About a month ago I half-jokingly said I expected my 5 November mid-700s order to come end Feb, after about 4 months (on a claimed 6-8 week turnaround). Now I'm pretty sure that's pie in the sky and basically it'll be another month at least, taking us to around 5 months/20+ weeks. I also crazily have a 2400+ order, which a couple of weeks ago I again half-jokingly said may come early July, after 5 months. Now that seems optimistic. LD are still taking orders and building up a huge bow-wave, so I think we should be told if there are any concrete steps that'll be taken in the very near future to resolve this or is it just going to keep going from bad to worse. What order numbers are they on now? Where do they expect to be at end February, end March??? I'm glad for them that their order book's full and I wish them every success, but I think we deserve more information, especially given the huge amount of support and goodwill that's come from this forum. But then I gather this forum only accounts for about 200 out of the thousands of buyers they have, so small beer in the scale of things. I dont think my order (697) will arrive until mid Summer/Fall..

At this rate, my order number in 1300 of 18.5 Kuroki should be here just in time for next winter. i'm in the 1300's as well for my British millerain oiled/lined cruiser (order placed Nov.29th). I too am now figuring I won't get this until early summer or fall at best. I don't know whether I should laugh or cry Are you going to keep this order? I am in the same boat and what the hell am I going to do with a flannel lined waxed jacket in July? I am being very patient with everything else but this one I might have to bail on.

I am being very patient with everything else but this one I might have to bail on. i'm trying my best to be cautiously optimistic. I think i'm going to keep the order if only because 1) it was incredibly inexpensive and 2) I don't have a spring/fall jacket in navy that is lined. on the one hand, I won't need the jacket with summer just around the corner, but then again, I won't need any of my jackets. I could've gone with Gustin's lined trucker but I already have their unlined version, so it seemed redundant to get the same coat with lining. I think LD is in a very precarious situation right now and they have to make better and more sound business decisions if they want to be successful and taken seriously as a brand. I think everyone unanimously agrees that the 50% promos need to stop until they get their ducks in a row and old orders fulfilled. If they continue offering steep discounts on product their backlog will never end and everyone will feel resentful and bail. I think the only thing standing between LD and the mob with pitchforks is Sal. He seems to be doing his best to put out the flames whenever they pop up. I feel bad for him that he has to do damage control and be apart from his family for long periods of time. I think he's under just as much stress for trying to figure things out, not to mention being bombarded with constant order questions. I'm sure he's well aware of LD's logistical problems and that they're doing what they can under current circumstances.

He seems to be doing his best to put out the flames whenever they pop up... i agree, but wonder what's happening for the customers that don't frequent this place or know how to contact him? are they getting responses via email or the online chat? we are likely the vocal minority of their customer base...if that larger segment is simply left wondering where their orders are well after the proposed timelines it could result in not only mass cancellations, but non-repeat business.

I'm just trying to put things into perspective. Sal was brought on as an employee only recently, so considering that, I think he's done a tremendous job addressing the backlog issues in an open and honest way. He may not be here 100% of the time to answer questions but as I stated before, he does have to sleep and be with his family. I hope LD is paying him well for his work because without him LD would be in bigger trouble than they're in now.

I see rumblings over at Style Forum too, with comments as to people paying upfront and seeing nothing for many months.
Aero Leather went through a similar horrendous wait time, up to 5 months, following a well-documented management change under trying circumstances, but at least there they never took any money until your jacket went into production.
But to be fair, LD did refund 3 items for me within about 3 days of asking.
I also echo the positive vibes about Sal's sterling contribution, but everyone else seems to have gone dark.

Calling and speaking with Laura is also helpful. Hopefully we don't have another Gustin on our hands. Lawless bit off more than they could produce in the time frame the stated.
If my chambray and jeans come in perfect I don't care. At this point I just want perfection.

gaseousclay my comment wasn't taking away from Sal's work at all...i agree he's been a great asset and at times the only thing keeping many here from blowing a gasket. i just wonder what customers that don't know about places like this are doing if they aren't getting responses via traditional methods. brent mentioned phone as being a solid option, others have grumbled about email and chat being more dormant. ultimately those other customers being happy is going to mean more to LD's future than the few of us here.

Maybe LD should just outsource some of the manufacturing until the LA factory is up and running. The wait time is a great concern.

Wait time is a huge concern but I'd cancel my orders if they did this. Maybe it would turn out alright but one of the main draws I have to LD is the "made in house" aspect. QC issues would probably be rampant until they got them nailed down. Then you've got people complaining (rightfully) about QC and the wait time and you've quickly got twice the headache.

I think for LD to start outsourcing at this point would be a huge mistake. I feel that is what seperates them from most, in that they produce in house, and therefore QC is more in control. There doesn't seem to be complaints about quality, but more from sizing issues. I'm sure most are delighted with what they ordered, but wait times are a bitch.
My two shirts are fantastic, and I have a denim vest that I'm waiting on. I hope the new employees go a long way in reducing backlog, and wait times. I will no doubt be ordering more stuff down the road, but am waiting for them reel this thing in first.

At the prices most of the orders sold for they would loose on every item. They can't be making much profit if any at the 50% price. I'm on the fence about canceling two of my three orders, mostly because of the poor planning exhibited. A new factory running production is too far off to elevate the current problems. Right now I'd rather have one pair of IH than waiting for four LD.

I'd say if you are close to that with your wait time, then you should be almost there. I got frustrated myself, but have to say that I am very glad that I waited it out, as my shirts are very cool, plus for me, a lot of the denim shirting from other vendors, just isn't big enought to fit me.

I still look forward to that shipping email, but have figured it's best if I just do my best to forget the orders exist, then it'll be awesome and exciting when I finally do get that shipping notice. Unless they take the long route from AZ like that world traveling natural Zim patch.

Anyone know how long it takes from production to shipment once your order leaves "awaiting fulfillment"? Mine still says "awaiting fulfillment" but just in case it happens. I'm still thinking Memorial Day. My girlfriend is going to be all wtf did you buy me a denim and leather jacket at the beginning of summer. All I'm going to be able to reply is, because it was only sixty bucks.
