My vote is for a Speedmaster. Have one from 1985 on the 1450 bracelet and honestly it is my favorite watch.

I like Omega better but I may be biased after I read so much on WUS about Tag. A buddy recently got a speedmaster in Monaco when he visited earlier this year. Yea, factor in service too but as long as your not horrible with it or buy from a legit AD or secondary market with all history than your GTG. www.watchrecon.com/?query=speedmaster in case you wanted to see the various pricing. I prefer the older vintage ones but once I find one in my birth year I'm getting that.

I retired my Seiko 5 SNK809 because it kept horrible time. Got what I paid for I guess. I have since gone back to my equally inexpensive Casio G-Shock that hasn't skipped a beat since I bought it a few yrs back. glad I haven't gotten sucked into the watch rabbit hole.

My phone keeps perfect time. My German watch, not so much, but I still wear it every day. Black Reeboks technically work with a suit, glad I haven't been pulled into the shoe and boot game.

+1 vote for Omega over TAG. The Speedmaster is a very popular watch, looks equally as good on a bracelet or a nato. You can't go wrong with it. I have a G-shock as well as a few automatics. I wear them all. My SKX009 and my G-Shock get the most wrist time because they're both built like tanks and i don't have to worry about them.

I always had to adjust the time on my Seiko 5 every other day. I would lose about 5 minutes for whatever reason. Also, the pins that hold the straps on aren't very sturdy as i've knocked them off a few times. My G-shock, on the other hand, keeps accurate time and is solidly built. Granted, 85% of the watch is encased in plastic but I don't have to worry about losing time or the straps. But then again, if I had a disposable income then i'm sure i'd look into an expensive watch. For now it's cheap watches for me.

Any watch is better than none. It's like guys with no belt, I can't trust people that couldn't finish getting dressed.

Totally delinquent in posting the latest addition to the collection. https://www.instagram.com/p/BOp2S8xgZos It joins the 2014 Speedmaster Moonwatch, Rolex Milgauss 116400GV, and Fredrique Constant Slimline in the collection. Can you spot the error? It's at Breitling USA getting the error corrected. This may have been a bad decision for collectibility, but I'll never know. remitivaN ni "R" eht gnissiM

how does that missing R even pass through quality control? How long before you realized it?

^^^Great Score!
Awesome collection you have too...
You bought this direct from Breitling USA? I could loose sight of that error, while being mesmerized by that watch face--very cool.

New Stowa Marine Klassik polished 40mm. Getting my dress watch on, kind of nice to have something that slips under a cuff.

how does that missing R even pass through quality control? How long before you realized it? It was at least five weeks before I noticed. It wasn't until I did a macro shot for the Head2HeadCopyCat challenge that I spotted it. SaveSave

^^^Great Score! Awesome collection you have too... You bought this direct from Breitling USA? I could loose sight of that error, while being mesmerized by that watch face--very cool. Bought sight unseen from my local AD who had it shipped from the AD in MI where it had been sitting since 2013. My AD figures it went through QC at Breitling HQ, then at Breitling USA, then at MI AD, then at Breitling USA again, then at my AD without anyone catching it. My AD showed me his photo of the watch (all ADs are required to take a photo when they take a watch into stock) and the error was clearly there when he took it into stock before I picked it up. I am happy with the collection. It is genuinely a hard choice to pick a watch to wear each morning. It would be nice to have a Patek, Vacheron, or Jaeger, but don't think I could maintain a four watch collection (probably would struggle to just have one). SaveSave

My old friend. Mondaine Evo Chrono. Worn daily since July 2006. Edit: it's not as obnoxiously large as the picture suggests.

Dig it. Have a Mondaine wall clock that's a replica of the Swiss rail clocks. I get compliments on it all the time, usually from people wearing nice watches. IMO, good design always wins. I think i paid $85 for it in 2006 during a clearance sale at Marshall Fields (RIP). I've gone through several bands, many batteries, and a movement rebuild. I have a speedmaster MK 40 and a few other assorted watches, but this one gets all the love.

I quit buying so many jeans, then I finally kicked my $1,200 per month UFO catcher habit with the new year (seriously...this is no exaggeration. It went on for over one year) and shortly after all of that, I needed to wear a shirt and tie. I have been wearing a black/white G-shock for over three years. Oddly enough, I got it to be like everyone else...which is unusual for me. Everyone has G-shocks and Line messenger in Japan. One girl from Osaka called me out on how much I liked Japanese culture and my G-shock watch was one of the items she pointed out (I was also wearing a jinbei, fake glasses [3d glasses from the movie theater with the lenses popped out], headband that said "Otaku" and was carrying a hello kitty polaroid camera...what can I say, it was the night of the Orion Beer Fest...and that is how I roll...whatever that means). But that is how much they like G-shocks here...it is part of the culture or something. Furthermore, it was all fun and games until I had to wear a dress shirt and the fat face of the watch would catch on the sleeve and really dress things down in a hurry. I went to the internets to find a dressier watch when I took a wrong turn and fixated on the Seiko Orange Monster watches. Back when I moved to Romania in 2007, I thought about buying one but I was too cheap to do such things in those days. Now it is 10 years later and I found them again...I couldn't stop it now. When you used to spend $300 in the arcades in a weekend...spending less than that on a watch you will wear every day becomes easier. It appears that within the past year or two, they switched the Seiko Monsters to the "prospex" line and upped the price and the market went crazy. I had to settle on the orange and black version made in Malaysia for $226. I have grown to really like this orange/black version more than the solid orange version. The automatic watch world is a weird ride. My G-shock kept perfect time (Multi-band 6 - synced at night to ensure it was always on time) and had many features. The Seiko was gaining about one minute per week and lacked a stopwatch I use twice a day to time my tea...but it makes me feel like a grown-up. As many of you are aware, sometimes buying one nice thing that will last many years isn't enough. It just leads you down the rabbit hole. The watch research continued and then I found a Seiko Outlet store in Itoman where they had some really good deals. They had the SKX009 for some amount and then 10% off. After converting using the exchange rate at the time, it was $150 with the plastic strap (made in Malaysia...they didn't have the Made in Japan version). For about $8 more, I could have got the metal jubilee bracelet, but that thing felt real janky, man. My research into the watch world showed me what a Nato strap was and I knew I had to try it out...which is why I went cheaper and got the rubber strap...I knew it would not stay. So now I have abandoned the G-shock and the Orange monster and am wearing the SKX every day and will probably do so for a while. So wear what you want or don't wear a watch at all, but I am digging this SKX and it can totally pass for a nice dress watch in my world. I might have to give up the nato strap one of these days for an aftermarket metal bracelet because it is sweaty here and the nylon nato is starting to get a little funky smelling. oh and nobody in my office cares about watches or jeans...so you get the story if you read it. Not sure if I would read the ramblings of some jerk like me. Whatever, braaaaaaaaaaaah. I am going to have the sickest watch fades.

my collection is small, and modest, and i try to wear them all pretty evenly. But i need something a little dressier, to fit under a cuff. So that's my next purchase.
