FWIW, what intrigued me about these are how damn inky they look. In their photos, the selvedge ID is covered in dye transfer.

FWIW, Gustin responded via email saying these are cut true to the size guide. That's what they say. I'm sticking in regardless. I think they'll be a nice pair.

Well....i also have lovely jeans that need wearing. We all do, this is a huge part of the comitment and fun in the contest imho. If I could enter with any pair then I would not use the antiques that is an oz i would never buy a mill i would never buy, a dull id and so on, i backed it for the comunity and "madness" of doing this even tho i have no use whatsoever for another pair. Even so I feel stronger for this pair then many other bc of the potential and to "give back" to a comunity that have given me so insanely much, i mean when i registered here I had no intention of being an active user, i basically did it as a courtesy to Scott (Old26) bc he have contributed alot for me in TFL (and also the Gustin board) with both beautiful pics of leather jackets but also a rare sanity of how to view choices and the world in general, today i f!@king couldnt live without this mad place and its a huge plus in my life to take a coffe and read all your craziness as a relaxation from the stressful work, not to mention the broadening of my knowledge and ways to aquire really cool clothes and gear. I just told marshdown his burgundybelt was in a multimilliondollar meeting some days ago, who would have thought i was gonna recieve a handcolored belt in a cigarbox..wtf...So i strongly vote that over 5 is a contest for us and Come the f!@k on you other dudes....for science!!

How much shrink are we looking at here, realistically?

Whiskey says 1.5" so I sized up 2 sizes.

How much shrink are we looking at here, realistically? I don't imagine them being much different than Levi's shrink to fit Cone denim, which you buy true to size (but which are actually 1" bigger than your size). So if you are a true 36, buy 36 and the waist is actually 37". So I really think 1-1.5" max. But I am going with the 1" STF guideline here. So I'm getting a 35 slim (35.5") and putting something in the waistband to prevent overshrink beyond 34.5". But I think they are massively overblowing the shrink on just regular Cone unsanforized.

I'll have to see if I have the Cone Standard Cookie Sheet, to keep the waist from shrinking.

Man, this is tempting...Think I'll be in and try the 37 slims. I wish they'd lose the 6th belt loop on sizes over 36, incidentally.

So if I go in I think I'm a size 35". I pretty much only wear jeans on Saturday and Sunday though

My 33 slims are very snug right now. Dare I go 36"? I think maybe 35 straight? Man I have way too many pair of jeans.

You forgot to add "The Six Year" to the front of the title.

Hi there, New poster here... I will gladly join this fade contest, even with a stocked rotation of denim in my closet. Glad to have you onboard! If you don't end up with any real fades due to lack of use, just cut them and make a pair of Jorts. You'll at least get some applause (or maybe jeers

I'd likely be on board with the contest if it was pick your own, but keep the denim weight the same. I do realize that not all jeans are created equal and have different fading properties but it would be more interesting to me to see the abuse different types of denim can sustain.
