I'm dying not being able to so any upper body workouts at all. Started doing more cardio this week. Hopefully I can cut just doing legs and no upper body with diet and cardio. I have the fat to lose. Can you do kettlebell swings or is that too taxing on your elbow? This workout worked wonders, but it's the toughest workout I've ever done in my entire life. One hour a day, 20 days in one month. You lose fat like it's G-butter. www.t-nation.com/workouts/10000-swing-kettlebell-workout

After two weeks of testing my 1RM on the bench press, I gained 30 pounds on the 1RM. My 1RM on the squats have stalled as well. I started Smolov Jr. again, this time doing both the squat and bench at the same time, trying to hit my summer strength goals by the end of July. Do you have a workout partner? That's the main thing that's held me back on doing any type of 1RM training...no spotter.

This is worse than it was when I was still pitching. Damn fifty rep gethin workouts. Overtraining. If I can use the right as only a support hand it's a good idea. Have my left actually do more of the work.

I have failed a couple times at 405 on the squat, and the squat rack arms have been there each time to save my ass. I push myself hard, but at the same time, I play it safe, on certain exercises. So I lift at 90% on the bench and deadlift, deadlift because I don't want to go through the ground by accidentally dropping the weight.

MyProtein Whey Isolate. 2.2lbs for $28, but they constantly have deals for 15-30% off.
Their regular whey, slightly cheaper in price, is highly rated for quality and value on the Labdoor site. Ive used that as well but switched to isolate. All the flavors taste great. Ive tried vanilla, choc, strawberry, and toffee..

What protein powder do you guys use? Gold standard whey by ON I have been trying some other brands like Intek and muscle sport international lean whey. As long as the ingredients are high quality I don't care.

Ended up swinging by Costco and picking up a tub of the Combat Protein Powder. With the discount and no tax (bought a bunch of stuff for the business for resale and added this to it), made the price easier to swallow compared to other brands I've seen. Tastes pretty decent too. Good looks, Winterland!

I had never heard of Myprotein or the Labdoor site. labdoor.com/ Looks like a great site if their analysis is accurate and unbiased. Myprotien gets an A and high value rating. Value rating seems a little high as it seems fairly expensive. I see it gets a few bad reviews on Amazon but mostly based on taste. You can't argue with the analysis specs though. Good quality. Low sugars and cholesterol. Overall I think all the protein powders I have tried are too sweet. I think they could cut the sweetener amount in half. It would be better for you and not overload you with sweetness. I don't get too caught up in taste overall as that is not why you drink it. Good taste is a plus though. I try to watch for amount of protein per serving and how much sugars and cholesterol. MusclePharm Combat Powder gets a B not too bad. I think they must have paid more than what Costco sells it for otherwise I would think it would rate higher in the value category. It is a little higher in cholesterol than some of the more expensive proteins but not bad.

Anyone have a good all-around fitness workout that's as easy to follow as the Arnold Blueprint?
Of all the places I've gotten fitness advice and all the routines I've tried, I would never have guessed a forum like this would have provided the most effective. The Arnold blueprint has been the most transformative of all workouts I've done in the past. I'm up to 154 lbs and the strongest I've been in my life, but I know I've sacrificed a bit of fitness as a result.
Anyone know of a good workout plan that combines stretching, conditioning, strength, etc? My goal is to find a good 2-3 month or so plan that I can continuously cycle.

Finally back to the gym after months of being down. 4 months of physical therapy (which I am now convinced physical therapy works as well as voodoo) seems like time was my healer. Chronic Tendonitis was a bitch.
Got back into the gym this week. Legs didn't lose much but chest did. Trying to get down to 200lbs from 216lbs then reevaluate.
No more super high rep Kris Gethin workouts.

I preach it to everyone I can regarding the Arnold Mass Blueprint, it's the best workout program I've found. I've been hitting the gym off and on for the past 20 years and the Arnold Blueprint is by far the most effective workout I have ever done.

I'm getting a jump on New Years, but starting the 10k Kettlebell Swing Challenge. Looking to drop 4% ~ 5% body fat by the end of the challenge, right in time for my first vacation in 3 years. I've already done day 1 on Monday, only 19 more days to go. My plan: Monday 500 KB Swings 50 Tricep Extensions Tuesday Bench Press Incline Bench Press Face Pulls 100 KB Swings Wednesday 500 KB Swings 50 Goblet Squats Thursday 500 KB Swings 50 Weighted Chinups Friday Overhead Press Deadlifts Face Pulls 100 KB Swings Saturday 500 KB Swings Sunday Rest The results are supposed to be amazing, and I'm no longer focused on hitting weight PRs, but to cut. Intermittent Fasting for diet.
