Totally getting my ass kick by Arnold right now. Having trouble to finished the third SET in day 1. DAMN. Dial down the weight couple times and still not helping.... back again now... DAMN. You might want to take a bit of time to warm into a full body assault workout. Going from a long time off and jumping into that kind of workout can leave you either too sore to continue or injured.

The most challenging aspect of the Arnold program is the first 30 reps and my muscle was already feeling fragile after the first set. I also didn't have someone to push me through the pain and my focus was not great. I can tell my shoulder and arm are going to be sore tomorrow.
Great program and will need some time to figure out, especially the weights.

Getting through it in the beginning is an accomplishment, no matter the weight. I found I had to back off about 20% from what I used to workout at, at first, but be patient and you'll see improvements in strength and fitness. Don't give up!

I can definitely feeling more muscle tighten up even a day later, so it works. However, the program is totally kicking by ass. I skipped yesterday and will be back to the gym today to do day 2.... it is going to suck.

Love it, @wils.. at the three week mark, I was dreading the workout time. There's so much positive reinforcement around that time with the program, though, that I soon got over it and now look forward to the next day's routine.
You're gonna love the effect on your physique and boost in confidence that comes from the discipline required to stick with it. Dudes have been asking me, half jokingly, if I've been 'roiding out, and my wife says I look totally different now.

To plug another workout. I'm on week 2 of Kris Gethin's 12 week muscle building program. Seems to be pretty good this far but really at week 10 ish I'll know for sure. After these 12 weeks I hope to drop some weight but keep strength after I'll look more into a cutting program

HOWEVER, I cheated a bit by lower the weight of the first set to minimum and raise the weight back up for the next 4 sets. The first set of 30 reps is really giving me trouble. I started really hurting at around reps 16-18. Hopefully by week 2, I will be able to do a better job.

I have about ten pairs I'm putting up for sale and about 5 or 6 shirts. I guarantee you if you stick with the program you will get to that point, unless your current wardrobe was baggy before you started which I highly doubt it was. It's good to hear you are seeing results.

That first set of 30 reps is a warm-up set. Its just to get the blood pumping to the muscles to prime them for the working sets. BTW, at week 3 you will stop doing 30 reps on the first set.

I am having trouble with the chest being tight even right now but the waist, sleeves, length are long/loose.

I am having trouble with the chest being tight even right now but the waist, sleeves, length are long/loose. I am actually quite happy with how the XL classic button down Gustin shirts fit me. I outgrew the Larges as they were way too tight in the chest, shoulders, and arms like you stated but the XL classic is a comfortable fit for me. Yes, the arms and the length are a bit long but I don't mind it at all. I actually prefer my sleeves to be a touch on the long side and I would rather have the length of shirt be on the long side as opposed to being too short. I also will get a bit of shrink from my XL once I wash it so it should come out close to perfect. Waist doesn't bother me either. On my XL it's at 43 1/2'' which is good for me. Maybe it could be brought in a bit more but it's good as is. I like my shirts to fit within certain parameters but I don't need to have a perfectly tailored shirt every time. I actually like having a bit of room but still having a nice fit without being too boxy and that's how the Gustin XL classic shirts fit me.

I am old fashion (from my dad most likely) and maybe also my working expereices at high fashion stores that the concept of shirt has to fit perfectly to look good, is totally embedded in my DNA. Shirts doesn't need to be tailored fit but the width of the waist and sleeves length must be within a very small range of parameters. If the shirt is wearing untuck, I have a hard time to like any outfit if the shirt is too long. I actually don't mind to wear a JCPenney shirts as long as the fit is great. Maybe that is why I have such a strong reaction to the fit of my G's work shirt and button downs.

At my trendy crossfit class yesterday we did a 5 rep max on flat bench. We haven't flat benched since I started going and I worked up to 155, probably could have done 165 but ran out of time before we had to start taking selfies in our Under Armor gear. I'd like to get up to doing body weight (180-185lbs) for 5 reps.

Yeah, I caught that the selfie part was a joke. Everyone knows they take their Under Armour shirts off before they take the selfies.

Crossfit is the Scientology of the workout world. Nope. Everyone that does cross-fit talks about it, you're not supposed to talk about Scientology.

Anyone do kettlebell swings? I've been adding swings to my workout and I'm easing into doing the 10k swing workout. They really kick your butt. Great finisher.
