I’ll say too that 3sixteen is good at developing unique colorways and fabrics. It’s what separates them from other denim companies. IH does this too It's just hard for me to justify a flannel now a days. Thing has to be a crazy cool pattern for me. Sold off all my IH expect one. Doing the same with FH. I wish a brand would make a chamois Woolrich style shirt, that fits better than a Woolrich. The one I have is disintegrating with it being so old and a hand me down. Have you found something you like better than the IH and FH offerings in regards to Flannel? Just curious why you’d sell them all but have a hard time justifying more! FWIW I really like my vintage LL Bean chamois shirts. I agree they fit a little big but I bought them on the bay, went by measurements, and sized down. I only have 2 but I really like them both.

Very hunky, disheveled.
True story; my mom also has great style so we talk clothes. I showed her some photos a while ago of the highly esteemed disheveled, and she exclaimed, “he should be a model!”
Looks like we’re one step closer! 😉

Great thread! I don’t have any particular brands other than maybe LL Bean (I have mostly vintage ones) But I do love sweaters and have quite a few. Sweater and slacks with a collared shirt was a staple of mine before going down the forum rabbit hole a few years ago and it’s a forever classic.
I have a few from LL Bean that I particularly love though, I’ll post a few pics soon!

I showed the image to Tom san whilst I was in Kojima yesterday. She was appalled and is going to beat up on the workshop we use. Despite the jokers suggesting we use the QC folks from Gustin, I checked that too - she does not know who Gustin is..... Love it! IH has one of, if not the best QC out there. Of all my IH purchases (a bunch) I’ve only had one QC issue and they promptly took care of it for me. With their level of customer service even if you did have QC issues I’m certain they would make it right.

Great looking collars. Is this why you like Ratio? I've ordered one white FC shirt from Proper Cloth and have to send it back to have it taken in, but I'm looking to find a go-to for custom OCBDs and Gustin fit also doesn't quite work for me.

Heading to D.C. this Tuesday through Saturday myself! How was your trip? It was awesome! There's so much amazing history, architecture, food and drink there. I rode the subway all over, walked all around the National Mall many times (It's where Forrest ran to Jenny, never forget ) and saw most of the monuments at night and day - the Library of Congress may have been my favorite location as I am a book lover but it could be enjoyed by anyone as it is breathtakingly beautiful. I went to several of the Smithsonian museums and spent a good amount of time at Old Ebbitt Grill near the White House (a very nice and historical place with excellent and interactive bartenders), as well as a few different coffee shops (Northside Social Coffee and Wine usually, or Republik coffee). I wanted to go to ChurchKey but I didn't have time (supposed to have a TON of beers there). Highline RxR was a rooftopish indoor/outdoor bar recommended by a guy I rode with in an UberPool and was near one of my hotels in Crystal City and it was a fun place. I also went to Capital City Brewing and had a less than stellar waiting experience but it was still pretty good and came highly recommended from a new local acquaintance. I talked to strangers, activists, charities and homeless people and met some other really great people that I think I will be meeting again the future. I actually feel like I left a little piece of my heart there. I've never lived in the city, always in the countryside, but if I ever do move to a city it's now number 2 on my list of favorites. There is SO much going on there. Anyone should make a trip to Washington D.C. area if they can - it's lively, very clean and well kept and one of the most influential places the world has ever known. I will be making more trips there for sure as there is so much I didn't see (and I don't think you could ever see it all there.) It's one of those places you can just spend time standing on the sidewalk or sitting on a bench taking in the whole thing and the history of it all (and I did this too!) If you can you should go lay on the grass outside the Washington Monument and stare up at it - it's a great place to think. I didn't do much shopping other than stepping into a very large Nordstrom Rack downtown to use the bathroom - but I'm sure there's lots of great stuff. I believe Alexandria may have lots of boutiques from what I was hearing but they may not be what you are looking for - Alexandria is still beautiful I hear though - old original cobblestone streets and everything. It's one of the places I'm going for sure when I go back. Be sure to post how your visit goes!!

Thanks for the info, I've always been more into IH westerns than work shirts so that works out perfectly. All of their smalls have fit pretty well so far and I now realize I should have gotten the 62 is small as well. I'll just have to wait and see the 180/181 myself to determine if they come up short, and next time I visit japan I'll see if the 127 fits myself. Ive also been looking at their sweaters, I don't have any good ones and dont wear them much anymore but the turtleneck looks nice. The beauty of IH is the resale value. You can always sell your medium 62, recoop a good portion of the cost and buy a small. I just sold my used 107 for 225.00. Not too shabby. +1 for sure - I've let the thought that "if this doesn't work out I can always sell it" help push me over the edge on many IH purchases. Nice sale too there ickes love a business transaction with two very happy parties I feel like certain items may actually almost increase in value or be worth retail or more over time...I would feel a little bad trying to sell something I had worn for more than it was new, but with the rarity of certain items, something that people sleep on, etc., it can make certain things reach an almost hallowed like status which I think will increase over time. It helps most of their stuff is built to wear for a lifetime.

I'm ok with whatever Ciano feels he needs to charge for his product - he puts out quality and I understand he has to make a living too. I support businesses like his and he's a super nice guy too, so that doesn't hurt! I don't have a lot of Ciano gear yet, partially due to the wait - but I'm planning to get custom patterns made for several products of his in the near future. I plan to just order and let it slip my mind!

Also not a sawtooth guy...it would be very hard to talk me into it no matter the fabric. Maybe someday though but I don't think so, as the standard western is bold enough for me. ickes really nailed it with his response, as well as davelewis@furu if you are particularly worried about a certain measurement, the guys at IHUK have always been more than willing to measure individual items to see if one comes up differently than the others. In my experience so far there have been semi-considerable differences here and there if you are particularly worried about a certain measurement so that may help you. I'm 6'3" and have several UHF westerns in XXXL and I wouldn't consider any of them too short for me - I hand wash cold and hang dry to maintain measurements also on most of my stuff or at most delicate on cold with no/low spin and hang dry. hope the flannels will work for you, they are an IH staple!

Are the flannels as much of a relaxed fit as they look? They seem short too. For reference I've gotten an IHSH 07 and 134 in small and they fit well, but the IHSH 62 in medium was too wide in the body/arms. I can only justify one or two IH flannels and I'm aiming for the 180, 181 or 127 (purple) as they're the most unique styles. From my understanding the work shirt version is usually more relaxed than the western. I'm 6'3" and haven't had any problems with length but I'm buying either XXL or XXXL fwiw. I have the 07, 62ind (one of my most worn) and the purple and red 127s and have no complaints or major deviations on fit for any of them.

bentin that's some unique imagery (and I think pretty valid)! Maybe Gustin should freelance you to do some product descriptions! lol. "Our favorite jacquards are those that manage to use a woven pattern to add texture without being over the top. This American made fabric nails it. It's the type of vintage quality your grandfather may have found in his favorite jazz bar - this fabric can disguise and distract from even the dingiest pit stains, nicotine stains, and most other bodily stains - but don't expect it to get compliments whilst doing so." I opted for this Black/Plum instead: www.weargustin.com/store/5771 Thanks for the reminder. I grabbed one of these as well. I like that fabric weight a lot from G. "Thanks for the reminder." LOL so northcoast was already aware of the jazz curtain, and had simply forgotten. Just to clarify, you grabbed the swanky jacquard or the black/plum?
