Yeah.. I think it's more a function of the operator, rather than fabric in the case of the GxB 'boners. I think that's the case for all of them, I think the fabric weight causing sizing weirdness is a myth.

Doesn't help that G perpetuates the idea of fabric related variation in some product descriptions.

Regarding the shirts, maybe it's something in the water (or the weed) out there that makes a patterned shirt an impossibility. The Purple / Sky Gingham I got from Taylor Stitch has wavy-yoke, so I'm seeing about returning it, though I know they get weird about last call stuff, but if I end up eating it and the monster plaid arrives as a wonk-monster, I'm likely done with shirts out of San Francisco. Got four shirts from Ralph Lauren*, India, Sri Lanka, China, Phillipines, and only one has a slight pocket alignment issue that you can't see.
*By the way, the shirt I got under the Denim and Supply marque is pretty damn cool, even though the RRL-envy side of me tells me that D&S is inferior.

Hey all, my son wants the Gustin 'Boner jeans. Anyone care to comment on sizing of these? Run true or? Thanks! Which boners, the postal? Gustin's been pretty well nailing the fit guide on my 35 and 36 Straights since late summer, with the exception of the cuff consistently being about 1-1.5" smaller than advertised. I think that almost has to be an intentional change to the cut of the Straights that hasn't been publicly acknowledged or reflected in the fit guide as yet.

You're right about the cuffs. I just measured my Zim 18s and Okayamas and both of them are between 0.75 to 1" under spec but the rest of the measurements are spot on.

Don't know about you, but I feel it's very much a change for the better if it is in fact intentional. Wish they'd codify it in the fit guide if it is.

Spoke with Ren about my misaligned royal red plaid. Awesome customer service. We are working it out for a new shirt or credit.
Whoever says Gustin doesn't stand behind their products or CS is poor hasn't spoken to them in a civil manner. Just stinks we have to use CS so much. Hopefully they will be getting better with shirts at this sew shop.

I honestly thought they'd nail down the QC on the patterned shirts shortly after people started posting pictures. It seems like it's getting worse. There's even a thread in search of a non F'ed-up one. Sad. Wait until the ThThomas Mason flannel shirts start shipping . . .

I noticed that the Thom Mason thing didn't exactly catch on, one run and then silence.

If the Thomas Mason shirts are screwed up that would be a big black eye. Old26 Yeckel was trying to talk bad about CS a bit ago. Just have to be civil and butter them up!

of course brentkuz uses the word 'butter' 73% more than anyone else on the forum...anyone with that much butter aggression is surely a closeted butterist

What is wrong with you guys? Yesterday was nipple and milk. Today is butter. Why I cannot talk about my work shirt?

I think QC is the problem or lack thereof... People make mistakes so not every shirt is gonna be perfect, But it's Gustin's job to check for said mistakes I stayed in on the Monster Twill. It's going back if it's awful, but I agree here. Gustin forces their vendor to eat the cost on a couple runs, vendor either A) fixes, or B) stops being the vendor. What I'm trying to say is no vendor is perfect... There will be mistakes... I'm sure even the sewer's at Iron Heart make mistakes on their garments from time to time... But they wouldn't sell them that way... I'm sure Iron Heart scraps shirts that aren't up to spec... Say Gustin makes 100 Monster twill shirts in the run a certain percentage will be mess-ups... Anyway that's the case in most manufacturing

I received a package this morning; I haven't had a chance to open it yet, but I think it has the veg tan patch and a couple of replacement rivets for my Zim 18s.

What is listed on the website doesn't hold true always. this is especially true since they have the stock store up and running. they seem much more willing to offer refunds and other alternatives other than strictly store credit now.

Yeah, but I just assume that anything I order from the stock store will be someone else's returns.

FWIW I know for certain the three items I have returned for being off-spec were not re-sold in the stock store. I think when a person returns something because they don't like the color or fit, but the garment is on spec, those go to stock. Also, I'm guessing a good portion of them are items they allowed people to "mercy cancel" after they had already gone to production.

If this were to be true, then it's more probable to receive a on-spec garment from the stock.
