Well after reading all of this I think I'll pass on the Gustin Chinos. I hear people saying how great they are but then at the same time they're saying the fit is odd, the buttons are sewn loosely and fall off, and they're a pain in the ass to unbutton and button for a piss. Hmmmm, confusing...lol.

Hmmmm, confusing...lol. I've never had trouble unbuttoning or buttoning them, but the fit is troublesome to nail down. I've typed out my sizing advice for these like three times in this thread and I can't do it anymore. They're great pants, but the sizing guide feels inaccurate, and don't buy your same zine in slim if you do buy them. But honestly, with how much you guys love the 816's from IH, and you know you like the fit, you might as well continue to go there. I think the Gustin chinos are great, but the sizing makes them hard to recommend. They most definitely feel slimmer than the jeans despite the fit guide (in both slim and straight) in my experience. All that said, I love my Gustin Chinos, the fabrics are great, the construction is great, and if you can nail the fit they look great.

Fit guide for chinos is completely inaccurate at least with size 36's. Made the mistake of not sending them back when I should have. Oh well.

Received the Brown Duck Canvas Chino today, my first Gustin order. On trying them on I can see why the discussion of the buttons came up a few posts ago I thought I was going to be stuck in them for good at one point! I like the colour, material, construction and the cut(went with Straight) looks good. The pockets I find a little odd. To me both rear and front pockets are very shallow, the back ones more so than normal but its the fronts that bother me, that combined with their slightly triangular shape mean a wallet barely fits. While the fit looks good, I would prefer something a bit looser for everyday wear personally, may try living with them for a bit and see how they hold up or try to sell. I can see why they are decent value if you are in the US, but calculating shipping to the UK into the mix I've bought better for less in the past.

Gustin pockets have always been shallow. I've gotten used to it.

I suggest getting G's chinos in duck.
the twills are kind of weak.
My desert ducks are awesome. they are probably my favorite purchase from G.
my japan caramels are meh. they dont feel sturdy and do not look particularly special.

I still wear my dark brown duck canvas chinos. I like how they fit and they look great. If it wasn't the damn button fly, I'd wear them more often.

Wore these exact pants today, in slim, to the office. Man, I love them. They stretch out. Don't worry. They wear nicely.

Took a dive on my first chinos. Opted for the Navy American. Didn't size up since my 33 slims typically are spot on for me. Easy decision with store credit.

Let us know if they work out size-wise, it'd be good to hear they're coming in to spec. I typically wear 33 slim jeans and I don't think I'd be able to get into 33 slim chinos based on the 34 slim I have.

I usually wear it with my Wolverine 1k Courtlands. Paired with a brown belt. Love my Courtland

I am waiting on my first pair of Chino's, I ordered them from the stock store and hopefully will be here this week.
With a 34" inseam, do you guys cuff your chinos like a pair of jeans or get them hemmed?

Looks trashy if stacked too much or cuffed.

I am hoping I can get away with a small cuff to get the correct length but keep them business casual.

If you can wear chinos to work, cuffed chinos will also work. A manually cuffed chino tends to look better than the fake cuff on every IT nerd's Dockers anyway.

I wear chinos like I wear jeans. Very casually. I cuff my jeans, I cuff my chinos. I do not wear chinos to work. Nor do I bring an axe.

Hey, let's be clear. Only the cartoonish IH Buffalo Flannels are LS. I will buy the non buffalo ones when they hit Rodeo Bros. I hate the RgT ones even more.

I don't own any regular chinos that are long enough that I need a cuff, but I imagine I would rather than hem unless if they are crazy long. I do wear chinos to work.
