here's a cheat sheet showing lowest and highest pesticide foods...helping to gauge which make most sense to buy organic. huge subsidies for soy and corn have vastly altered how our farms operate and food produced in the country.

Thanks and I did not know that. I need to do some research on that because my wife is feeding my children a lot of soy products as part of our normal diet. Food in is interesting but of course it's one side of the spectrum. Certain things I don't buy organic because I haven't seen a reason to. Like things with meaty peels. Advocado, banana, green beans, pineapple. But others I always by non-GMO and organic. Corn, carrots, potato, berries. Corn wheat and soy are all huge business we just need to be better informed with what is going in our body. Thanks again on the info. Talked to my friends in Asia and they told me the same things to stop eating any soy products. Just told my wife and she is freaking out now.

So how is everyone doing with their workout routines and goals? wisdom, @wils, you guys still with the Arnold routine? brentkuz, you still dong the Kris Gethin routine? I'm on my 6th go round of the Arnold routine and although I am still seeing results and still loving it after a year of doing it, I think I might switch routines up after I finish this last cycle of it. I am making progress on my goal of getting a 10" chest to waist drop as I have lost a 1/2" in my waist by cutting back carbs, fats, and introducing a fat burner in to my supplement routine which is working great. Now I'm at an 8" chest to waist drop, 2 more inches to go. I'm going to start a thread on supplement reviews. I have a few I'd like to share.

Between boxing and Crossfit I'm as lean and muscular as I've been since college. It will be a good look for when the shirt comes off in front of 1,600 people for my fight.

My third protein I use is a Casein protein and I drink it once a day before bed. Casein protein is slowly absorbed by your body as opposed to Whey protein which is immediately absorbed. Drinking Casein before bed will give your body a slow steady stream of protein and aminos throughout the night while you sleep. I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Casein. Hey Ickes, or anyone else, I just started drinking the casein before bed. However, I'm not used to sleeping with a full stomach. Normally I don't have anything within a couple hours of sleep. Just a quick question based on your own experience: Do you down it right before bed, or give it an hour or so to settle a bit? Does that kill the effectiveness by doing that? Or should I just get used to it, and quit being a 6'3" 220 lb baby?

Basically I'll drink the shake right before I brush my teeth and then lay down so I'd say about 5-10 minutes before laying down. Casein can be hard for some people to stomach though. My buddy just can't do Casein because his precious little Italian insides just don't agree with Casein. Personally I can stomach it but it took me about 5 days or so for me to get used to it. Give it a week or so and if it's not vibing with your stomach then don't take it. Its not absolutely necessary to take Casein at night imo.

A lot of proteins on the market are mixtures of whey and casein as well.

Damn.. extension and curl sets with 15+ reps have got to leave your legs on fire. The Arnold Blueprint has extension and curl sets with reps up in that range in the later weeks. I hate 'em.

GVT style this week. Let me tell you me, my girl and my buddy jack are all sore as hell today already. Didn't feel crazy pumps during the workout but I feel the burn now. I'm wasn't sold on the bodybuilding.com workout programs as the felt like commercials but I am starting to believe in the training end just not supplementation. Kris Gethin is a bit of a tool but I like the workouts.

brentkuz, I know you're skeptical on the supplementation, as you should be. I'm telling you though, check out the JYM line of supps by Jim Stoppani. I believe that Stoppani (who has a PHd btw I believe from YALE?) is sort of revolutionizing the supp industry. I am slowly changing all my supps to the JYM line

I encourage everyone here to take s look at the JYM line. I have been using two of his products over the last three weeks or so and they are the best products in their category that I have ever used (fat burner and natural testosterone booster). I will be posting reviews soon.
I also will be posting some links and info of Jim explaining his products. I have tons of respect for this dude because he absolutely knows his shit. He's a nerd who has thorough knowledge of the science behind supplementation and that's exactly the kind of guy I want to learn from and invest in. It's real science not "bro science". He's even changed the way Iook at Multivitamins. He explains on his website how he leaves certain minerals and vitamins out of his multivitamin because when you combine certain vitamins together they actually cancel each other out and you basically piss them away. These are vitamins tgthat are in probably 99% of the multis out there too and I checkef my multi and sure enough, theu were there.
I'll post a link in a bit to that info

@wils, that is exactly why you need to be skeptical when shopping for supplements. I'm not completely up and up on FDA regualations but as far as I know supplements are not regulated at all or at least not very strictly by the FDA. Almost every company out there uses "proprietary blends" in their supps which is basically a way for them to underdose the good ingredients, hide the low amounts that they are putting in, and use a filler for the rest.
This is exactly why I am STRONGLY encouraging everyone here to take look at the JYM line of supplements by Jim Stoppani. I know I sound like a broken record but his products list every single ingredient on the labels AND list the exact amount of each ingredient he puts in. Plus Jim Stoppani has a PhD so this guy has personally done some of the clinical studies on a lot of ingredients that he uses. This is extremely rare in the supplement industry. This dude puts clinical doses (and then some in certain instances) of his ingredients in his products. Not only that, he has videos all over YouTube of him explaining each and every product to you and what each individual ingredient does. How many supplement companies do that??? None that I've found. Bottom line, his shit works too. I will be posting reviews of several of his products shortly.

It's basically what I thought about all along.
I read Jim's vitamin page. Intresting timing of nutrients and how each nutrient works with eachother is something he looks in depths with. I read a lot about timing of protein and how it's more what you intake daily that matters. Lots of research goes back and forth.
Something about the timing of nutrient make a difference doesn't sit right with me from an evolution stand point. Early humans didn't have three squares and ate when they could so it's shocking to me we don't have a better way to store and process nutrients.

Ok my German Volume Training week is over. Man it was brutal. Next week is HIIT should be interesting. I will say this gethin workout keeps the body guessing and each week I am still sore. Up a few lbs to 223lbs. Basically all my muscle groups are stronger than at the start.
I will say it's def a muscle building plan.
Next up trying to quit caffeine besides green tea. Cutting coffee for me might help get over a plateau.

Damn, brentkuz.. that routine is killer. I'm off to China next week and am pretty sure I'll have access to, at most, a few treadmills and a universal machine, if anything at all. Gonna have to figure out how to put my routine on hold for a week.. sucks.

I'll probably try the Gethin program you're doing or one of the Stoppani programs.

@dev - I'm thinking cutting caffeine, which is coffee since I don't drink soda at all. Two coffees a day trying to cut it to one every two days. Then cut back even more to eventually none. Laying off the caffeine should reboot the adrenals. 28 days to form a habit remember. ickes - at first I wasn't sold on gethin and his routine but sticking to it this far is pretty good. I don't keep up with the cardio he recommends. After this I'm gonna do a 4-6wk cut program if you see anything good.
