Just got them, wearing them right now. the fit is perfect- nice and snug. I would have been disappointed if I sized up.

Wasn't sure if this is the best place to post, but since it's in reference to the Gustin 23 oz. denim, it's a good starting point. Can we figure out who this person is that's trying to sell the 23 oz. G's on eBay for $249 and ban them from G and here? Someone would really finance these? Only $42 a month for 6 months!!! Actually, let's figure out who buys them and ban that person for not doing their research. Way overpriced Gustins on ebay Found another pair for $239. Unreal. I get that they aren't the "budget" G's, but $197 was already steep from G. Thinking people will pay $50 more...sad.

The $239 pair was reduced after not selling for quite some time (on eBay or G-comm B\S\T). I was relieved when I saw on the sold listings that none had sold for more than original price. I noticed a lot of people seem to think that Gustin items appreciate for some ridiculous reason.

I sold my Rainbow Neps and True Blue Silk on Ebay and I can say $249 is a fair price of the 23oz if they are new. Ebay/Paypal are charging about 11% and the seller needs to pay the shipping cost. If the seller paid $203 for the jeans, he is only making about $10 with all the trouble. Edit: i sold both of the jeans for a loss.... tough to make money on Ebay.

What kind of idiot would pay that extortionate price when you can get a pair for just $239.99 that have only been soaked once? Actually, far worse than either of those is the pair of Italy BlackXBlack listed at $189.99 (and currently funding at $99 on the G store). Get me to the roflcopter!

Is it fair that I almost look at eBay at the "last resort" locale for selling Gustins (and/or other denim)? With so many listings on the Gustin B/S/T and now the option to sell more here, I feel like eBay is that "I really need to unload some denim, I guess I'll take what I can get..." option.
As for selling fees, I didn't have to pay anything to post up a non-denim item. I know they'll collect a percentage once it's sold, but the $50 mark-up (or $40 for the once soaked pair) is still kinda foolish considering all the places that Gustins are showing up for sale.

Who thinks they're going to make money from clothing on eBay? (other than by turning over lucky thrift and vintage items) I buy things when they're on big sales online on whims. IF I like them, I win and if not, I put them on forums or eBay and make some good money for the next thing. That last pair of $900 boots cost me about $180 after I made some flipper cash! FLIPPER CASH - not stripper cash you lugs...

@wils - it's hard to make money on eBay when you buy an item and pay retail price and said item is an item that will be re-offered and is not "rare" like some Alden's etc.
I make plenty on eBay. Thrift shipping, one off items etc.

FLIPPER CASH - not stripper cash you lugs... Sure...money can be made when goods are purchased at a discount. Last year I financed my entire relocation from Dallas to Chicago with funds from Craigslist and eBay...but none of it was profit. I wouldn't expect to turn over something I paid full price for at a profit (unless crazy rare and unavailable)

I received my heavyweights from the grab bag last Friday. I wore them the rest of the day after getting them and experienced all the same issues as indicated in this thread. My hands were blue after putting them on. The buttons were almost impossible to do up. And, wow, are these pants heavy and thick and stiff. I didn't wear them on Saturday because we were having people over and I didn't want to have issues buttoning/unbuttoning. I did clean out all the loose threads from the buttons holes before I put them on yesterday and that made a big improvement. They were still difficult to button up but i could do it myself and I was able to go to the bathroom like a normal person. I wore them again tonight after getting home from working. I have every intention of whering these pants whenever it's not hot. I'm convinced these are going to be my favorite pair when they get broken in.

Yes as long as you are able to button them and the rise works for you, you should be good to go. They will get better with every wear. Pics when you get a chance.

So long as he does a cold hand wash and air dry To avoid shrinking them? Why the words of caution? Yup. If they are already let's say exactly fitting, or '5"-1" too small, and they are being stretched to comfortability, shrinking them in the washer/dryer would be catastrophic. 0.5"-1" of shrink would come from the ORIGINAL MEASUREMENTS, in my experience. I think this is one of the big reasons the "Size down and stretch your raws to fit your body" crowd are also usually the "Don't wash your denim" crowd.

I was always a 'wear my denim as long as possible between washes' even before getting into raw, so 'adjusting' to hand washing and hang drying has been pretty easy. The only pairs I've machine washed or stuck in the dryer have been ones I wanted to shrink. My heavyweights will not be doing that. I think today might be my last wearing them for a while as it is supposed to warm up a bunch. *sigh* back to trying to fade my Heavy Americans.

Wow that tight weave really doesn't fade at all. That's shocking how they refuse to fade.
