Not spending on myself makes it easy and enjoyable to help my wife build a more quality wordrobe. Not that she didn't have nice things already but now it's fine to get that Brooks Brothers Navy Blazer.

i'm about 3.5 months into my 90 day no spend and honestly, it's been pretty easy. there are still a few things I want but i'm also pretty content with what I have. maybe i'll set a budget for myself and allocate those funds to a once per year purchase on something I really want. that seems like the sensible thing to do.
things I really want: Ande Whall denim PBJ denim (not sure of the fit though) 3sixteen crosscut flannel in salmon check Rogue Territory Stantons IH UHF

I've significantly paired by my clothing spend this year (from the inception of this sub-thread). It's been a nice piece of perspective. I'm not cold turkey yet, but definitely few and far between. Building a new mountain bike has certainly given me a new focus.
I did end up going in on the Soso kickstarter last week, but only for $60 to get the super early bird deal. I'm debating a few short-sleeved shirting options, but that's more out of necessity for the lovely triple digits that we've already had here in the desert.
I may consider another pair of denim (heavier weight) as a later 2016 (winter) option to start working on. But aside from that and the aforementioned shirting, I'm good without clothes for a while. It's been a welcome break for the wallet too.

Been over 3 months now! So far so good. Starting to find stuff in my closet that I haven't used and put them into rotation. I may even have some things altered. A pair of IH khakis that I don't wear will be better off as a pair of shorts. I still have a pair of CF canvas chinos coming (but I'm losing faith Summer should be easy to not spend. But I'm expecting fall to be hard.

I'm finding it difficult because there are a ton of summer sales going on. I see stuff I want but have shown a lot of restraint.

9 months since last shirt and jeans. 5 months since the last anything. i just realized it's been 10 months since i've bought a pair of jeans. have had many other purchases since that time...and will still likely pick up a pair of lightweight denim at some point in the near future. i only really think about it when there are two warm days back to back...which has been a rarity so far this year.

Almost fell off the wagon It's 90 degrees here and I don't have any decent shorts. Almost bought a pair on line. But held back! Now I'm heading to the Tailor with a pair of IH chinos to have them hemmed into shorts.

Wish I had a pair.."

Confession...
I bought a blazer! BUT I feel in still within my self made rules. I was needing and allowing myself one jacket/blazer.
At first I thought I was going to buy a LE LABOUREUR moleskin jacket. After looking at it for awhile it seems a bit to Blue for what id be using for and bring to much attention.
This past week I was shopping for suits for my boys and came across a Wool Hunter Green HerringBone blazer for $29. Perfect!

So I'm 5 months in on this and have done very well I feel. I myself have only bought a Blazer (see above post), some underwear (that doesn't really count does it?), a pair of BR wool pants (hell they were only $6.99) and my wife bought me a pair of Fluevogs (that she liked). Now I'm feeling tested with a Rogue Territory shirt - www.rogueterritory.com/shop/hunter-shirt-maroon-navy/Have I been good enough?

I have often thought of you for inspiration and then I think.......nahhh. But I am slowing down. Yeah, go buy some stuff, it's the 'merican way. Have you been good enough? Uh, I'd say so, but Fluevogs are not cheap! sidenote: I bought a pair of purple Doc's @ TOR Fluevog in 1989. Went there last year but nothing was calling my name.

I shall join the similar 1 year no spending with you DigDug. Got engaged two weeks ago and my fiance and me need to come up a good 20-30k to pay for the wedding she wants. At least I have two years to save but means I need to thin the herd of all my hobbies. Already started with my a couple of watches/guns/shoes. Hoping to sell some knives as well as make some money off my GSW tickets. I think most expensive non-hobby I partake in is eating out. I love to eat food. Wish me luck lol cause I need to make sure I put away at least 20% a month for my cause. Lots of oatmeal breakfast and turkey/chicken dinners in my future.

Step 1, look at a calendar and determine a time that you can both be off of work AND court houses will be open. Create a casual reason to both have the day offf. Talking to florists or cake tasting should do it.
Step 2, buy a large bottle of Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Port (yeah yeah), Armagnac or Bookers. Preferably something she likes.
Step 3, hopefully you see where I'm going here. Apply Step 2 to Step 1 and get married at the courthouse. Chock full of win.
I've done one of each, paying more than the court fees to get married is stupid.
