So, I was going through the raw jeans stretching ritual with these and two of the fly buttons popped right the heck off. I'm planning to reach out to gustin on Monday to get some replacements sent, but I'm almost wondering if this isn't a great opportunity for personalizing them with some different buttons. So far the fly stays together without them, but I will definitely be replacing them.

If so it would be good to know so the questions could be directed to them. I know the Mods here would be more than willing to do any judging etc if needed but you guys are in control or not in control of this.

So far it seems to be a simple Gentleman's challenge/contest to see who can make the most interesting, best looking pair. - Its for one year (ends New Years 2017) - no Shenanigans (fake fades). On our honor. But use, wash, beat as we feel fit - we haven't come to an agreement out the posting pics of progression. - hoping 3 or more Modes could pick 3 of what they find to be the best and have the community vote on those. - biggest reward will be Bragging rights and a Belt!

Corrected. I believe the plan was to have the contest photos in the photo thread and the conversation in another so that they didn't get jumbled up, well, like this. Looking at it, though, that's not something that was common knowledge cause I've found a couple others.

Thanks exophobe, I read it after the fact but didn't get to transfer it over. I got distracted by a couple other threads.

Well I came up with the idea but I certainly don't claim to be "running" it. In true SS fashion, it seems to have morphed into a community/group/hive mind sorta thing. Which is why I like this here place.

I'm not sure if I can actually wear mine as much as I would have liked to. The rise on my slims is just too low. My wife says I can't pull it off. Much lower than my other two pairs of Gustin slims, one of which is the Zimbabwe loomstates.

For all we know the best looking pair may be a pair that's never been worn

I'm trying to loose 10lbs, although I'n not sure that will make a huge difference- the jeans fit, the rise is just so low. Anyone else have this issue with the slims?

The slims do have a lower rise in the front (10"), but the Antiques were a little shorter too on mine (with soak) at about 9.75". It doesn't work for everyone. I'm okay with the fit, so long as they don't ride up - not much room for adjustment.

No out just yet. I'm trying to loose 10lbs, although I'n not sure that will make a huge difference- the jeans fit, the rise is just so low. Anyone else have this issue with the slims? Yeah, I certainly did. The rise is super low on the slims. I complained and they sent me a replacement pair in straight. Those ones had legs that were too wide for my taste, so I sent them off to Railcar but they arrived and did not feel much different. Those will be for sale in the sale forum soon. So I am rolling with the supertight slims haha. One last ditch effort to give yourself extra room in the seat/loosen up the top block is: 1. When dry, shove your hands in the back of your pants while wearing, and do squats in them. Keep doing until it stretches enough to make a fist and keep doing. It'll also stretch out the waist, and thus why I call this "last ditch," so you'll have to cinch them a bit with a belt. I used to do this when I had jeans that had a too-tight top block/low rise. I got enough stretch to make things workable. 2. If this doesn't work, soak the top block only and repeat when wet. It sounds totally silly, but it has worked in the past for me.

Thanks for the advice. Come to think of it, the rise on my Zimabwe loomstates was a little low, but i put them on while they were still wet and did some squats and lunges. Seemed to help. I'll keep you posted on my efforts to save this pair
