Would he also cut the pockets differently? More like a regular chino slash pocket? If so, I'd be interested if he could do that plus bar tacks.

I have a pair of the charcoal being made right now. I might ask him to do the bar tacks on them. Once I get them I will post pics.

Yeah, I can't really do brass tacks in the office. It feels like someone needs to step in at this time and mention that he uses copper rivets, not brass. The tops of them are finished with little Ciano c's.

I tend to prefer the off seam pockets that Ciano uses, as I find they are easier to get your hands in and out of them, plus the pocket doesn't flare out as much when you sit. I think the duck fabric makes a great pair of chinos for everything except possibly an office environment, where a nice twill would be preferrable. I really like my Orche pair from Ciano, and am expecting an Army Green pair soon!

Here's some pics of my chinos. The Moss [Military Olive] have the copper rivets and the Indigo Selvedge have the bar tacks.

It's definitely an interesting color and moves away from what one typically thinks of as a "chino."

Another month past and I have not seen any progress or picture of my 12oz Chino ... was told to hold on for news tomorrow .... unfortunately that was over 2 weeks ago.
I came from the LD fiasco over to Ciano as he offered custom Chinos ... please let it happen.

overdrawn, any of the guys here who've dealt with Ciano will confirm that you absolutely will get what you ordered, no doubt about that. He won't do an LD on you, or anyone else. Realistically though, his order book must be getting fuller, which can only mean increasing delivery times unless he's able to take on more staff.

Realistically though, his order book must be getting fuller, which can only mean increasing delivery times unless he's able to take on more staff. I would try sending another email as yours could have gotten missed in all the shuffle. They had flooding issues and then they also have gotten a rash of emails with inquiries from lawless customers to fix items that had issues. Also inquiries to make items they don't currently make, shirts etc or to make things from fabrics they don't have on hand. Unfortunately they are not able to do these things but place an order from what they have on their website and you should get it within their listed production time. I guess it is good they are getting lots of inquiries but they are a small shop and going through the emails slows things down a little and they are not used to it.

Ciano is SOLID. My last chino order is at 3 months, but I know I will get them. Their backlog has increased substantially over the last 6 mos, and with their flooding issues that happened, are just working hard to catch up. You WILL get your stuff!

My Texas denim are in route. I was to receive them yesterday, but the USPS decided to bypass Arizona and send them to California first (even though all shipping information clearly states my address). I should have them no later than Tuesday.
Consider it's a 2 man shop. They are doing everything (production, shipping, communication). I know we are all scorned by Lawless, but these guys are producing. They are just slammed thanks to their own quality work.
Maybe try calling, that seems to work better for others.

Mmmmh, anothe week and 3 mails sent .... noe response since weeks. waiting for a 12oz Selvedge Chino with customised 40" inseame. overdRAWn Ok, please know that I am saying this in a very friendly tone, because that can be lost over the internet: You really are gonna need to be patient with this one. He has his production time clearly marked on the top of his page. It's super clear from the get go that this is not fast fashion, and that it really is a tailored-for-you service that he's providing. You probably knew that going in. If you needed pants fast, it might have been advisable that you should have gone elsewhere. People here have already informed you that with Ciano, you WILL get you paid for...and then some. But you WILL have to wait for it. It's just the nature of the beast with a two-man operation that are handmaking items JUST for you. That is an exciting thought, and one worth waiting for. He likely doesn't have time to get back to all communications because of all of the makin' of clothes going on. Ciano WILL NOT disappear on you, though. He has been in the clothes-making business a long time. You will get your items and you will love them. If not right away, eventually after requested tweaks are made. Everything is copacetic. Trust us.

Ciano has definitely been quiet lately. I miss his enthusiasm when he shows loads of pics of new items he's made, as that really shows how one-on-one the whole process is, and it makes the recipient feel like he's getting something special. Compare that to LD grabbing any old random material off the floor and playing blind man's buff with the components and pattern. I'm guessing Ciano's totally snowed under and just wading through a mountain of orders. I have his 23oz indigos on order, and am interested to see how he copes with the heavier denim.
