So true, @untucked. I've had all sorts of work attire that was assigned to me through numerous engineering gigs. Lots more buttons than snaps for sure, especially on any haz op stuff for handling ordnance or doing launch ops etc and possibly plastic zipper.. The only thing I can remember having snaps were some ESD smocks to wear around delicate electronics. It's funny, if you go to the Rockmount Ranchwear site and read the history of their iconic Western shirt, the purpose of the snaps was to let go and open up when riding through brush rather than holding and allowing the shirt to rip. I don't know anything about being a cowboy so who knows if that makes any sense. Like you, I still think snaps look badass and like them better than buttons most of the time on casual/workwear shirts. I figured we needed snaps because any woman worth her salt would rip our clothes off as soon as soon as they saw our badass LD shirt Touché! But.......... If a woman has the dexterity to take off her skin tight jeans, she surely can undo the manly donut buttons on my LD shirts, lol.

@winterland - yes I was talking about the snaps. And the shirt was $160 off rakuten vs 73$ lawless (not 50% off)
Shirt is fantastic construction and I would think lawless will make tweeks over time. I haven't has a single IH snap pop doing daily stuff. Lawless I did. I do think it's the material putting extra pressure not bad snaps.

What weight is your shirt? I know mine are 14oz, and I feel BULLET PROOF. But this matches a slightly strange theory that I have: ABC x ABC denim always seems to be more stiff, in my experience

I have the 15.2oz cone. Good standard denim, heavy weight for a shirt. Armor like.

My snaps seam to be more than fine for my 14 oz shirt. Its possible that the fabric is popping thru the hole a bit much that may cause the snap to pop?

That is possible I will double check when I get home. I love the shirt. Gives me more motivation to keep the gut down so I dont pop a snap! Gonna be the best motorcycle shirt. @sal you were right I do like the amber snaps over the black color wise.

So My 18.5 oz Kuroki Mills from LD....I've decided that I am going to stretch them out through wearing since the fabric is pretty expandable it seems. I still look a bit like a make hooker in them, but it's improving. The tight thighs have stretched a bit after 2 days of wear and the jeans are pretty comfortable as long as I don't bend over, in which case my ass crack is on display. Thankfully, for the good of society, the long Gustin Workshirts are perfect for covering this up.
I do regret getting the selvedge on the back pockets. I am considering taking a black sharpie to the white selvedge to darken it. Good idea or na?

I'm really simple with my reviews, especially this one. I'm new to the world of leather jackets, and I know we have some SERIOUS aficionados here, so I don't want to over step my boundaries when I do it lol

I assume the brahs here will probably just give you some good advice and not knock your jacket that you already have because that would be counterproductive and lousy. "I only buy the finest leather made from only cow scrotums from one of the finest farms in Italy. The buttons are from chiseled moon rocks. Your jacket is pretty blah." This community is about information. Without brahs like you posting photos and information, we would have to rely on the information from the Gustins (only the finest mills and freshest churned buttery shirts) and Lawlesses (only name rank and serial number...look at the photo and like it) and Cianos (EVERYTHING IS PLANT INDIGO...EVER! AHHHHH!). They are businesses...the people here give opinions without any incentive and I like that. Shoot, I am not going to order that jacket. You know how hot it is here...even though this past week was the coldest ever and I think at least three okinawans in my office froze to death...even though it never got below freezing.

The jacket looks well made and the leather looks substantial. From where I sit the stitching looks pretty spot on. I also like how it creases at the arms. And it has some nice grain going on that gives it character and this will only inprove and get stronger and more pronounced as you wear it.
I do not care for the bottom without even a line of stitching, this looks wierd to my eye. I also wonder what type of leather it is. Is it lamb?

I do not care for the bottom without even a line of stitching, this looks wierd to my eye. I also wonder what type of leather it is. Is it lamb? So, yesterday/last night was my first time wearing it. I will start my "review" here with THE BAD: The collar seems slightly oversized, a la Gustin Chore Coat. The brown piping; not really BAD, but it was unexpected, and wasn't what I envisioned when I purchased the jacket. (But, I'm thinking now that it was a genius idea to better incorporate my not so normal button choice) The lining: it's the silky kind of liner that would be used in a blazer. I think canvas would have been far better through the body of it, and the silky stuff for the sleeves (so the jacket doesn't push/pull your sleeves when donning/doffing. It lacks a "hang loop". Chest pockets: from the perspective of practicality, I dislike the chest pockets. I don't ride motorcycles, but when I was wearing this jacket, I felt like I SHOULD BE RIDING A FREAKIN' MOTORCYCLE! That being said, the storage pockets don't work for quick simple access. They do look good though. What would be better served is side-entry zip pockets, or side-entry snap closure pockets. (I'm sketching a WS design that uses these kind of pockets.) Nitpick: I think the sleeves should be a smidge more slim. Now, THE GOOD: The leather! Idk if it's vintage deadstock triceratops belly skin, or maybe just goat... But it's so soft, yet obviously substantial. Nice, even, deep black color, and it makes me smell like Ron Burgundy's library filled with leather bound books. The overall look. In 3hrs of drinking, I was told that my jacket was very nice and that I look like about 5 different kinds of badasses. I was said to look like a hit man, a mobster, a member of a bike gang, a rebel without a cause, and "an underwear model, with great tastes in clothing" <---- all of those are ACTUAL statements from other people, lol ------------- I'm gonna close out my review here, for now. It's not much, but damn good for a guy who's hungover and hungry as a hostage. Overall, it's a nice jacket, and my new favorite while this cool weather last in Okinawa.

Also, I did a shower soak. Some guy on the internet said that's the best way to break in a leather jacket, and I'll say I'm very pleased with the results. It immediately took the jacket from "That's a nice jacket, Bro!" to "Damn! That thing looks GREAT on you!". That is the reason for my banging elbow honeycomb after only 1 wear.
