Hello, I am new here. My first purchase from Gustin was the Graphite Chinos... This was the first time they offered them. I think last Fall. Anyway, the sizing was tricky...not sure how many others have had concerns. I think it's great that it's true sizing...but I've never encountered this before. Most of my chinos are Bonobos Straight- which really are great. I used to wear J Crew. I am ALWAYS a 32 straight. Dress pants, Chinos, 32/32. All of my Seven Jeans are 32 and some have stretched, where I now wished I would've bought a 31...but I am almost NEVER anything other than a 32. So...I ordered a 33 straight in the Chino. They came a couple months later. The fabric is that heavier twill...unlike the peached cotton that the Bonobos Chinos are...still, I LOVED it. The buttons...awesome. The fit...they were quite slim in the hips. I am 5 '11 and 160. I also couldn't fit my hand in the pockets..they were sewn at the tops of the pockets...I pulled them a bit and it let out, and now they're a better. Also...can anyone tell me if their chinos are like this...but they're pretty high-waisted. My tailor hemmed them and assured me they would stretch...they have a bit. Nonetheless, the 33 Straight Gustins fit like a slim cut to me..albeit high waisted like chinos from the late 80s. I wish I would have gone up a size I now see that they have heavy dark camel...and will do the 34 Regular. On another note...bought a pair of 33 jeans they offered. Cody said go with the same size as the Chinos...I did...and they're really poor fitting. The quality looks great, but they're quite large in the rear and upper thighs. The waist, however, is perfect. Maybe I should have gotten the slim. Great clothes. but finding a good fit is very tricky. Although, the customer service is outstanding. I hope they let me exchange my jeans...even though I got them a month ago. The chinos are made a bit more baggier than the denims in the same size. So I think if the waist is fine, then you probably need to just go down a fit (from straights to slims).

Do I believe the Camel Herringbone production status update, due for shipping Feb 27th, and back the Heavy Caramel hoping I receive the Camel Herringbones before sizing locks..Really like the goldish brown shade of the Heavy Caramels.

Sorry for the double post. So what is the rule here? Size up one from your denim size for slim fit chinos? Honestly, I personally don't really know, but some say go up a fit, from slim fit to straight, and some say go up a size and stay the same fit. Gustin said they took into account the lack of stretch in chinos, so they made a, for instance, 33 slim chino slightly bigger in the waist and everywhere else than a 33 slim denim. If you look at the fit guide, the measurements are a little bigger in chinos than their same denim size. What I ended up doing is going up a size and sticking with the same fit, from 33 slim to 34 slim. I'm getting these hemmed regardless, so the extra 2 inches in length don't bother me here. I think it's pretty much guess and check to be honest.

Sorry for the double post. So what is the rule here? Size up one from your denim size for slim fit chinos? My thought is pick one. Either size up or go up one fit. They don't seem to stretch in the same way as the denim, so you're probably better off keeping the fit and going up a size. At least, I wish I would have done that with my Caramel, cause then I'd wear them (like I occasionally wear my graphite chinos), as opposed to wondering what the hell I'm doing with them.

I have 33slim, same size as my denim. They fit me tightly, which is to say I could have gone up one size. But I'm constantly hovering between 170-175pounds. Going up one size may have ended up being too lose. They fit pretty spot on. I say if you're not squeezing into your jeans size, and they fit just right, go with the same size.

I have gone with the same size as my denim size. I can fit in them as long as they fit within measurements. I find they fit very similar to the jeans. I go with 33 slim in both but like he mentioned as long as you aren't crushing yourself to get into the jeans you should be fine.

I bought two pairs (one a size under denim and one equal) and both came in an inch small.
If I ordered again, I'd go a size above denim, just to be safe, as they're a narrower cut anyway.

My 34 slim chinos (first run) fit like my 33 slim denim in everything below the top block. My 34 Straight chinos (latest run of caramel) fit like levi's relaxed fit jeans bought one size too big. I'm thinking I'll run them through washer/dryer cycle and see if they tighten up a bit, and if that doesn't do it get them tailored. It's really weird how much bigger these things are. I'll measure them to see if they're in spec before I commit to them, I guess.

I got the my Army Green Duck Canvas Chino's in today (I got the 32 straights that were in the Stock store). All my Gustin jeans are either 32 or 33 Slim and my other Gustin chinos (that I never wear and need to sell) are 32 Slims, but I gotta say--I'm really liking the Regular cut in these. I'm ok with my jeans being on the snug side, but I like that I've got some room to move around. It's more chino-y if that makes sense.
Materials and construction are superb. Really like these and can see getting a lot of wear out of them.

Can't wait for the camel boners. At least to test fit. Burned more credit on the heavy caramel chinos. Hopefully they are awesome and the fit is on point.

Hi guys, does anyone get shrink on the G chinos? I'm in my 30 slims which is the same size as my jeans, and they're just about fitting. But if I lose some size in the wash (these are going in the cold cycle) I'm gonna be talking higher if you know what I'm saying.

Dry cleaning chinos? You got to be kidding me. Hand wash them if you are really worried about them. Dry cleaning burns away fabric to clean it. It won't get them clean like a wash will. I almost guarantee the cleaners will press a crease into them.
Woolite and hand wash air dry if you are worried about them. They are chinos regardless of prices.

As someone who almost exclusively wears 100% cotton Chinos, I absolutely wash them in the machine. Not only am I trying to soften them, but I'm actually looking to beat in some patina in the cotton.

No dry clean on shirts, denims or chinos please. The whole idea is so wrong and I cannot take it.

Mind = blown. I've been sending my button downs and dress pants/chinos to dry cleaners for years. What's wrong with dry cleaning? I'd imagine if it was bad they would be out of business. My clothes come back perfect from them.

Dry cleaning chemicals are hard on clothes. I send my dress shirts out for launder and press, no starch, no chemicals. I've had a few dress shirts for 15+ years now.
My khakis and jeans both get the washing machine. Maybe when my four month old gets old enough I'll make him wash my jeans in the tub.

Dey cleaning does wreck clothing if done regularly. I like starch though with dress shirts and I do dry clean my tux shirts. But those get worn a lot less than my casual gear which all gets washed only.

For me it depends on the cloth. The standard hard finished ones I wash then send out to be pressed. I like the look, after a while the crease becomes permanent and doesn't require pressing every time. The ones made of a cloth with a soft/brushed hand barely hold a crease at all and wrinkles hang out easily.

Good point, I wash and iron my casual stuff myself. I just prefer my work clothes to be ironed better than I would.

My clothes come back perfect from them. There's nothing wrong with dry cleaning them per se. If it's been working for you and the clothes wear out in a way satisfactory to you, then more power to you. I really like the way the fabric wears when I machine wash my 100% cotton chinos though. I'll admit though, I haven't tried dry cleaning Chinos over the course of time. For all I know they wear out beautifully. Same with an Oxford shirt. A good oxford wants to be machine washed and dried.

The way the dry cleaning chemicals work actually burn the fabric in order to clean it. This is why people don't dry clean nice suits a lot.

Has the first batch of the Heavy Coffee shipped yet? I'm really interested in backing the current offering but was hoping to see a picture of it in the wild first.
