just a note to those trying to decide between a single or double chainstitch cuff...i've noticed on my promo pair of 14 oz Cone Orange Selvedge (cone peach ID) that the double chainstitch doesn't allow for much roping effect. the look itself is not bad, but i do like the roping that chainstitching develops and based on this will probably always choose a single chainstitch. I want to try at least one pair with double. I too like the roping, but I can forego on one pair for comparisons... yep. i'm glad this pair came with a double to satisfy that curiosity.

davelewis You will be really happy once your shirt comes in. Trust me as I am wearing mine as I type this. Everyone just be patient and let LD work out their kinks. @wils can you please post one pic of you wearing the jeans and jacket together. We all know you put them on together and thought about posting it

Just received two LD pairs of denim from their KS campaign (14 oz Nihon Menpu dark grey and the japanese "mystery" denim, a 16.6 oz slubby indigo with pink ID. In comparing these two jeans to my recent review of the 18.5 oz LD jeans I received a few days ago (old site order), both of these KS jeans are just as great. Fit very well, stitching spot on, and all the same cool details (scalloped stitching, thick veg patch, fully lined rear pockets, fully lined coin pocket, chainstitched hem to my correct inseam, etc.). I had to laugh when I read the latest article in rawrdenim about a new SanFran denim company. I almost could have cut and pasted the article straight into my review here of my LD jeans. Only difference is I paid alot less $ than the author paid for his single pair. I must admit to having had trepidation about LD (and KS in general as the LD campaign was the first KS I ever backed), but since I have now received an LD WS and three pairs of LD jeans, I now firmly believe there is hands down no better deal out there in denim at the moment. Only negative is the wait times. For those that have yet to receive an LD item, hang in there, the wait will be worth it. I provided a pic of LD's hand written note on the invoice apologizing for the delays. Gustin blueline2's provided for color comparison. Enjoy!

I forgot, the $214 pledge on the invoice also includes an LD cone mills WS, of which I have yet to receive.
Sorry, I messed up the order in the pics (swapped order between pics). From top to bottom in the hem ID pic: the 18.5 LDs (red ID), 15 oz dark gray LDs (red ID), and 16.6 oz slub LDs (pink ID).

I look at my LD chino tonight and think they are higher construction quality than Gustin and Naked and Famous. What do you think out of your three pairs? Agree with you about the value and my pair of Postal Herringbone Chino is almost two third cheaper than the price on what G is going for their now.

Very cool. I will be a happy person when mine shows up. I believe you ordered an XXL regular? , and is it as expected size wise? Well I ordered an XL when the first chart was released. When the chart was redesigned, i requested to change to a XXL slim. When I called LD a couple weeks and spoke with Jim, he said my shirt had not been changed and was cut as an XL. Since then, I was expecting to receive the shirt in XL and was totally surprised/ecstatic when I opened the box to see a XXL slim. Here is a quick fit pic

bigblack It looks very nice. Is that the "brown weft" nihon menpu? It looks so light......I thought it was much more blue.

Dammit, BB and Middle just scored big time. Those are some of the illest shirts I have seen of this kind. Congrats to both. Still waiting, and I wonder if the rest of us are starting to feel a little like Beavis here.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Roman for creating such a great garment at such a low price. Second, I would like to say sorry for such an essay of a review. I am one of the first people to receive such shirt and I think LD needs it. Some stats about me I'm 6'1 weighing in at 248 lbs (Food truck job is an amazing terrible thing) I wear 38 slim in Gustin (16ers, Hemps and Bl x Coal are my current rotation) Been in the raw denim game for about 7 years now Struggling college grad that has realized chemist do not retire so it's hard to find a deserving job DenimThe fabric itself has a real rigid hand feel to it, typical to that of a sturdy pair of pants. It really feels like I am wearing a jacket and not a shirt. The denim is woven tight and finished with a nice pink selvedge line. Roman advertised the denim to have a brown weft and I believe it should have not been. The weft is far from brown and like Sal said, it is more of a beige color (off white to most of us men). Slub was also advertised in the name and that is an overstatement. If anyone has had TFH denim then the slub is comparable to that. When raw, the denim looks regular and consistent; however you can see where the slub will peak through throughout the wear creating texture with nice vertical fading. I am expecting some high contrast fades with this denim. I wish Roman could have an unlimited supply to this fabric so everyone can get a go at it at least once. Construction
Roman and his team of sewers constructed a very very good shirt. Tho, it’s not completely perfect; another person, when wearing the shirt, cannot see the flaws. When laid flat, the bottom is not symmetrical and the left side scoops up a little earlier compared to the right side. NOT A BIG DEAL AND NO ONE WILL EVER NOTICE IT. Also, there is one thread that missed the denim on the bottom stitching. AGAIN, NOT A BIG DEAL AND NO ONE WILL EVER NOTICE IT nor do I think it will cause any unraveling. Other than that, the joints line up and are sewn to the best ability being 15 oz. All the seams are as straight as hand possible. Great construction. FitAs you can see from my previous pic, the fit is pretty spot on throughout. The length is about an inch too long but I don’t care that much. Sleeves are measured perfectly for my arms. Most of my button down shirt sleeves are a bit too short. When I reach my arms forward in this shirt, the sleeves end at my wrist and not my forearm. I do not feel constricted in the shoulders like I do in my Gustin shirts. If I could change anything of the fit, it would be the armhole diameters, but that just can be from my skinny arms. The big armholes add to the jacket feeling and not that of a shirt. I am very happy with the fit and will definitely be wearing non-stop. DesignNow, when I put in the order for the shirt, it was the day after Roman released this photo ( gustinfriends.proboards.com/attachment/download/45). So I was hoping for a standard pointed pocket and not a straight bottom pocket. Not a big deal but that’s what I was hoping for. I like the selvedge lining on the cuffs and inside the button line. A small gaudy touch that everyone will like. One aspect I’m kicking myself is changing the Egyptian Topaz thread to classic brown color. The brown is a little dark for my liking but that’s not anyone’s fault except my own. It’s just not as contrasting as say my Tellason jacket is. Now I asked for no lining, however, LD missed that note. I chose the beige canvas just incase that happened. I’m not mad at the lining and the pockets feel real sturdy with it. The purple snaps give the shirt an eccentric look that is completely different than any other denim shirt you’ll see on the market. It’s my personal twist. One thing I will complain about is not getting my leather samurai tag. I thought that was going to set LD and me apart from literally every other company. If LD can make it up and put it on my second shirt, that would be great. Triple stich on the back yoke and the shoulder yokes would look cool. Similar to that of Iron Heart but LD is not IH **shrug**. ConclusionOverall, I am very pleased with what LD has created. This shirt can easily go for 4x more than what I actually paid. I am going to wear this as often as I can to soften it up so it can feel more like a shirt and not a jacket. Dealing with LD, you have to be patient because the reward is greater than the risk. Once LD works out the kinks throughout this year, LD will be hard to beat in the future. Now I’m just waiting for Roman to start weaving his own 20+ oz denim so I can have a really heavy type II. Keep up the good work LD On to the pics this are the two areas I'm talking about error. My left side tapers a little earlier than my right side Then the missed denim stitch

I ordered mine with the Egyptian topaz, and Tiger eye snaps. After seeing yours, I'm sure I'll like mine, when/if, it makes it. I know, be patient. I agree in that it really doesn't appear as described, as I expected the weft to be similar to the weft on the Postal Herringbon, and the slub is pretty subdued.

No mood to deal with the shirt on the top but hey, check out the one at the back. Not a total loss.
