comments to Flynn, about Machine Head. Instead of confronting Phil personally, he did this. Unfortunately, it removes all sincerity.
