I come over to the GUSTIN LOOMIES thread (wearing them now) and all I'm reading is a bunch of Denim Name Dropping - Oni, Samurai, Skull ,PBJ, RailCar, Rogue Territory.... When the "similar jeans that cost over $300" are coming in at $150-215 and delivering within the next week or so, you're suddenly in a different ball-game.

O I Get it. It's just funny. You guys are all over the place, naming denim brands. What happened to Brand Loyalty.? (Go RailCar!)

Brand loyalty is like dating the same chick through college. Oops, I did that. Maybe that's why I have no brand loyalty.

You know, the stuff that crowdsourcing doesn't make all buttery. Gustin's newest offering. Artisanal Japanese crowdsourced butter. Just check out the selvedge detailing on that pat of butter!!

If you wrap that in gauze I'll nominate you for the "Best Sarcastic Blast of Gustin Hyperbole" for the month of June.

For a nanosecond and with the image halfway scrolled into, it looked like japaneese socks - with selvadge! I was like yay instaback!

Well, it DOES have a very "gauzy" "mouthfeel" (and hand feel, come to think of it!). Also comes in slubby varietal. This is super heavy butter, folks. It weighs in at 16 oz!!....... ....not density, but weight. You heard me right. You get a damn POUND of butter. You'll also get great fades from this butter. Arterial fades, but I digress... Butter like this would cost you $7-8 elsewhere. But I'll sell it to you for $5! Talk about savings!! I will not, however, tell you what Japanese cows these came from. But does it matter? THEY'RE JAPANESE!!

Does the 517 run slimmer in the thighs than G? Measurements seem to say so. G 32 slim is tight in the thigh, perfect waist. Thinking 33 slim is my sweet spot. If I wear a 33 slim in G, what do you recommend for that Oni cut? I would go 33 raw (unwashed) That's what I thought too but the denimio fit guide varies quite a bit from the BIG.

Ignore Denimio and use BiG, they may pay rent in NYC and charge way too much, but they seem to be able to use a tape measure. My 575's came in almost exactly on BiG's measurements, I don't even think I checked Rodeo Bros measurements.

Sweet. I think I'm going to get them. So weird there is almost a 1" difference in thigh on each fit guide. At $162, I'm paying $10 me than G, with no wait time

It's just a difference in how far down each is measuring the thigh.

benjaminpersitz; as bentin said, it all depends on where they measure the thigh at. I will also agree with bentin and tell you to go by BiG's fit guide, it was spot on for me.

And woah...I was just looking at the 517XX at BiG, did not have my size... Why is it so cheap here and is it the usual pricing? I have two Gustin orders coming in (Including Zloomies), so, I want to hold off -- but this is tempting...

I have two Gustin orders coming in (Including Zloomies), so, I want to hold off -- but this is tempting... BiG has to pay rent and employees in NYC, probably bought their Oni when the Yen was much stronger to the dollar and pays import taxes. Skipping all of that and going to Denimio or Rakuten will save you a lot of money, and yes, those are normal Oni prices, check Iron Heart if you really want to learn about price gouging from IHUK and Self Edge. One note about Oni, they're some of the craziest denim out there, but just be aware that construction is not all that fancy. It's flawless, but somethings are not on many Japanese brands that even the cheap brands like Gustin do. You won't have a flat felled inseam and the belt loops will not be sewn into the waist band. But the stitching will be great, and two tone, the pocket bags will be nicer material and sized for human hands, the pockets will be sewn with a little slack so your hands and wallet go in them easily and the rear pockets will have hidden rivets.

I got a response from Denimio after I asked them to measure. They say they took measurements and the 33 unwashed measures 10.8" at the thigh (2 inch down) and 11.7 at the crotch. Who to believe? BIG is like an inch more.

BIG is like an inch more. Big has been the most reliable for the most people here, but if denimio is measuring the pair they're sending you, that's tough to argue with. Make sure you're comparing non-wash to non-wash or one wash to one wash and not getting them mixed up, though.

They've got to be measuring wrong. That's .3 inch less than Gustin's 31 slim.
