My main interests, these days, are: Coffee - absolutely fanatical about it. Love everything to do with the equipment, the roasting, the process of brewing it. Don't mind drinking it, either. good stuff here. i have to temper my obsessive/tinkerer nature with coffee...i've been very close to cobbling together a home roaster. Don't get me started on coffee. Haven't roasted my own green beans for a while but do love a good espresso.

rpm, nice pic! Is that Lake Taupo or are you on the coast somewhere? One of my best friends grew up around there, someplace near Hatepe I think. NZ is on my bucket list for a big fishing trip, ideally with said Kiwi mate as host/guide if we can get the time off simultaneously. Hopefully sometime in the next three to five years or so. Must confess up front not my pic, but same beach. Nah this is 10 mins out of central auckland. A short walk from my house. Auckland is basically the pinch point a third of the way down the north Island. So spoilt for beaches and coast lines. West coast is 40 min drive, east coast 5 min walk. Fishing galore, bay of islands up north has some great big game fishing. Otherwise pretty much everywhere else has fishing to some degree. I think theres is one or two degrees of separation to someone who owns a boat in Auckland. This is a bit more our speed...

Taupo & Rotorua good fly fishing for trout in rivers and can catch off a boat on the lake.

That's what I'm hoping for someday. My Kiwi mate fished all those spots in his youth; he's probably been up and down half the rivers in every watershed between Mt Ruapehu and Lake Taupo. I think the Waimarino, the Tauranga Taupo, and the Tongariro were his main haunts. Looks like paradise.

Enjoying this thread. And my first post over here.
Brewing, cooking and music for me. Started a microbrewery with two buddies several years ago (hence the board name), it's doing great, but fulltime job and 6mo and 3yo kiddos made for a tough decision. Sold my 1/3 of it a few months ago. A little sad, but time with my kids and wife is worth a lot more. Beavers Bend Brewery. Check it out if you ever find yourself in Southeast Oklahoma.
Music! Couldn't live without it. I've played since I was 6, 32 now and play in three bands. I play piano, fiddle, viola, pedal steel, mandolin, guitar, bass, dobro, banjo and saxophone. I've played a lot of bluegrass and love it, but also really enjoy old and alt country, Bach, jazz and anything New Orleans-ish. Toured in a hard rock band in college and got to share the stage with some semi big acts.
