I'd love to buy a pair and review them as a sample. I have a pair of Carhartt duck pants that are at least a dozen years old with no blowouts and no taped seams. They are triple stitched in areas but that's it, so I'm fine with flat felled and no taping with the understanding that you can't warranty. Maybe we could reach an agreement on price? I'd like something similar to the post-wash dimensions of your size 31 901 slim fit. In other words, waist 33-34, thigh around 12", leg opening 7.8", 34" inseam. we are going to make a pair up for you in your size....but we have to make them to our standard...everything that come out of our "SHOP" has to have a LIFETIME GUARANTEE...so Mike and I are working on the Duck Canvas jean for you...SIZE 31 Slim Fit...we are going to "CADILLAC" this pair and take pictures before you purchase...so you can see...COOL? ?? Carhartt watch you back!!!! LOL I'm thrilled! I just spent yesterday afternoon chain sawing and splitting oak in my carhartts and can't wait to put yours to the test. I dig the duck jacket but already have a waxed filson like that.

A lined duck trucker would be awesome. Linings that would put it on my wish list. 1) heavy wool 2) heavy flannel 3) moleskin
I'll also be watching for those other jackets

cianofarmer - most seem to do a poly (higher quality use quilted) liner, something like this new iron heart shirt jacket. Though it's great as an insulator, and as a liner it tends to be fairly resilient (unless you have a habit of clothing with knives-on), I kinda hate polyester. Something more unique would be a quilted cotton fabric or something similar -- though if you have to quilt this yourself I would imagine it gets quite labor intensive. Just lining it with a cotton flannel would be another option, one of these heavy flannels everyone is raving about would be a good idea, but it seems to be hard enough to find that for shirts. I don't know if either of these would make it as warm as the poly, though.

You could do a blanket lining in the body and nylon in the sleeves like Carhartt does with a bunch of their jackets. Blanket lining works well with the whole Texas aesthetic. Because horses.
Right? I don't know. I'm not from Texas. (But Texas wants me anyway?)

what about a removable quilted liner? so it can be optional as an add on for customers who do not what a liner//// but we will design it so it can be worn by it self...or not...

I like the removable quilted idea for sure. That's the exact setup my motorcycle jacket has and it's very functional. Quilted satin/poly isn't fancy, but it makes a jacket incredibly easy to slip on. I've tried on a blanket lined waxed trucker from Traveller Denim in Austin and the friction combined with the stiffness of the jacket made it a bear to get on.

Ciano, nice jacket. Not sure is it the angle but the fit does not look very slim. The armhole can be a bit higher too. Wils do you need me to take measurements of the armhole? or the pictures OKAY? Not sure how I missed your question. I think picture will be good. I think people here prefer jacket with a slimmer profile.

Yes, that slim version looks about like my size L Filson waxed canvas. If you're making two fits the slim should probably be a bit slimmer.

View AttachmentFilson does this very well. They offer multiple options of the type of liner that you can buy. If you were to make the zippers work with theirs it would offer options.

I thought it was about time that Ciano Farmer deserved their own board so I have moved all posts regarding Ciano Farmer here.

Filson's liners are all cut to fit their standard 'Alaska' fit I do have a 24oz wool vest for my slim 'Seattle' jacket and it works but it's certainly feels too bulky For an even slimer jacket like a trucker, i don't think a one size fits all is a great idea

since there's a dedicated board for ciano now, i'd suggest posting topics specific to the Kickstarter in this thread and starting new threads for the other products. will help people coming to the board more easily find what they're looking for.

I agree @david. When I have a chance I'm going to go through and clean this up a bit as well. Probably start a separate thread for the jacket discussions and move all related posts over there.

cianofarmer no worries at all, it only made more sense after the brand got a dedicated board. It will get sorted and help your potential customers find the info they're looking for. No doubt they'll be pleased to find your interaction here.

Click that and it will bring up essentially the same screen you see when you make a normal post on here. Enter a title for your new thread in the Subject: box at the top--"Duck Canvas Pants", for example--and then take it from there, just as you would any other post.
