I lived in Laguna Beach and spent a lot of time down in Dana Point. Some great fresh fish down there too. The drive from Dana Point to Lake Elsinore on the Ortega Hwy is awesome too, less crowded than Topanga and Mullholland and fewer popo too. Makes me miss the M Coupe.

I enjoyed a bright sunny day on the water. SF .......who? But I have been thinking about what a PITA and Expense so much of this can be. Makes me rethink my reliable MiC fallbacks that are never out of spec and fit well. yeah I've been doing a good bit of that myself, lately.

The returns get tiresome for sure, especially for out of spec items. Sometimes it feels like being a lab rat and getting experimented on.

S&S has lost a few heavy posters. Heck, even the one who started this thread is on hiatus.

My most heavily worn jeans are averaging about a year to eighteen months to really show reasonable wear. Stockpiling large quantities of jeans just seems counterintuitive.
Now about US made shirts, that's a more interesting search that continues to be difficult to nail down.

Sometimes it feels like being a lab rat and getting experimented on. after reading about Railcar and Freenote it's made me rethink this whole MiUSA thing. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer and lean towards MiUSA companies but there are times when I think what's the point in supporting an American company if they can't even sew shit up correctly, especially when you're paying a premium.

I have been cutting back on my purchases, but I like the fresh look and prefer Itallian at this point. You know I'm right there with you on the shirts.

I'm mildly tempted by the non-fade PBJ for a pair that retains that new look, but ultimately, I'm sloppy enough to just prefer the battered look. And I'm learning to like my half red, half indigo couch.

I made the trek on the Ortega Hwy going from Temecula to Dana Point. Pair that with the drive from Palm Springs to Temecula (74) which is equally as fun and terrifying. I totally took the liberty of pushing the limits of my Toyota Camry rental.

My off-road expeditions in Northern New Mexico in a bright yellow Chevy Aveo are an all time favorite. I managed to get it high centered but pushed it off by hand. Totally crushed the door sills on both sides, but never heard back on that one. That car taught me an invaluable lesson though. Rent black cars. I rubbed the bumper of a RAV4 in an impossibly tight parking garage in Ottawa and just applied some black shoe polish before returning it. Perfect short term "repairs!"

This could be it's own topic on the forum - Rental Car Chaos. I went to Vail in '08 (I think), I was there for a trip with my girlfriend at the time. We had rented a Yukon (or Tahoe) from Denver. Made the trek and encountered all the elements that come from driving to Vail (snow coming out of the Eisenhower tunnel). Parked the SUV for the week outside the lodge (covered parking). Came out to leave and someone had ripped the entire wiper arm off the driver side. Not just the blade, the entire arm. Thankfully no rain or snow in route back to the airport. Even better when the rental car company didn't check the wipers upon return. No charge on that.

RIP Gene Wilder
I know a lot of you are children of the 70's like myself and probably grew up watching Gene Wilder in films like Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Willy Wonka, Silver Streak, Stir Crazy, etc. He was one of my favorite comedians of all time next to Peter Sellers and a few others. I thought he was the coolest character as The Waco Kid in Blazing Saddles and I always found his comedic delivery hilarious. I know celebs die all the time but this is one of those moments where someone has a true impact on your personal life. Think i'll try and dig out some of his movies tonight...maybe watch Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother.

road my my motorcycle yesterday and prolly went for about 40miles or so. Odometer is off since I switched chains as well as not putting on a speedo healer. Man my thighs were sore since i was gripping that tank, gotta relieve pressure on my hands since I like to death grip.
been a while since I road and did a tuneup pre-maui trip last week so I went easy and road my pace. Stupid sun decides to come out after I finish my ride.
Anyways, too many people on spending freezes on here making it a dull place, first world problems for us all.

matt i use low rolling resistance tires, my first set lasted 80K miles and I only replaced them because I ended up getting unlucky and rolling with 3 of them having multiple patches. Tires are noisy though if that makes any difference as well as a little more expensive.

Took the boat out yesterday, effed up the prop when another 2 came charging in and pushed me back at the entrance to the marina onto the fist size rocks they line the edges with.
That was after I put $600 deposit down on partial 2017 Tribe tickets, but that gets me the ability to purchase post season tickets. More money.
And am going to Ocktoberfest.
SO excuse me, I need to go downstairs and try me some more scratch offs. One of these days I'm SURE I'll hit!
