I love green bezel! There is always Steinhart. They've got 3 bronze Ocean 1 options. All with ETA 2824-2 movement. Without VAT, they go for 380 euro... Green

Buying a new daily beater Going with a Hamilton King Khaki. Any thoughts on face color? White or Black? Will be worn during the day casually.

Upon further review, black. Black. Black.

I'm a fan of white dials. Helps when it is darker too.

Yeah, I like metal/white faces. Used to own one of these. But that Hammy just looks better in black.

Heavily considering a Sinn 104 i on leather. Any good avenues to buy one, that you're aware of bentin ? Always down to consider other options (Sinn or otherwise), but felt this hit a pretty sweet spot on the qulaity vs price scale.

But I'm pretty sure the only US vendor is Watch Buys, so that's an easy decision. I did recently get the annual email about upcoming price hikes, so you might want to buy soon.

May still look into the grey market cause the Euro seems very weak vs usd and the movement is easily worked on--if I could save say 35% it'd be tough to resist.

This Tudor is causing me pain. Instead of pushing the Sinn 104 out of contention, I feel the two could play well with each other and satisfy 90% of my watch 'needs'.

I've had a few Rolex and don't think I'd do another, but the bronze Tudor is pretty great. I assume you know about WatchUSeek and TimeZone? Lots of non shady deals on both for Sinns and Tudors. Just know that you might have a $300-$700 service in your near future to get things fully "good as new."

Checked out the bronzo at the AD today and it is special, af. I was surprised to notice how differently the bezel vs the face was colored--def was expecting more homogeneity between the two. It def comes into its own more once darkened with patina. Sinn 104 I St Sa --leather strap-- on wrist now! Couldn't be happier and not feeling underwhelmed at all even though I've had many Tudors and Omegas on wrist the last few days!

That's a keeper. Wish mine had the Made in Germany on the face, they only started that in the last few years but I really like it. Lume looks strong on that too.
I wouldn't mind grabbing one of those either in Germany or having the date wheel changed to German day abbreviations. Would like to do Euro Delivery on a German car in the next few years and would love to grab a Sinn or GO while there. Or an A Lange, if we're dreaming. Probably shouldn't budget more on the watch than the car.

Funny that I was thinking of changing over to the German day wheel just to be different.
Loving the sweep of this second hand--seems esp fluid.
Pleasant, professional experience delaing with watchbuys.com

I like the Super Ocean. Breitling to me just seems like a little nicer brand than Oris.

I like the Super Ocean. Breitling to me just seems like a little nicer brand than Oris. Yes but there would be room to buy another watch if I went with the Oris. That and I think the repair and maintenance on the Oris is easier, able to be done locally. But the Bretling is the better of the two

My gut reaction is to go with the Brietling over the Oris--esp if you're talking heirloom! But you have two kids so maybe two show stoppers is the way to go anyways?!!?

My Sinn can either go to Germany or to Roland G Murphy in PA. It's within about $10 total round trip when I've compared the two. Remember to compare used prices too. If one loses more value, keep that in mind for long term valuation too. One final note, consider if one is too flashy. My dad gave me a gold Rolex, but there were so few times I felt comfortable wearing it that I eventually sold it (when gold was stupidly high.)

That's the best Omega, and likely the only one I'd buy. Hesalite or Sapphire?

That's the best Omega, and likely the only one I'd buy. Hesalite or Sapphire? The 50th anniversary numbered addition with sapphire. Not exactly the same as the one on the moon with Hesalite but with the modern upgrade of sapphire it'll hold up better for me.
