Has anybody bought a pair of the $68 12.5 oz red ID that's made in Texas? I'd like to hear more about where the denim is being made and in what style. And if anybody has a review of the finished product that would be great as well.
I'm full of carpet bagger Texan pride and am tempted by the TX denim X TX sewing potential here.

In my experience, people are usually very understanding and sympathetic with Kickstarter projects as long as the owners communicate openly and freely. There's really no such thing as bad news (except, "hey, sorry.. we stopped trying").. as long as people are informed, most of them typically feel like they're in it together with you.

Can't wait to see the pics. If possible could you throw in a swatch/scrap of the denim with my Duck Canvas order?

I received the sample of this denim and it could definitely pass as a light/midweight cone. I might order a pair after I get my sizing figured out.

CianoFarmer - quick question (may be obvious, I'm known to miss stuff on websites) - the denim descriptions are available only for denim that requires backing, not for denim that has a "Buy It!". I think your descriptions are very good, and really help me - a noob with limited funds, select a denim I'll be happy with. Can you point me in the right direction to find those links?
Thanks!

Just put in an order for a pair in the 901 fit. Wanted to acknowledge how hands on Ciano has been already. Had a nice exchange discussing proper sizing and asked him about the pockets (size and placement) and they have already incorporated changes based on feedback from this forum.
I know I'm weeks out from the finished product, but wanted to give some props for the customer service thus far.

I believe that 95+% of those waiting and now bitching would not be bitching if they only got honest replies here from the vendor. It's a self-destructive business model that angers me - preceded by utter disappointment. *This is in regards to LD, not the Farmer. No issues with them.

Stapletron, I was referring to another company. Certainly not Ciano, as they seem to be the dark horse here, not shooting their mouths off about how great they are and actually delivering when they say they will.
For the record, my dealings with Ciano have been fast, helpful and friendly, and I have 3 orders in with them. In fact, I got a shipping notice today for one item.

I can't say for their KS, but I have a couple pair of chinos from CF, and they were delivered to me in 4-6 weeks, which is what the frame time I was given when ordering. Both pairs were spot on, and I have an order in for a pair of moss colored chinos when he get the fabric.

Do we know anything about where the Texas denim is being made? I thought Cone was the only Murican mill making selvedge denim? Yes you are correct..Cone Mills is the only one in the USA that mass produces selvage denim..i have a guy in Beasley Tx that has an old loom that he makes canvas feed bags for the local farmers and burlap for cotton bales.. He contacted us and ask if he can make some denim for us..and of course we said yes...the denim is crude and he only does a 40-50 yard run...there are a lot of imperfections..so we get about 20 yards of good fabric from the 50 he makes...he is not a denim manufactor..he use to work for Cone Mills in the 50's....he loves the fact we are making hand made denim in Texas..... it it takes him forever..but we do not complain ..especially to an old Texan....we made a deal with him that we give him and his employees and his Farmer buddies free jeans..for his kind offer...........we have a 3rd roll coming in dec if we are lucky...but he will only start to make our denim if we take him deer hunting on our ranch.and hang out with him for a couple of days..he loves the brown water..and loves to tell stories...that is how he does business.... and and I will never give up his secret that he can make denim on his old looms.

Wow! It's even more special than I thought. We'll here is the kicker...he made me promise him..as a GOD fearing Christian..to never charge more that 50 dollars for a pair of denim made in his fabric...Mike told him we had to add 18 dollars for shipping...Mike is definitely going to hell for that one...HA..

I would be all over a pair of your denim if you ever got an 18oz Zimbabwe cotton. Or, even a regular, 15oz Zimbabwe cotton for that matter. *wink, wink *nudge, nudge

Made my first foray into the Ciano Farmer brand...trying the Texas denim option in the 901...basically looking exactly like the pair that CF posted earlier on this thread. If the specs stay true to the sizing guide, I think I've found the happy denim medium I've been looking for. Hoping for some uniqueness to this run of denim, potential character fades to follow.
