I thought the 277 had more taper? That looks like my 575's lower leg.

I thought the 277 had more taper? That looks like my 575's lower leg. Yes still a bit too large. This photo was just after I received them. What is surprising to me is that the fit feels almost like a pair of Levi's I had years ago. I think after the first soak and dry they will fit me a little tighter.

That two tone back pocket looks horrible Yeah, I don't get these. The Tanuki collab that's just the secret denim in Tanuki's fit is pretty cool.

Interview with oni founder on Reddit - an short interesting read A short, interesting read doesn't surprise. Oishi-san is known to be quite secretive. Have you got a link ?

@scooter - I tried to attach the link but couldn't from my phone. If you go to reddit raw denim, it's near the top

Oni owners- did anyone purchase theirs as a "one wash" option? If so, did you soak a second time? Did you get any additional shrink?
Debating my options here.

My original 22oz Kabuki Vedge were one wash. They were the 575 cut, which is fairly relaxed. After a couple months of wear, the waist had stretched out about a 1/2", and I really wanted to try and tighten them up, not only in the waist, but all over. I gave them a 90 minute soak, at around 100-110*F. They shrunk 1/8" to 1/4" smaller than original specs. Negligible, at best. Note: That was the only soak I ever gave them. I did not agitate, or tumble dry them. So, I can't say that it isn't possible to get more shrinkage, using those methods.

Thanks guys. I'm between a non-wash and one wash pair at the moment, just seeing how much more shrink would be attainable if I opted for the slightly cheaper one wash. I think I'll go with the non-wash and get them dialed in to my liking. I'm opting for these over the G loomies (too many variables, I'll go with what works).

I'm either going with the 512's 16.5 "relaxed taper" but am also strongly considering the low tension 626 17's in a skinny taper. I like the less baggy thigh and with a low tension, I may be able to dial these in perfectly with some wear/stretch. The 626 appears to be in-line with the Tanuki's I'm thinking about trying out in the near future too. (a grand finale before I go on a no spend)

i got the 506ZR's non-washed. they got 1 initial soak when i got them. i should have taken pre/post measurements...but was lazy and just started wearing them. they're easily my current favorite pair...though i am awaiting on a replacement pair of pbj xx-020s from denimio (sizing issue)...so perhaps they'll be dethroned in the future.
good luck with your decision

All things I read on Oni's is that they are easily a favorite pair once dialed in with fit. So I'm probably over analyzing at this point, but trying to get it right so I can kick back and enjoy the wear. Besides, there's a little less guesswork with this than the damn Loomstates.

Both my 575 (once washed) and 546 (raw) are right on the BiG measurements post soak. I've got a lot of wear on my 575's and they're about an inch bigger in the waist now, but should shrink back once they're washed again. Err on the tight side for the waist, all Oni stretch a good bit in the waist. The belt loops aren't sewn in and the poly cotton thread is reasonably stretchy.

I'm referencing the fit guides on BiG and other places (Denimio, Tate & Yoko) to get an average sense of fit and shrink. The 626's aren't on BiG, so I'll try to get a general sense of what to expect. The 626's surprisingly have the most consistent fit guide from my research compared to some of the more popular models discussed here and on reddit.

So what's the scoop on these ONI inseams? The measurements around the web are quite short in comparison. Some starting out 34" raw and shrinking to 32" or less post soak. Not to mention sub 10" front rise. I'm not sure my jewels and long legs can handle these guys.

Both of mine are over 34" post soak and have a good bit more ride than that, 546 and 575 fit.

that's good to hear. some of the posted specs, especially on Denimio had me a little concerned. I've been specifically looking at Indigo X Indigo fits (516IDID, 612IDID, 512IDID)

I've been kicking around the 512 14oz idid's and sounds like they're 36-36.5" pre soak and most folks are getting them to right at 34" post soak. Tate and Yoko has the 17oz and lists a 37" inseam and 34.5" inseam for different fits. Definitely confusing. Rodeo Bros has the 612's at the shorter length too. Price is nice, but I don't need capris. global.rakuten.com/en/store/auc-rodeo/item/oni-612idid/Aha, was about to really panic as the 512's are listed as 8cm shorter, or right at 33", but then realized that both RB measurements are for once washed. global.rakuten.com/en/store/auc-rodeo/item/oni-512idid/
