You might want to check out the Pike Bros N1. Although they don't offer a distressed version, they have a waxed version, along with the standard N1, and their sizes will accommodate up to a 59" chest.

sizing advice on the N-1 is to go up 6-8" from your chest size due to the lining.

sizing advice on the N-1 is to go up 6-8" from your chest size due to the lining. Great advice. My Pike N1 is an XL, which has a 26"p-p, and it fits great. I am a 44.5" chest, and normally a 52" jacket would be large on me, but with the pile wool lining, its money. Just enough room to layer a heavy wool shirt, or flannel underneath, but still fits well with just a t shirt.

I'm thinking of getting one but probably the natural tan colored one. I'm in the great Midwest tundra land. How's this for warmth? I'm assuming good but any first hand experience?

I have the higher spec BR non-seawashed version, which is the same except for the finish. It's pretty damned warm, but you might want to think about protecting your neck at the front if conditions warrant it, as it's cut quite low there. The cuffed sleeves, thickish outer and warm alpaca make sure it's pretty warm.
As for size, I'm a 40 and got the L which fits well. Anything bigger and I've have been swimming in it and would need a bulky layer to pad it out, which would then make it too warm for comfort.

Is it this one? If so what do you wear in Gustin or IH. Or if not too personal, your height/weight/chest size? Thinking of getting this as it just my style and a good "regular" every day jacket that is a necessity in my part of the frozen world. Thanks wdw

mkeview , this is what I bought. It's meant to have better alpaca, zip and outer, but I doubt if anyone would notice. Here's a fit pic from when I got it. It's an L, and I wear L in IH, and am 5'11", 40 chest and about 170lbs.

I have an XL in the IH 127 but I feel like the large might fight me as I'm basically the same size as you. Does it have space or is it fitted? wdw

mkeview, the 40/L is 23" across the chest, to the base of the arm seam. I tested it there with an IH 12oz L shirt and a t-shirt and the fit is just right. Neither fitted nor too spacious. I could wear a thin fleece or vest as well. One thing, the sleeves are nicely long, but if I had a larger size they'd look stupid.

That's wdw for the help. I think I'm going to go with large. I feel the rakuten price is a good deal and I already bought from rodeo bros and trust them and happy with their service.

Thanks wdw I believe this is the lighter weight version, with the heavier Demotex version pricing out over 500 bucks. I'd go with the heavier version, if you want the best thermal action. I have a Pike Bros, which I believe to be like the heavier Buzz jacket, and wore it today out at Red Rocks, Co. and was nice and comfortable at 5 degrees. I had a 14oz. wool CPO under the jacket. I can close the collar button with an IH UH flannel on, but not with my CPO, but I just flip up the collar of the shirt, and all is good. These are awesome jackets, and look cool at the same time!

not sure if you're looking to have stenciling on the coat or not, but be careful if you're not...

I think a XL buzz would fit me. Possibly the XXL but I think on the safe side XL would work.

not sure if you're looking to have stenciling on the coat or not, but be careful if you're not... About the stencilling, my jacket above had "USN" stencilled over the left chest (to the right in the pic) but I simply rubbed it off with hot water and a towel.

Can anyone explain the difference between the deck jacket br12030 and 12032? There's a $200 difference between the 2 models on rakuten but is go with the more expensive one if I knew why

The one I have above is the 12032. I saw a comparison somewhere before I bought it, and basically every single material used is better than the cheaper version - thicker jacket outer, higher quality 100% natural alpaca, better zip and whatever the heck "Demotexed" means.
The obvious difference is the alpaca colour, with the cheaper one being grey, and maybe the stencilling on the dearer one being more worn looking, but other than that I doubt anyone would notice at 50 yards. I suppose it could be like the difference between some G and IH gear, looks similar but the dearer one often just looks and feels that little bit better.
But the Pike Bros gear seems good at a lower cost too.

I'm pulling the trigger. Rakuten suggested XL. I and a large slim in G. My chest p2p is 41.25-5 and the BR sight days I'm XL. I'm worried I might be swimming in it. I'm also 33 slim in G pants. I'm also afraid large might be too tight. Size guide says large is like 23.25 for chest. 5 inches enough extra room? Or move up and get 7 inches extra. Decisions...

Tricky. You sound totally borderline My only G shirt is a large regular, which is fine. I'm also 34 regular in G. When in doubt, probably best to size up and use a thin layer if necessary, but only you can make that call.

if you're wearing it for winter (which i'm assuming you are) and will be wearing sweaters, i'd go xl for sure.
i'm an xxl in buzz rickson's coats/jackets and am an XL in G's shirts.
