devastitis Yeah, the price seems a bit high to me too, but it does have a lot going for it. I'm happy with my Zeppelin LZ129 Hindenburg--which is overpriced (in my mind)--as my white faced "dress watch". Take your time with the process, if you can; you'll know the right one when you find it!

Can anyone recommend me a white faced dress watch for under $500? I've been looking at Seikos, SARB035/SARB065/SARY055, but I was wondering if there's any others I should look at before buying. Preferably with 39~42mm diameters, and 20mm to 22mm lug widths. I picked up the white-faced rose gold Travis Leon back when they were up on Massdrop. Very happy with. Price isn't as good for their second run, but I'd still recommend it. travisleon.com/collections/heirloom-limited-founders-edition-pre-orderI also really like my Seiko SARB065. It shows up pretty regularly on Massdrop.

I'm too poor and cheap to increase my budget. I'm also not a big watch guy, only own some very basic watches that I think look nice and more expensive than they are. An Orient pepsi Mako (<$60), Orient black Ray (<$60), Orient cream dial/blue hand Bambino (~100), Seiko Fifty Five SNZH modded (~$150), Casio EF503D-1AV Edifice ($40), and the CW ($<$300) I just bought. If anything, I wanted to keep the budget as low as possible, like below $300, but wanted to see what my options were at around $500. I had my sights on the Seiko SARY055 or the SARB065 if I can get it under $300 off of WUS. The Kent Wang looks nice, and fits a style that I wouldn't mind owning, but what makes it worth $400? In a diver style, I think the best $500 option is the Steinhart Ocean One Vintage Military. For example: www.ebay.com/itm/Steinhart-Ocean-One-Vintage-Military-/172241673162?hash=item281a675bca:g:jgYAAOSwNuxXYJfuThey often trade at a premium over retail on ebay, but you can buy them direct from Germany with no VAT at under $500 shipped.

Can't really think of any sub $300 hibeat movement at the moment. Guess you can scan WUS threads to see pics and maybe stumble on one.

like i said it's old and rare nowadays so you gotta keep an alert for it or check other watch forums as well. In the mean time, keep searching and I'll update you on watches I think fit your bill. I spent a lot of time picking a dress watch but never got one.
My lady got me a fashion Marc Jacobs open heart that I just use for our anniversary last year so i designated it dress watch. Not white face but has a vinyl looking dial.

Went to a bunch of islands in the Caribbean this past two weeks. Anyone who's been there knows that they push a lot of jewelry and watches (Diamonds International is found on every island and seems like very courner). Anyway, I found myself looking to the Tag Heuer's and my Wife was onboard to buy one for me But I've still got a few months of my No Spend and id like to research it first. So I've got only one shot at this (NO Watch rabbit hole for me! One and done!) I like to get a Blue Face one. Maybe something like this www.prestigetime.com/item/Tag-Heuer/Carrera-Caliber-5-Day-Date/war201e.fc6292.html?gclid=CLbEgdj57dECFUeBswodSAUCkQ]br] I have a budget of $2000. Any thoughts or alternatives?

Yes, I'd prefer a bracelet. So would my wife! I think she's tired of seeing my sweaty watch bands I have now.

I have a bracelet, but I mostly wear my Gustin NATO strap through the winter and canvas Zulu straps through the summer. But it's nice to have. I think the last time I put it on was for my grandma's funeral.

so you want something along the lines of dressy right or just a blue dial w/date?
I like damasko but it maybe too toolish for your wants/needs? Grand Seikos have great history.
My end game watch which I will wait until after I settle down is just an omega moonwatch.

So if I'm to stay in my $2500 budget (yes I upped it 500). What's a better way to go (Value)? A used Omaga or a new Tag?

Just remember to factor in maintenance for a used watch. $200-$500 every five years. I personally like Omega more than Tag Heuer, but neither have especially good resale.
