Hi fellas, can anyone speak to the difference between slim and reg G chinos? I wear a 30 slim in the jeans, but I'm worried that some say that the chinos have been coming out small. I'm still waiting on my Japan caramels, but if anyone can give an estimate from the more recent batches of chinos (if they're spec) that would be great. I think they've fluctuated. I ask because I want to get the Navy ones now backing, but I'm hesitant as I haven't yet been able to try my size. JB I have the first generation of Japan Olive, and Cramel chinos, and they are exactly to spec, and I don't believe they have changed anything. That said, I wear the straight fit in their jeans, and went with the same in chinos. To me, the fit is similar in the thigh, but tighter in the knees. If you wear the slims in the jeans, but like a bit more room in your chinos, I think you could safely go with the straight in the chino.

They're slightly looser than the denim, but have a great tailored look for the office. I wish I could find a few more colors for immediate purchase.

got my brown ducks yesterday. ordered in the same slim size as i order my G denim. waist is right on spec, but the rest of the measurements are all quite a bit under:
rise: -.3" thigh -2" knee -1.5" cuff -1"
i was hoping for something just slightly more relaxed than the slim cut...just like the fit guide shows. what i got was something significantly more fitted. going to sleep on it for a day or two and decide if i want to send them back or not. pretty disappointing after the 4 month wait.

Measured mine last night and they are within 1/4" everywhere except the thigh is almost 1" under. They still fit fine so no big deal.

I wear Gustin 32 straight although I think I probably would like 33 better. I have 2 pair of the 34 Slim Gustin chinos and they're great. I actually don't know how they measured up or not. They just fit great and I get tons of compliments about them.

Just ordered the light khaki chinos in 33 slim from the stock store. Not my first (or even third) choice on color and $100 shipped is steep, but I'm not wearing jeans at my new job and I really, really like these pants.

I'm tempted by the Desert Duck Canvas chinos. Can anyone tell me if they're worth it?

I'm tempted by the Desert Duck Canvas chinos. Can anyone tell me if they're worth it? I'm tempted by those too. I like the brown and green ones but I think for my first pair I should get a more basic, neutral color that will go with most anything. Plus I like the fact they are 12 oz and have a more rugged look about them. I think they'll make a great pair that will look good with a lot of work shirts.

I got mine in the mail after a 4 month wait on wednesday.
best chinos I have.
thick substantial fabric.
I can't say I'd pay 110 dollars for them again, or wait 4 months for again.

and...green ducks arrived...under spec like the brown ducks. the difference being that the browns were fine though the top block so i can still wear them. the greens are under spec everywhere but the knees, and i can barely get them buttoned. after a ~4month wait they'll have to go back. hopefully i'll luck out and they'll have some other returns of these in a +1 size.

I haven't done measurements yet, but going to straight from slim seems to be the mistake I was worried about it being. My Japan Caramel Fat Pants came in yesterday, so I'm hoping things work out well with the Ciano pants I've ordered so I can send these off for alterations. The fabric is beautiful and the build is spot-on, but seriously, 34 slim chinos are almost skin tight in the thighs while it feels like I can almost fit both legs into one leg on the 34 straights (space to gain 35 pounds in the thighs). Waist is perfect, though. I'm honestly guessing my slims came in slightly under (as with pretty much all of the first run), and then straights may have come in slightly over, resulting in this strange phenomena.

Just received the Heavy Caramel Chinos and they are fantastic. As most people know, I am a Chino, rather than denim guy, and I love these pants. www.weargustin.com/campaigns/1301Just like the picture, they have this really great burlap type texture to them. I've never had a pair like this before. It gives them this really old school like vintage worker pants look, except that I think I can wear these with a sport coat. I'm going to be experimenting with these as soon as I get them hemmed. I'm impressed.

Got my army green duck chinos. They came in about the same as my brown ducks, which is to say tight but I *think* they still fall in spec. I'll post up a review and measurements after this weekend. I've got kids and dogs all over my life this weekend lol. The short of it on the chinos - I'm happy with these and plan on keeping them. ickes, since I can't do a review until a couple days from now and you were asking about these, here's a quickie info drop. I wear a 32 slim in G jeans and I'm pretty sure most here would wear a 33 slim if they had my same measurements, at least based on peoples fit pics that I've seen. I like stuff a little more trim, too tight for some. I also ordered my chinos in 32 slim since the size chart shows they added a little room here and there. My chinos fit just like my jeans after a little stretch time, just the way I want them, still likely too tight for some here. What does all this mean? Assuming your pair comes sized to spec.... IMHO, if you want the slim cut chinos, size up one. If you want the straight cut, either go true to your jeans size if you want them slimmer or size up one of you want them to fit in a more loose, Dickies style. I know we're on the same page here since we both bought Dickies in Phoenix at Mervyns and the "House of Blue Light" as kids lol. I know you don't skip leg day, so I'm guessing if you go true to size and slim cut in chinos you are going to be rocking some canvas jeggings, brah.

10% sales tax on clothingn? is clothing taxed at a different rate than full sales tax in some areas? No tax on clothing in Rhode Island. Unless the article of clothing is sold for over $250 then you pay 7% tax on anything over $250. That just went into effect a couple of years ago and really killed the higher end boutique market. Apparently the government rather have you buy lower end items from walmart that fall apart and end up in the trash than an item you will own for your life time.

Camel Herringbone Chinos
Production status: 2/18: Chinos close to completion. We will begin shipping orders out 2/27 and continue shipping into the first week of March.
If it stays on track, that'll be two and a half months. I really like the Heavy Caramel Chinos, but I don't want to back another pair unless I know 34 slim is my size.

I backed the heavy caramel chinos. Hopefully I will still be able to alter sizing if I need to after the camel herringbones come in.

Hello, I am new here. My first purchase from Gustin was the Graphite Chinos... This was the first time they offered them. I think last Fall. Anyway, the sizing was tricky...not sure how many others have had concerns. I think it's great that it's true sizing...but I've never encountered this before. Most of my chinos are Bonobos Straight- which really are great. I used to wear J Crew. I am ALWAYS a 32 straight. Dress pants, Chinos, 32/32. All of my Seven Jeans are 32 and some have stretched, where I now wished I would've bought a 31...but I am almost NEVER anything other than a 32. So...I ordered a 33 straight in the Chino. They came a couple months later. The fabric is that heavier twill...unlike the peached cotton that the Bonobos Chinos are...still, I LOVED it. The buttons...awesome. The fit...they were quite slim in the hips. I am 5 '11 and 160. I also couldn't fit my hand in the pockets..they were sewn at the tops of the pockets...I pulled them a bit and it let out, and now they're a better. Also...can anyone tell me if their chinos are like this...but they're pretty high-waisted. My tailor hemmed them and assured me they would stretch...they have a bit. Nonetheless, the 33 Straight Gustins fit like a slim cut to me..albeit high waisted like chinos from the late 80s. I wish I would have gone up a size I now see that they have heavy dark camel...and will do the 34 Regular.
On another note...bought a pair of 33 jeans they offered. Cody said go with the same size as the Chinos...I did...and they're really poor fitting. The quality looks great, but they're quite large in the rear and upper thighs. The waist, however, is perfect. Maybe I should have gotten the slim. Great clothes. but finding a good fit is very tricky. Although, the customer service is outstanding. I hope they let me exchange my jeans...even though I got them a month ago.
