You beat me to the punch on this one. I'll probably get the big block as well. Comments deleted, they added a @3sixteen tag to it. Left the description the same, no indication that these are not their mills, nothing in the image is made in the USA (despite the hashtag) - not even the image. This brand is off to a heck of a start, burning one of the larger USA made brands in this little niche of the industry (3sixteen), and one of the biggest informational resources for the hobby (rawrdenim). Has anyone put this nonsense on reddit yet?

Now it sounds like R1885 will be offering 3sixteen products. Maybe we should email 3sixteen and congratulate them on there collaberation.

Does anyone know anybody at 3Sixteen or rawrdenim that can report that this company is using their images and claiming they are Kuroki Mills which has miraculously relocated to San Diego? in fairness, there's nothing specific mentioned about that photo. it's essentially being used as a stock image.

Alright guys, I guess its time to come clean, I've been monitoring these forums and couldn't help but jump in and put this thing to rest. My affiliation with Roman is there, only, it's not exactly what you guys think. This is a two man show in R1885, however, it is not with Roman, only my close friend who is a full stack developer. I recently connected with Roman to obtain some DuPont Kevlar for the jeans that we are looking to produce, I'm buying the kevlar off him as well as another source (A company that was rooted into the moto world that unfortunately may be closing doors soon) As far as the imagery, I will be doing a mix of sourcing imagery and putting up imagery i took while creating editorials and stories with the 3 years I've been blogging on Whiskey Grade. What he does with the money I am paying for the kevlar is up to him. I will recommend he use it to get your products out. 3Sixteen has been in talks in carrying their product in our Cleveland Brick and Mortar. I know Andrew, he's a great guy and it would be an honor down the road to collaborate with him. So, many of you were right. RA was involved to an extent that, he has sourced me fabric for my moto inspired kevlar line. HOWEVER, he has nothing to do with my brand, and it's upsetting to see the attacks on my brand as I'm new and trying to build this again. The imagery will be sourced. Many of it from articles that i wrote or featured on Whiskey Grade to give people a feel and idea of what the brand will become. How can we believe anything you tell us when you just came out and admitted that you were lying to us yesterday? You are off to a terrible start.

Hey maybe jvmison can explain this photo? jvmison would you care to try and explain? I would LOVE to hear what you have to say. That much could be innocent...because these are the looms some of the japanese fabrics they will be offering are made? Possible the intent wasn't to mislead people into thinking this is their workspace

We will be looking to offer Kuroki Denim, so that is why i sourced to image to give people a "tease" of the denim will will be offering. also, like many brands based in the USA, using the hashtag #madeinusa, doesn't necessarily mean that mill was in the US, it meant that the fabric is sourced and the product itself will be cut and sewn in the USA.

You lost credibility here - and if you don't understand why, then I get the sense that your business sense is not much better than RA's. Sorry, but where I sit, you thought you could just BS and as Mr. Clinton did, you just got in deeper. Good luck. I feel you'll need it.

I don't agree. By adding #madeinUSA there is a lot being implied. Also "Putting the mills to work with some of the upcoming pieces we are designing." implies that this is an image of fabric being made for Reservoir1885. They've already deleted my comment, no response, surprisingly no ban (not that I'm trying for a ban). They know what they're saying with this, and the message being relayed is absolutely dishonest. I'm not going to make assumptions that give a person that previously worked for an online clothing manufacturer/seller the leeway of inexperience in communicating through social media. Especially to the point of assuming they don't know what hashtags mean, and that they don't know they're implying that this is an image of mills making fabric for them.

I dunno bout you guys, but I could go for some leggings kale chips tousled pork belly and some 90’s tofu food truck chambray right about now. I'm famished. I've been doing that Echo Park master cleanse for a week, and it's really catching up with me. Plus, today I've been making my shabby chic raw denim narwhal (YOLO taxidermy!), and it's gotten me hungry. Earlier today I attended my first course in "Austin semiotics four dollar toast art party bicycle rights", which is way harder than I thought it would be. It wore me out, and I couldn't focus...ya know...on a count of the Echo Park master cleanse...so halfway through I put on my brunch wayfarers, slung my freegan crucifix tote bag over my shoulder, and headed down to my local mustache gastropub for a sustainable kitsch single-origin coffee and talked with my favorite skateboard VHS locavore, Schlitz Godard. Good ol' Schlitz. Always wearing his fanny pack Pitchfork leggings and crunching on his Biodiesel vinyl quinoa.............Pinterest. Underrated post. You've reached peak abstract anti hipster sarcasm.

Many of it from articles that i wrote or featured on Whiskey Grade to give people a feel and idea of what the brand will become. Thank you for the follow up. I think you're going to receive quite a bit of flack for "coming clean". You will be judged harshly because there appears to be a good deal of circumstantial (and substantial) evidence that there are some form of ties between you and Roman. It looks like a cover up, and many people here have been romanced by Roman's lies and have paid a steep monetary and time price in the process. Sad to say, but you are in a very hard place right now. Any admitted ties to Roman will hurt you in this community's eyes. And, any ties that are covered up will ultimately be uncovered and you will be judged all the worse for them. I don't envy you or your position. However, before you judge this community harshly, please take a moment to look over the second post in this forum thread: selvedgestyle.com/thread/1075/lawless-outstanding-orders-thread-instructionsThat is a detailed list of everything (that we know of) that Roman owes to members of this forum. Just members of this forum. That is a substantial amount of product that has been paid for and has been "in the pipeline" for up to 10/11 months at this point. And, Roman appears to have no desire or ability to fulfill or refund those orders. That list is just for forum members. It's likely that there are quite a few more orders out in the wild for members of other forums, random internet buyers, cafe racer groups that got pulled into the scheme, etc. I think you can see why this community is taking the magnifying glass to you and your operations. It isn't anything personal, but too many simularities in style, odd coincidences (Lawless bounced emails coming from your email domain), and your earlier cover ups/evasiveness just feed fuel to the fire for those who have been burned before. So, please do not judge this community poorly, but do realize where we are all coming from.

Between the mixture of not knowing everything RA has done, and trying to keep the products I am looking to produce, secretive. This is kind of a strange answer. One would assume that the ONLY reason you denied being tied to Roman in any way was because you knew exactly what he's done over the past few months. Secondly, if you're trying to keep your products secretive then why throw up kevlar denim (materials sourced by our good buddy Roman) on your beta site? Doesn't seem very secretive.

Come clean from the start and you still have some credibility, and possibly people who are willing to patronize your business. Try to dupe a community that has already seen enough bullsh* from Roman Acevedo, Lawless Denim / LD&Co failed business man extraordinaire, and have a nice day. You've already shown enough, that you lack proper business sense, and that you're willing to lie to an entire community of potential customers. Now move along, jvmison, you're not getting sh* from this community.

Well, Reading through over 100 pages of this forum after I signed up when someone mentioned something on the Instagrammed made me feel like "Now I'm knee deep in shit by association" Second, that test site that you found blows my mind, as I bought a cheap domain to build off of and never thought it would pop up in google. At least not right away. The strange thing about this is that Reservoir1885 was only found because your cheap domain popped up in the headers of an undeliverable returned message sent to an address @ldandco.us . This is what tied you to them, and before the damage control explanations (that you've since stated were not true), was the only piece of circumstantial evidence. I know you're not the first company to put images of Steve McQueen on instagram to describe brand sensibilities, and I know they've since been removed, but you used images very much inline with those that were used on the now private ldandco instagram. When someone has made of with a couple hundred of my dollars and called me a hater for wanting goods, it becomes really difficult to overcome so much circumstantial evidence. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you're involved with them in any way other than that you've disclosed today, you've already seen the damage the man has done to his name and everything he touches, please understand that all the criticism is well founded. Roman used the people on this forum to bolster his brand and failed to deliver on nearly every promise made to forum members here, people on instagram, the majority of people on styleforum, and they have some 75 comments that they've moderated out on their latest/last facebook post -- presumably because they're along the same lines of everywhere else this brand has a presence. I'm guessing the funding of their latest round of shipping was paid by you, unless you haven't paid him yet, in which case several people are thankful to you. If you're being honest about your brand, and honestly trying to get a new thing started independent of Lawless Denim, Roman Acevedo, any of his partners, or the ldandco.us debacle, I wish you the best of luck. If you are working with them, then understand the poisoned well you're getting into, and seriously assess whether you want to be involved with that in any way.
