We all have our passion/love for quality denims, accessories, boots, etc. - but take that out of this thread, what's your other passion/hobby? No, seriously, people like other things besides denim.
For me, it's mountain biking. I built out a custom Pivot Mach 5 full suspension in late 2010 after a few years riding a modified Trek hard tail. The Pivot build took a little time to price shop and search the web for the right pieces but I managed to save close to $1000...at only 26 pounds, it's not bad for a non-carbon frame.
Aaaaand, I also home brew. Not crappy brews, either, I take a lot of ingredient kits and integrate some twists into the recipe. For a small batch brewer, it's fun to craft up beers for my friends/coworkers/etc.

All excellent choices - travel and cooking I think I overlook, but equally as passionate. Beekeeping...that's one I don't hear every day. I'd give that a try here in AZ, but I'd probably end up with those killer bees that were supposed to invade the US a few years back...

Motorcycles, camping, hiking, computers, cars, travel, Victorian glassware, old homes/architecture. I have a really wide scope of things I love. Life is grand. Oh, had to give up my Mt Biking after a gnarly ski incident at Mammoth. Yes, alcohol was involved...

+1000 on the older homes/architecture. Very hard to come by in the suburbs of Phoenix (north and Scottsdale), but the appreciation is still there. I really gravitate to the older city buildings, unique churches, etc.- so much character.
Hiking- if you come to meet with Roman here in Phoenix, bring your gear - pretty much every direction you look you'll see quality hiking in the distance. Give it a few months to cool off, unless you like the 5-6 am start times.

My old man and his wife had a killer ranch in Pecos, NM. We used to hike like crazy there as it was mountain top and he had 155 acres. I love that stuff. SW is beautiful. Here in Pasadena, many things are old. our house is a 1906. I want to buy an old brick store/church, etc to make into a shop or home. My wife and I are nuts for that stuff!
If/when I make it down - totally!

I'm very much into watches though I've slowed down on them since (like denim), they take time to wear and appreciate. Also into hiking and very much into biking. I bike daily for a commute on a murdered out Surly Steamroller and would sleep with my CF Santa Cruz Tallboy if it wouldn't dirty up the sheets.

matt & Old26 ...jealous of both of your locations for hiking/biking options. i miss living in CA where in any given day i could visit beaches, desert, foothills, or forests. going from there to texas and then chicago has proven much less geographically diverse. my hiking (biking and snowboarding)opportunities have suffered significantly.

Back when I was a youngin', we planned on the CA trifecta: SCUBA dive in Manhattan Beach Sky Dive in Perris, CA Skiing in Big Bear. Got 2/3 done, and we were suited up to skydive, and since we were nOObs, they wouldn't let us jump when winds exceeded 14MPH. They calmed down, and we were in the plane (Cessna 172) and then the gusts picked up and we got nuked. Totally bummed, but yeah, CA is pretty awesome!

I've done kayaking in La Jolla, haven't brought my bike to Cali yet to venture about on the trails. Coming in on I-8, I'm tempted to stop in the Cleveland National Forest and play on any trails. Maybe over a weekend. Need to buy the Mrs a mountain bike with a custom shock-absorbed baby seat, lol.
If I time it right later this year/early next, I'm sure I can get some snowboarding in as well. I love being driving distance from California. I'll end up there eventually.

i did a week of hiking on sifnos (greek cycladic island) this summer and it reminded me of hiking in southern california. beautiful seaside foothills covered in scrubby chaparral with jasmine wafting through the valley air in the evenings.

That sounds amazing. We have a trip planned for Capri, but I don't imagine I'll be doing too much hiking and biking. Maybe, worth looking into there! Semi-related, I've got a buddy who relocated to New Zealand - he's been loving life there. The mountain biking is a totally new experience. I need to book a trip out there and rent a bike.

Great to read about everyones activities. I sometimes get into something new, obsess about it, learning all I can, get good at it or knowledgeable about it and then move on to something else. Will still dabble in it though. Don't think it will happen with selvedge denim as luckily we get to wear it every day. Music would be my first as I am a musician and music producer/engineer. Listening to music is my therapy for sure. I love going to concert also. I know I have been lucky to see many many great artists. Having a nice stereo in my car and house are a must. I don't go crazy with $1000 needles on a turntable etc. I just have both systems where you can crank it and it goes loud and sounds good. A few others past and present. Hunting- Whitetail deer, grouse, ducks, geese. Fishing- Ice and boat. walleye, sturgeon, northern pike Trapping, camping, Scouting as in Cub Scout leader. Metal detecting. Really got into this. Belonged to a detecting club. I have bags full of coins, rings etc that I found. Oldest coin was about 1900, which is old for Minnesota. I even tried gold panning even though we don't really have any gold here. My newest would be my working out about 4 years, eating healthy etc. and Krav Maga a self defense sytem, 4 lessons. No actually my newest would be internet forums.

I'm into the cooking /dining thing but beyond denim my options are limited as of late. Caring for a 15 month old girl has taken up the majority of my free time.
I work in online marketing - primarily email marketing.

Fly fishing - Number one and likely to remain so for the rest of my life.
Home brewing and craft beer in general - Haven't brewed at all in the last five years or so, after I had to sell off most of my kit when we moved to the UK (no space in those tiny houses). Aiming to get set up again when we re-do our garage sometime in the next year or two. Still drink plenty of good beer, though!
Music - I used to play saxophone in various bands when I was younger. That was my "summer job" during high school. I miss the creative outlet and have been attempting to teach myself some guitar, without much success.
Skiing - Don't get to do this much in Florida, which is probably for the best. My knees took a real beating in my teens and early 20s when I was on the hill 35-45 days a year.
Sports geekery - I am currently commissioner of a fantasy baseball league that's been around since 2005, and I've participated in many others going back to at least 1998 or so. I also enjoy analyzing baseball and soccer, often through the lens of statistics, and have periodically written about both sports. Lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. Longtime fan of Tottenham Hotspur.
Gardening - This is a newer hobby, whereas the others are pretty well-established obsessions. But I am enjoying the process of getting into growing chilies and, more recently, orchids.

For a small batch brewer, it's fun to craft up beers for my friends/coworkers/etc. Favorite style to brew? To drink? Great question - I'm in the midst of "seasonal sampling" - since I moved from NC to AZ, I've been sampling local as well as regional brews that I couldn't get access to on the east coast. I don't mind the flavored varieties, nothing too over-the-top, but I definitely appreciate some of the more low-key offerings. Pumpkin porter, saisons, or even white IPAs of late. My brewing has only been on a 5 month hiatus - I'm planning to get back into it once we settle into a new house. As for what I brew - I've got a few ingredient kits (nut brown ale, porter) sitting in queue awaiting some inspiration on how I will make them unique to my craft brew style. It looks like we've got more in common than the great choice in names. I'm also a long-time Red Sox fan. Roger Clemens got me started in the 80s and it just stuck. Now I look at the Mitchell & Ness Clemens 1986 jersey hanging in my closet and think how much value it lost thanks to his suspect later career. Wasn't a good season, but I like the foundation that's in place - if they can sure up center field and solidify the pitching (whether it's signing Scherzer or even bringing back Lester - doubtful but I can hope), I think they won't be down for too long.

I was born and raised in New England, so I would've been a Sox fan Clemens or no Clemens. I was more of a fan of Marty Barrett and Dewey Evans when I was kid. We do have a devout Clemens fan (yeah, still) among the writers at the blog I co-founded last year. Time constraints, and a lousy team, have cut back on my writing efforts this year. I'd say I was more of an "occasional contributor", but I still managed to crank out a bunch of stuff for the draft back in June, plus a handful of other pieces during the first half. If you've got nothing better to do, feel free to check it out.

These days, my kids, motorcycles, cars, leatherworking, casual running, hiking, fishing, shooting.
About every three years I start skating again, eventually slam and hurt myself and then try again in another three years. I used to skate in the '80s and loved the whole punk/skate thing
I was hardcore into mountain biking, rode a lot and sometimes raced on and off at the unwashed masses level from about '90 until maybe '03 - '04, then road cycling, then triathlon (ugh - those folks are unpleasant for the most part, no offense to anyone here). The last three or four years are the first time since I was a kid that I haven't been all about some form of cycling. I just burned out. Now I just run a bit for my endurance high.
Been looking at nice knives recently...I feel like it's going to become a problem lol.....
Like Old26 said, life is beautiful and there is always something else to do....

Dudes...I'm jealous of you guys. How do you guys find enough time in the day to do all these things? My main hobbies right now are my children, denim (clothing in general I guess), working out, and.....(yes, go ahead and start talking smack here fellas).....video games: ) My favorite games right now are Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 15, and Red Dead redemption. I'm not a hardcore gamer or anything, its just something I do to unwind when I have some down time here and there.
But seriously, between my job, my kids, working out 6 days a week, and keeping up on these here forums....I don't have any time for much else.
