That Nihon Menpu "beige" weft was always amusing to me because there's not a damn thing that's beige about that weft. Complete false advertising if you ask me. Thats not to say its not a good fabric but I never understood why Roman called it a beige weft.

It did have a creamish tint similar to a vintage weft of say RRL jeans. That color is gone now that i washed em a bunch

I don't know, unless I'm color blind or they sent me the wrong fabric, I don't see a brown or even beige tint on my pair. Not noticeable anyways

I have them and like them a lot but the only way they'd be beige or brown is if you rolled in mud wearing the inside out!

So many denims were mis named so it was likely another denim that got used up by accident. The Japan Dova I chose had a true beige weft when it was 1st listed on the site but when i got my shirt it was white. I later found the original Japan Dova fabric hiding away under other small rolls. That denim was by far my favorite out of all. Till this day i wish i would have got it.

I'm wearing a pair of PvsW jeans right now that I picked up from eBay a few months back for $60. The guy that was selling them had 50+ pairs and was also selling various quantities of Cone denim. I have no idea why, but I assume the company had some debt and sold off a lot of stock. One thing that struck me when looking at the Lawless site is that the design of their jeans- IE the details- are IDENTICAL to the jeans I'm wearing. Have a look here: People vs West (16.7oz), scroll down to view the images: www.ebay.com/itm/People-vs-West-Selvedge-Denim-Jeans-Made-in-USA-Cone-Mills-White-Oak-16-7oz-/131476774128LD&Co 15.2oz: ldandco.us/collections/surplus/products/15-2-oz-cone-selvedge-jean?variant=2920805891Other than the leather patch that has been removed and the mysterious loss of 1.5oz (no idea) they are identical. It really wouldn't surprise me if, as stated above, the jeans have just been purchased at bulk and (somewhat) 'rebranded'. Also, yeah they are vanity sized a fair bit. Wow, I own a pair of People Vs West jeans and this is really strange! This pair of jeans you posted from Lawless most certainly looks like it was made in the same place as People Vs West has their denim manufactured. My theory is that these are made in his new "facility" in LA? But in reality these denim jeans are made at the same operation/sewing factory as People VS West, Civilianaire,BraveStar. And many many other brand names we are familiar with all using "Cone Mills" sourced denim. This big denim sewing operation has been around for a long while but I cannot remember the name at the moment.

@dirty_denim did RA even have enough " Brown weft" to fulfill a run of jeans, shirts and/or jackets?
And what do you know if the deadstock Pendleton fabrics? I ordered the camel checker. I saw ONE posted in reviews but now wonder how much fabric y'all really had on hand.

That it would be used/offered in the RTW Fall line up.

Why do we have all this fabric laying around?! I've got an idea. Since sales are slowing down we should have the staff make all this fabric into clothes we can sell on the site! Then we can use that money to work through the custom backlog!" I really wish that this wasn't how this story was unfolding.

He def bought a lot of that and had access to a lot more

I really wish that this wasn't how this story was unfolding. Accounting for denim already bought by customers was not one of Romans strong points. Put it this way, he initially thought 2 yards to be enough for each item. (not possible with all the custom measurements) That would cause denims to run out even though customers were still seeing 20 available to buy. During the last 2 months i was there I bumped those numbers to 3 yards per items to assure everyone got their item. He loved fluffy numbers in his favor

Dirty_Denim those jeans are looking nice. My shacket is fading slowly but surly. Haven't washed it nor soaked it. Still raw and dry. Its pretty hot in the Bay Area to be wearing it everyday, however, I've been forcing myself to wear it while i drive and take it off at my destination. HA do it for the fadez!! Also, the weft is pretty beige, almost like a dirty color. At least in my perspective

Fit looks even better than the slim straights minus the hem being a smidge to wide I only wear my jeans now that i am living in 110-115 degree HEAT and even those are pushin it. My shirts and jackets have all taken a hike till the freezing 80 degree winter hits As for urs being beige, i wonder if u got different denim.

Comparing my other denim that i have (Sixteeners, Tellason 16.5 oz jacket, and Cone 101 WS), theres a substantial difference in weft color.

I've got a western shirt from The Flat Head and I take it with me any time I drive my GFs G35 stick. I also caught myself doing arm extensions at a red light. Fadestrubation is a bitch of a habit. So much shame. That shirt is going to be sick in a year or two though.

I feel like it might surpass the traffic on the various subthreads. I mean, if you're into that thing.

It's like my "driving jacket"...lol. I will also wear them around the house if I'm chilling, playing video games or whatever. I'm such a nerd.

I really HOPE that Roman paid $50/pair for those jeans and then sold them for $25. I really wanted to feel guilty about receiving a full refund inc. overseas shipping on four items tho they sent one...... I was very clear in my refund request what i had received and to deduct that.

Come to think about it, I do need some new readers!
