New member here, after spending a lot of time reading about the trials and tribulations of others in the same boat! This is a super helpful forum, I'm glad I found it. I ordered a pair of 16.5oz kevlar jeans on February 22, thru the CROIG (Cafe Racers of Instagram) promo. On April 17 I received an email notifying that it had been sent to cutting, but since then, nothing. I purchased these with an AMEX, so I am getting ready to call AMEX and ask to open an inquiry (I cannot online, as others have mentioned). But since it's been sent to cutting, I'm somewhat holding out hope that I may eventually see a pair of jeans show up... LD has been telling most everyone for many months (think I recieved a "your order is in Cutting" 6,7 months ago). It was a simple stalling tactic.

It also appears that LD&Co has taken down their FB page which isn't surprising since they have not added to it since July 14 when they asked for more patience. I did get a charge back, so far, on two out of three items. I also got the paperwork back from the Arizona Attorney General in regards to this debacle. Very quick response.

But since it's been sent to cutting, I'm somewhat holding out hope that I may eventually see a pair of jeans show up... make the call before it's too late. i got the same cutting notification in march for my november order. i got 3 shipping notifications about something around then (your order has been partially shipped > your order has not been shipped > ...partially shipped again!) then five weeks later i wrote to say "hey - i haven't got what was apparently shipped" and roman himself said "i'll get laura to put it in the mail this week, sorry!!!!" i never received anything. when i contacted my bank, they said it had gone past the cutoff date. and after that, i wrote to them and asked for a refund. obviously haven't heard a thing. what irks me the most sometimes is that i paid like $70 in shipping fees (they were supposed to be consolidated into one order but never were of course). but they never shipped anything, so it was just free money. i held out for ages because a) the items a few others received on this forum looked fantastic and b) i liked the "vision" of training and providing work for people - i'd love to do the same thing myself. anyway. make the call. get your money back. check out the rest of this forum and buy a pair of something that actually exists from ciano, iron heart, or old blue co.

Got a letter today from the AZ AG's office today. The first paragraph says, "the Consumer Protection and Advocacy Section of our office has received your complaint. We are in the process of contacting the company to request a response. When we receive the response, we will send a copy of it to you."
I don't need to know what LD's response is, if they even get one at all. I just want the AZAG's office to do something about LD&Co defrauding customers.

AZ is pretty good in investigating consumer complaints. The more complaints they get the better. You should hear something if you stay in contact with them. You'll probably hear their results if you don't but it's better to give them a call once in awhile.

This all seems kind of futile, unless the AG has the ability to get people their money back, or extract a pound of flesh. Community service of Roman riding around Phoenix, picking up trash on the side of the roads on his Honda would be cool. Now that would make a photo shoot!

Community service of Roman riding around Phoenix, picking up trash on the side of the roads on his Honda would be cool. Now that would make a photo shoot! My reason for filing was to get him on public record as a fraudster so he can't just run from this and open a new scam. I have no idea how effective the AG office is in sharing this information or how effective the whole effort will be. If you look the guy up in public records and local media he's constantly starting companies and not following through with them. It's time his pattern gets written into the finacial /credit world so he will have to answer a few questions before securing leases and financing going forward. Additionally hes going to have a lot of collections agencys looking for him as all these chargebacks are pursued by creditors. I don't want to see the guy in jail or whatever (trash pickup is a funny vision though) but it's just business at this point, rip off a bunch of folks, deal with reprecussions. No anger, just cause and effect. He's not going to starve to death, he used to be a sommelier and has other experince. Obviously he could survive in the sales world as well, hes persuasive. Let him cool off for a while and then he can try the business owner thing again someday. Will the AG thing be effective in documenting all this? I have no idea. I did get a refund through my bank so I'm sure they'll be after him too. Glad this thing seems to be winding down. Best of luck to everyone with your refunds and other efforts.

I tried the bank. No go. Too long ago. Same here. I called the bank. Was told too long ago. What should I do now? Call Visa about this 120 days policy?

Try your bank again, be persuasive, and if they give you the runaround and the stonewall tactic again, calmly ask to speak "to your manager's manager." That always gets attention when I say it hahahaha. And if that fails, call Visa and do the same and give the same spiel again, clearly laying out how it was impossible to make a claim within the time deadline because of all of the stall techniques and delay tactics employed by Roman Acevedo, fraudster at large.

Or put it all in writing to them or to their complaints department if you've had a claim rejected (If you can find something in their terms and conditions regards the 120 day rule and any mention of 'from delivery date' for items ordered to be delivered in the future then all the better.)

Explain that this was for made to order clothing and the dates kept getting pushed out, others were getting their stuff so by the time you got suspicious it was past the 120 days and the company has now gone awol. Also, politely request to speak to a manager. The first line folks are not always so good and thinking outside the box.

interesting... there's a note on their tumblr from someone named jamison: reservoir1885.tumblr.com/all of the pictures are of dudes other than roman, i have a feeling he's too narcissistic to allow that to happen if he's involved. but judging it by its twitter and fb accounts, it is new so maybe he's laying low for a while and working behind the scenes. BTW, this Tumblr MIRACULOUSLY disappeared too!! reservoir1885.tumblr.com/

I live in Phoenix and was able to stop by and purchase a new pair of jeans in April. There were about five people assembling the jeans and a white board of orders.
My pants were a sample that I got on the spot for $100.00.
I did not know the Kickstart history, but now it makes sense to me. I must say that I truly enjoy the jeans. A few months later I purchased another pair online and had to cancel the order after two months.
The location of Lawless is not open. They moved the assembly to Tucson and closed it down weeks later.
I don't have a good feeling about this company. I only wanted a pair of jeans from my adapted home town.

It would be interesting to know if Anything has gone out, if anyone is receiving anything this week or last, from them. Did they remove all social media and the website to eliminate the constant inquiries? Maybe the are working still somewhere trying to fill the orders.

Why would they give a fig about getting orders out when they've gone completely off the grid? They didn't care when they were visible trying to build their brand and had every incentive to do so, so why would they now?

All kidding aside did Roman sell off the Pendleton "dead stock" to Gustin? Gustin's last two wool shirt offerings look like Lawless stock.

i'd say it's likely they dipped into pacific blue's mythical deadstock pool, considering how often the various dead stock fabrics seem to resurface

I'd guess it was more that Roman failed to pay Pacific Blue for it so a hold expired, or they maybe returned it, and then Gustin picked it up. I think it was actually the plaids that were purported to be deadstock, though, and not the check fabrics.

You guys are really thinking too literally about this. The RA sale concept is funnier. Consider that once G goes into production on these shirts, we will see some delay notices only to find out that RA didn't deliver the fabric to Gustin. The story never gets old!

Just received an email on Aug. 29 stating my order from November 2014 was ready for pickup. Unfortunately, they closed the shop. There's no where to pick up my order and they don't return emails.

That would almost be funny if it wasn't two parts frustrating and three parts sad.
