Cool fabrics. Pricey but I get it. Don't see them as a Chino, would be to busy for my taste. Won't be backing any, I have to many work shirts now.

They're interesting, but at that price, I'd just go with RgT or Railcar.
Wait, not even selvedge? 420 hit early in the Bay Area.

Anyone looking for an alternative to jeans. I recommend the Moleskin chinos. I have the army green (wearing them today) and the Royal (which were to bright so I over dyed them with black, making them Navy). They're not the typical fuzzy moleskin. More of a very tight weave, heavyweight Chino.

is it me or they look a little bright? Most likely. The Royals were. I'd recommend the Olive, Black, Khaki.

Anyone else wondering if Gustin will be going out of business soon?
I feel like the items are stale at this point, the site just looks like its sort of forgotten about. Nobody I know really knows about them and they just don't seem to be moving ahead or innovating or anything. I have bough t alot of items from them over the years but now when I check its mostly the same items over and over again and I have enough jeans. I mostly buy their shirts, but the quality of materiel for the price just doesn't seem worth it most of the time. As an example, I've bought a lot of their chambrays and the material always seems pretty light and wrinkles easily. Their flannels always seem to fit weird too. I'm sad about it as I used to love their stuff but I'd be surprised if they weren't declining heavily in sales.

I'm sad about it as I used to love their stuff but I'd be surprised if they weren't declining heavily in sales. I agree with that there is not much new coming down the pike from them. I have several pair of G jeans,a couple pair of chinos, and one of their early releases of denim work shirts. I've been happy with the quality of the jeans, and they have held up, and look great, and the postal work shirt is outstanding. I have a few of their T shirts also, but haven't bought anything from them in years. They are a good place to start for someone entering into the foray of denim, at a decent price point, but I can get a custom fitted shirt from places like Ratio for a few dollars more, so don't bother with G. I give them credit for not selling out and sourcing everything from China, or whatever, like a lot of other companies that started when they did, but you have to keep moving forward, or you eventually will die on the vine.

I'm not sure I know how to judge the health of their company. Based on the number of campaigns that get funded, they seem to be doing OK. They also seem to be putting out new products. They have a few different types of jackets that have been released over the past few months. I don't know...what else should they be doing?
I don't buy denim too often, but my Oki Standards are probably the best fitting denim I own. Their chinos are really good. After trying a bunch of different T's, I've determined they make my favorite T (and the quality for price is, I think, outstanding). I've also gone to Ratio for shirting. All the other stuff they make (shoes, bags, jackets, sweatshirts) don't really interest me, but I assume someone is buying them. I think they do a pretty incredible job for what they are and the prices they charge. They're never gonna have some new propriety fabric...that's not their business model.

I'm doing my part, 6 T-shirts (2 3packs), 1 pair of jeaans ($68 pair of cone), 1 oxford, 3 pairs of wool chinos and 2 Moleskin chinos. All in the past few months
Bought the T's because I didn't have any black ones. Jeans because I didn't have any Cone and they were cheap. Oxford in black/gray because I dont have many dark shirts Wool Chinos are my new found friend for winter casual wear! Moleskin, very nice alternative to denim.
Had to revamp my wardrobe a little, as I'm moving out of the construction end and moving more into the management. Next year I turn 50. So I guess I'm trying to look my age. I now Wear the faded denim strictly for getting dirty.
Gustin has the stuff that works for me.

I doubt they’ll be going out of business, so long as they keep their prices low and production in the US. I, too, appreciate the fact that they haven’t sold out like Taylor Stitch. I have since moved on from Gustin but I still have my Japan 17’s and Blue 17’s. A lot of denim companies have been raising their prices too, so anyone that is new to selvedge or on a budget Gustin is a good source. The only other competitor to Gustin would be N&F imo, but that’s only because their jeans can be had dirt cheap.

Are the thermals a new drop? Any thoughts? I find the IH to be to chunky and short. Maybe these would work

(someone has to break this silence) Are the thermals a new drop? Any thoughts? I find the IH to be to chunky and short. Maybe these would work No doubt, the crickets have been chirping quite a bit, lately. This is my first time seeing the thermals. I don't think I'll be trying them. For one, the specs have me concerned. There is not enough shoulder/sleeve for my liking. Second, the 6 oz weight is a bit too light for my taste. The $33 price tag is tempting, though. They might make for a great late spring / summer / early fall, sleeves pulled up option. On second thought, I may have just talked myself into one. I love my IH thermals. The weight, length (body and sleeve), and cut are about perfect for me. It's the only IH cut & sewn item that works for me, particularly in length. I recently grabbed a couple of American Giant waffles. The fit, fabric, and length are great. But, the neck holes are far to large. Shame, they are fantastic, otherwise. Thanks for the post, though. It reminded me to check in with Gustin. I hadn't for some time. Finding the Crimson Paisley fills a void. A couple of years ago, Gitman had these great bandana print shirts, in red and blue. I was able to nab a blue, but the red eluded me.

I have slowed down alot, but its due to 2 things: 1. Their new verson shirt is so wierd bc of the humongous gap in the top buttons, it just doesnt work on its own and is wierd even under a sweater. 2. All my old stuff is holding up too good. My heavy tshirt havent even gotten that much washed out yet, all my tees are still rocking even tho I trash the heathers they never seem to die. I have 2 pairs of sienna low tops so trashing one pair in the snow and shit but they still look amazing!?
Im also almost only wearing the new okas without any washes.
Last year: * New Okayamas * New Blue oxford * Olive Stretch twill Chinos * Japan White * Japan pique polo navy
This year: * Black friday mystery chambray (got sendt in January, was a perfect half beefy and nice dark blue one, could be my best one yet (but its the wierd button tho, but else..)
2017 was alot of piques and found out i am an M in the and not an L so they are pretty much worthless....but also got zloomies that I hemmed just at the f!@king verge of being too short so have to stretch them like a mofo after a wash, but they do work sweet when doing that. They werent anything special tho so im kiiinda thinking about just doing car maintenance in them to get them really worn.

Corduroy truckers. Look nice. Although, the orange rust may be a bit too orange. If they come across a chocolate brown, I'll be in.

Any better denim then the okayama's? Looking for another pair jeans. IDK about better as I don't have a pair of those. Have thought about them many times.
One of my favorite pairs of G's are the Zim light. That being said, they have two pairs I really really like up right now in the coal x black and the Italy double indigo.
I've been pondering buying a second pair of the Italy double indigo as my pair is 3 years old or so and I really like the fresh look on those.

I have the Italian indigo x indigo, nice denim but a bit to nice for what I'm looking for. Same with the coal blacks. I'm looking to replace my faded work jeans that are patched, ripped, cuffs falling off, etc for a nicer more even faded pair of everyday pair. I have the okayama's and like them but there a bit to destress to wear out with the wife. Same with the Zims, Heavys.

They have a 14oz cone 501 Levi Redline up for $68 that they just released yesterday. Old School, classic, and out of production.

Any better denim then the okayama's? Looking for another pair jeans. My 35 straights are yours for $20. About a year of wear. Little bit of wallet and phone fades, but nothing crazy. Just wildly dislike the fit. Like the denim, have debated a pair in slim but don't really like that fit either and I've become a bit of a snob about hidden rivets and goofball pocket bags, etc.

I cannot do straight, way to wide in upper thigh/below ass. I would say the color is the main thing and to me they are essential. However the very best is the loomstate (i put them higher then PBJ, although i looove my PBJs..), size up 3 and hot hot soak and they are amazing, but you really need okayamas aswel bc the color!

Same here, straits are much to wide for me, especially once you get into the 36+ sizes. I also have the Loomies, great denim. Those are my favorite pair. So I wear them when I know I won't be getting them wrecked/stained/dirty. They'll be coming with me to Sicily next month (show those Italians what a pair of Slubbly Cross weave denim looks like compared to their smooth and flat denim)

Now that I think of it, I'm gonna wait for the Loomies to come back. Unless there's another similar denim/company (under $200) You gentleman can suggest
