hello Everyone.. we just made a Selvage Herringbone Chino for a customer with our tailored waistband and loved it so much that we are going to start making these in different fabrics. This will be alot different than the G version..we are tring to do this with an old school feel...40's flavor.. so every detail we will try to capture the 40's feel…but with some mods…. we are working on a IND/IND JPN selvage version with tonal stitching..I think is going to be beautiful...we are pricing this out around 95USD-98USD.. Here is the version the customer wanted ...Mike wanted to add the cinch back with the suspenders buttons..but he opted out. this will be an option...all inclusive in the prices.. we are still tring to get the 5/8" [ 4 hole] COROZO buttons for the inside suspender buttons..but this will be an option on the inside or outside.... we like the outside like the old school version.. i would love your feed back on what we should add or change so we can make this better ……... Mike said one thing for sure ...we will not make these in fabrics that do not flavor the period or look..... here are some pics of the first version... CINCH BACK here are two versions for placement...Mike and i like the second one because this is close to the vintage version..the buckle ….we will use is a solid brass Civil War buckle.. please disregard the button..we know it is too big..the correct size should be a 4 hole 5/8" button... so this will be optional at no additional cost.. here are some pics of the actual Chino the customer requested..we will be posting the IND/IND JPN selvage version.. these are just some quick pics..I will have better pics... I just want to Thank everyone and the Moderators for the support …this forum inspires us to think outside the box….Also let me know if i posted this incorrectly on this board..I do not want to transcend forum rules... Cheers Ciano

Those are amazing. Truly. Love all the details. Those would pair nicely with just a plain tee actually.

very beautiful job ciano, as usual !!! It should be really nice in IxI with tonal thread... Just a question for my personnal knowledge : what is the aim of the 2 buttons up to the cinch back and these in the inside tailored waist? cheers

The inside ones are the "modern" style. I think those buttons are just placed there for reference.

cianofarmer I would opt for no belt loops if you are going to have suspender buttons and a cinch. I don't know that I need three methods for keeping my pants up all on the same pair. Also, if you go with placement 2 on the cinch it doesn't look like you could easily wear a belt. If I'm recalling correctly, dress slacks from that time often opted for side adjusters and did not have belt loops. Of course they also tended to be a lot higher waisted. These would look awesome in a nice rich green selvedge fabric.

Ok thanx, now i know what is "suspender", the french "bretelles" !!! For my part, i never wear suspenders, too hypster for my taste, so belt loops are fine for me... (but they look a litlle small, can they carry a 1.5" belt?) and i agree, placement #2 can be awkward for wearing a belt.

I agree with what others have said. If you rock suspenders, do away with the belt loops.

I was wondering if anyone had used the herringbone denim for chinos. Now, I see they have. And, they look great! I vote to keep the belt loops, but I can see their presence as a configuration option.

My thing is that I don't think I've ever seen cinch and belt loops, but then I am more familiar with dress slacks and not jeans. I have seen suspender buttons and belt loops and I have seen both being used at the same time (something that I never hope to see again, just pick one and be done). So I am suggesting cinch + suspender buttons, suspender buttons + belt loops, but not cinch + belt loops.

I'm not saying they didn't come that way, just that I think its a cleaner look to have one or the other. I have a pair of actual vintage trousers that do not have belt loops and they look great with suspenders.

Man. For how rare everyone says that cone mills olive over-dye is, there seems to be a heck of a lot of it around. That Kurabu green and the wabash are great, though. Any chance you guys are looking at doing shirts?

Any chance you guys are looking at doing shirts? There is only 100 yards left on that cone olive drab... as for shirts..we want to do shirts..but we still have 4 vintage machine we are looking for before we start..all our product has a lifetime guarantee and when it comes to shirts..we have to to it the right way...old school that will last 100 years...none of this mass shirt manufacturing for our shop... Mike has his great grand fathers shirts ( workwear ) from the 30's that we copied the construction..shirts where made a lot different back then..and it is still in great shape..we want to do the same... Mike has been researching this for a while and wants to do it right....old school... plus ..all due honesty ..we are still getting our jeans on the right track with everyone's comments to make them better..so we are in no rush ..so baby steps and everyones great input from the forum is what we want to make our product the best we can.. the most important to,us is to get this stuff to everyone in a timely manner...we have not been perfect but we will not take on too much to hurt our current deliveries.. but I really want to do shirts...HA cheers ciano

The jeans and pants you're making are solid work, though, and I'd hate to see you compromise that just to expand your offerings before you're ready. I like that you're continuing to develop the pants with more details, and I love the cinch-back detail. It's always a treat to see all the pictures you share, and I think it's going a long way to encourage purchases, so keep up the good work!
