Gustin straight fit in larger sizes have huge cuff openings. Comically so. Dunno if 35-36 waist qualifies as "larger", but all the jeans I've received from G since early last fall have had a 17-17.5" cuff opening, which is technically 1-1.5" below spec. They've been bang on that smaller number, though, every single time. I honestly believe G gave the shop instructions to make the cuff openings smaller, but for whatever reason have chosen not to make this change public or update the fit guide. I feel like 35/36 is a large waist size around these parts.

I would definitely go with 32 slim. I have the japan olive and american navy. The japan chinos are amazing and the slim fit is perfect for chinos. Thanks. I'm also looking for a navy chino. Is the quality noticeably different between the American chino and Japanese chino?

I know a lot of the November chinos have been shipping recently. How has sizing been? Has it been pretty close to the fit guide? I am going to back the new offering for the graphite and I'm a little concerned that if they sew up small I'll have issues if I go for the size I think I should get. My best fitting chinos lead me to a 31 slim, but if the waist ends up much smaller than 32, they probably won't fit me. I like the idea of a more fitted look rather than just sizing up and going baggie. Has QC been pretty good on these last batches?
And yes, I understand I'm in for a 4 month wait to find out 100% either way.

I've only worn Bill's khakis slim M3 fit. How is the quality compare with the Gustin's?

"3/1: A few orders have not yet shipped, but we are expecting the remainder of this batch to ship out shortly"
This has been a fun update to look at the last two weeks after being told they were going to ship 2 weeks before 3/1.

wore my brown duck chinos for the 3rd or 4th time last night and a button popped off. i really like the pants, but G really needs to fire (or train) their button sewer.

When I took the thread out, I found they are using a ~5" peice of thread with no anchor. I don't think I've ever seen such poorly sewed on buttons. I went ahead and secured up all of them. But I gotta say, what an awesome pair of pants, that duck brown fabric is as good as it gets imo

Odd they skimped out on button stitching. Seems like a poor place to save a couple cents.

I bet they screwed up my pair and had to recut and sew them. I was afraid of something like that when the second run came on so quickly.

Just measured them and put them on. Waist came in perfect, calf and cuff opening can in small 7.9" Cuff instead of 8.12" this is big for me because it changes the fit completely for me. I know right now I'm at my biggest and I have some weight to lose just unsure of my calves will get any smaller. Great chinos tho. The heavy weight fabric is in a world of it's own in terms of chinos. I love them.

If I had the chance I would swap my 36slim herringbone chinos to 36 straight.

Looks OK to me, maybe a smidge tight in the thigh. Can you get a wallet or phone in there without it looking odd?

Wallet in the rear pocket looks ok. Phones always look bulky I feel. Otterbox case doesn't help. I try to keep it in a jacket pocket.

I had to move to a front pocket wallet, my back was getting messed up. But if it works for you, then it's all good.

leg openings on my 3 pairs of straight chinos have been at least half an inch below spec, per the fit guide. doesn't sound like much but i can really feel/notice it - the way it does or does not sit over my sneakers/work shoes nicely.
