We would need to soak and try on for sure. Or try on and then soak actually. Haha. But yeah. People need to know they have the right size, absolutely. But the remainder of ickes rules apply.

cool, I agree guys, I think that it's fair for you to be able to soak first to check for fit.
Just playing devils advocate here, but say they don't fit....then what? Is anyone going to be able to get another pair in the meantime that does fit before 01/01/16?

Especially with them in the store (not stock) as ready to ship before they ship preordered pairs. With this development, I went ahead and sent them an email to find out when I should expect mine to ship.

Not to worry, there's another drop of these bad larrys on the store right now.
Oops, no, that's just the overstock slims. Talk about nutbusters, I wouldn't want to see the soprano results from trying to wear that.

Not to worry, there's another drop of these bad larrys on the store right now. That's exactly what's making me uncomfortable. I'm just hoping it's not one of those situations where they had a QC issue with my pair and are avoiding telling me for a week at which point they will be gone. Edit: That's a good pun with your edited post.

Nothing sounds more enticing than taking a 45 minute cold bath in January

Not in the mail today. Looks like it'll be a Sunday soak. Most likely I'll have to order a bigger size. But we'll see.

If they've sewn up small, and they shrink well (hopefully someone is able to do a soak soon), I'll take them off your hands. I'd need a waist of 36" or less (35.5", optimum). I'm not too concerned about the thigh, as I can get into a 35 slim, sanforized. They've got 38 slim available in stock. But, it's too much of a crapshoot to back a pair blindly. Besides, I'd rather help a brah out, if they aren't going to work out.

If they measure below 36.5 I'll send them your way ($85 I'll pay shipping). How's that sound? You might be able to get more shrink with a Hot soak.

I just got back from a trip to Vegas and my American Antiques were here awaiting my arrival. I opted only one size up (34 slim vs 33 slim). Overall, here's the measurement right out of the bag:
Waist: 16 3/4" across (33.5 pre soak) Thigh: 11" Knee: 8" Opening: 7.5"
They fit perfectly pre-soak. Well, aside from length. I'm guessing only 1 size of shrink will come and maybe I do the two part soak: 1. Cold soak for the waist with something at about 33.5" across to keep the waist livable. 2. Hot soak the rest to shorten them up a little.
Aside from that, the weft is way more brown than G showed in their pics.

Just got mine. I'm a little nervous. I went up to 38 slim from my usual 36 slim, but these are coming in at 37.5" if I stretch them and the rise already feels lower than a lot of the 36s I have. Not gonna lie--the top button needed some elbow grease... I might do what matt is doing and cold soak the top block and hot soak the legs. This is about the third or fourth pair of denim that has come in at least an inch under what the size guide says. Pretty frustrating. But let the games begin. Whenever we decide they actually begin. I do love the color on these, though. Midnight blue with bronzish-brown weft with just a little show-through. They feel super lightweight after iron hearts, and a just little lighter than 501 STFs. Here's hoping they don't shrink too much!

matt does the brown weft show through to the front side at all? No, not pre-soak at least. It's super inky - reminds me of the Italian midnights I have. I'm guessing it will be a smurf murder when they do get soaked. I forgot to add: Front rise pre-soak is 9.75" I'm okay with this but going to plan a little before I do the official soak. I don't know if it's return worthy. It's not like the Cone BluexBlacks...although they could have been if I had ordered a 33 slim. Does G get confused when they instruct the sewers on denim? Do they tell them "hey, this will shrink up 2-3 inches...so sew them up tighter for people who don't listen to our instructions"?

matt does the brown weft show through to the front side at all? Let me restate...in the light, I can see some of the beige/brown weft in the weave of the fabric. It looks cool. I wasn't in good light when I first responded.

It's been my theory for a while now that the sew shop is interpreting the instruction on these backwards, as in gustin tells them that people are having to size up so that they will fit post-soak and the sew shop hears that they need to put a smaller waist on them. It's almost the only thing that would explain the consistent waist sizing issues with these, and the common length issues. Fingers crossed that mine will work out alright, maybe I'll go with wearing them raw and never washing if they don't? I'm curious to see shrink figures.

Edit: If they wind up in my hands, they will certainly get a nice long hot bath. I've backed both loomstates from G. Both 38 straight (37.5" waist). I had to hot(110°F) soak them for an hour, or so, just to get them to around a 36" waist.
