is there any general consensus on sizing up on gustin chinos? I'm actually looking to swap my 36 slims over for straights. too bad you don't have 34s.

I will also say, I figured that I would be good to go straight for the caramels cause the previous chinos I got were just a little too tight. They came in huge everywhere. I've tried washing them warm, and they tightened up a bit, but they are huge through the top block, so I guess I'm gonna try a hot wash and see if they become too small -- hopefully the top block tightens up and I can actually wear the damn things, cause I love the color.

So for me I consider chinos too small if there is pocket flare. Taking my jeans size in chinos resulted in flare, so I sized up for my next two pairs. They're kinda roomy though, so I may size up + go slims next time.

In Gustin jeans I have 32 straight and 33 slim.
Chinos I went with 34 slim and they're perfect.
Well they would be but I've gained done weight

is there any general consensus on sizing up on gustin chinos? same waist up one fit, or size up. depends on how you buy your jeans. If you need stretch, don't count on that out of the chinos, and size appropriately. At this point, the next chinos I buy will be the slim fit, two waist-sizes up from the jeans size I buy. General consensus seems to be size up one, Gustin says buy your same size. Thanks for the reply. do you mean up one from your regular size or up one from what ever is your size on the gustin chart?

For example, if you wear 33 slim, order 34 slim (though I'm 33, and will do 35 slim if/when I order again). 33 straight, go 34 straight. If you buy jeans loose in the waist on first wear, then buy your same size.

Machine wash + dried my brown and green ducks; ruined them. Uneven dye loss. Also something metal in the load streaked the hell out of the greens (edit: which had been worn once):

I'm thankful that I learned this lesson with some relatively inexpensive jeans (though they were really cool, grey like the Gustin okayama shadow but with indigo instead of black, with a brushed weft) and I ruined the hell out of them. Didn't turn them inside out, left the washer on the normal cycle with the supersonic spin. These days there's all sorts of indigo washer streaks and other ugliness going on with them I'm sorry for your loss, though. I'd be devastated (you know, in that material loss way, but not like, devastated devastated -- my heart would go on).

TO be clear - I'm talking Celine Dion - Marty McFly, et al are part of my 20s. We had two BTTF parties - as in dressed up and all. It's that north of the border thing I'm talking about...

C'mon, Old26, let's not offend 25% of the members here. We all know they blast her music during their commutes, with a healthy dose of Justin Bieber. And you guys totally believed 30 years ago, that 30 years later we'd have hoverboards, right?

Our studio is getting production credit on a movie being made here in Minnesota starring Christopher Lloyd Aka Doc Brown. minnesotabrown.com/2015/02/great-scott-doc-brown-visits-iron-range-hot-spot.html

I like the boners. Subtle herringbone pattern. Kinda rusty orange. My next chino I'll try 36 straight instead of slim. They keep sewing up tight in the leg.

Japen Camel Herringbone in more detail. These are some beautiful chinos. Along with the "Heavies", they are definitely knocking on Mister Freedom's door.

L to R: Graphite, Japan Military Green, Japan Camel Herringbone, Heavy Caramel, Heavy Coffee: Those heavies look great too. The Heavy Coffee is on my want list for sure. I have the graphite on order now and keep waffling on sizing, so I hope it comes in fitting well.
