No mood to deal with the shirt on the top but hey, check out the one at the back. Not a total loss. You need to get one of those powerful Rowenta irons. You'll take care of that WabiSabi in 2 minutes.

On the other hand, the Lawless Western shirt fits perfect on me.... SO HAPPY. Cost 1/4 and I like it 10x better. (but it is not perfect.... will talk more in my review when I have the energy)

I believe G got the fabric from Pacific Blue in LA where said on IG that the fabric is no more. Trust me, it is $150 of my money and I don't want to flash it to the toilet like my last G work shirt.

Is this IxI? Nice and I missed out on it. I feel bad of your wait and hang in there. My shirt, jacket and pant all came out nice.

No mood to deal with the shirt on the top but hey, check out the one at the back. Not a total loss. That wabi-sabi fabric looks awesome. I hope you find a way to make it work for you. If not (and this goes for all denims we can't live without), there will be others. They might not make that particular one anymore, but something else will show up eventually that will be its equal or superior. Try thinking of it like a casino. You might be out $150, but will putting more money in get you the jackpot? If you do get it tailored and it works out, post pics!

My G Hickory Stripe WS was dead on arrival due to the indigo bleeding between the stripes after the wash.
I tried to be careful on this one and the fabric is fine after my wash today. It is going to cost me $$$ but my tailor will be able to fix the fit. 3-4 inches off the waist and 2 inches of the tail.

I had to have my G flannels altered, but I needed an inch off the sleeves and so now there is only about an inch to the sleeve button and it looks kind of silly. It also was about 20-30 dollars, but I really liked the fabrics and get why you'd try to save this one.

I just got my shirt that I bought from ickes and it seems to have all measurements pretty close to L-regular except its shorter and have narrower shoulders. The short length is to me spot on, and yes the shoulders are a little trim, but I can do it, so basically if all my shirts come in with this specs and my custom length, and the right shoulders, then they should fit like gloves! Thankes Ickes for a smooth transaction.

Already spewing vitriol about the workshirt (that you chose to keep knowing you hate the fit) into other threads. The next two weeks of every thread being about how terrible the g workshirt is in comparison to topo designs, Patagonia, Lawless, 3sixteen, rogue territory, and every other brand is not being looked forward to, and has no positive benefit.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Roman for creating such a great garment at such a low price. Second, I would like to say sorry for such an essay of a review. I am one of the first people to receive such shirt and I think LD needs it. Some stats about me I'm 6'1 weighing in at 248 lbs (Food truck job is an amazing terrible thing) I wear 38 slim in Gustin (16ers, Hemps and Bl x Coal are my current rotation) Been in the raw denim game for about 7 years now Struggling college grad that has realized chemist do not retire so it's hard to find a deserving job Definitely do NOT apologize for such a detailed and quantitative review. Wish everyone would put in the same time and effort to explain what they did and did not like and, most importantly, why. Long on facts, short on drama, and the opinions are grounded in evidence. This is the kind of review that actually helps me make purchasing and sizing decisions. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Also, feel free to PM me with your current location and CV if you wish. My wife and I are both in chemistry-related fields, and I'd be happy to assist in whatever small way I can.

Thanks Mattbert I really appreciate your offer to help. I've have come to the realization that a B.S. in chemistry is really BS in the SF Bay Area. I have taken upon myself to apply for master's program, then eventually onto Ph.D. Maybe in about 5 years I will PM you to take you up on your offer hahaha

I am from the Bay Area and I helped many of my engineers to transition from IT to be managers by them getting a MBA. I also coached some of my MBA interns and they are now working for Google, Facebook and many Bay Area companies now. One cautious tale is MBA doesn't guarantee a great step up on income. Many time, it is not worth to accumulate a large student loan. Many of MBA part time students are worse off because of paying the MBA loan with only slightly increased on future income. Good luck to your decision. Bay Area is a nice place but the standard of living can be a bit out of whack.

I did 4.5 years of undergraduate research and I have a publication. I'm volunteering at my undergraduate lab until M.S. starts in August. I'm determined to be a medicinal chemist.

BB, not to stick my nose in, but I am an academic (though in the humanities), and I would just encourage you in your decision to continue. There are no guarantees about jobs on the other end, and PhDs can themselves be a debilitating experience (as you know). But if you are determined, as you say, you must not waver. I know many friends who gave up at your stage, and after, and now they tell me they regret their decision every day. Once you quit it is extremely hard to get back in. Not that this is relevant, but I had to go overseas to find a PhD program that gave me a bit of financial help, and fit with my situation (personally and intellectually). In the end, I graduated from Oxford with honors. Even so, I had to go to Australia for my first job. This is all to say: you'll have to keep on making sacrifices and taking risks in your academic career, and in this climate, you may even have to go overseas to work for a while. But if that is truly your ambition don't give up. OK, sorry if that was unsolicited advice and non-denim! I won't feel bad if I get censored!

But if that is truly your ambition don't give up. OK, sorry if that was unsolicited advice and non-denim! I won't feel bad if I get censored! Dude, I had to move halfway across the country for my first job...then all over the midwest with that job. Then to keep moving up (and for adventure), I went overseas. It isn't for everyone, but getting paid to work and travel is amazing. The downside is...I have no "home" now. I don't think I will ever have one again. And to make this a review (and the reason I came here before I saw the work stuff), here is an action fit pick of my lawless. I am 5' 11.5" (seriously, never made it to 6') pushing about 210lbs right now. Jeans are 37 straight (now a little loose on me since I started eating better and running again...these are similar in fit to my Gustin 36's) with the 13 oz japanese mystery denim (crosshatch slub...I thought it was boring at first, but it has grown to possibly be my favorite of all of my denims...and the 13oz is the perfect weight for most situations...and acceptable during the winter here. We will see how sweaty balls they get over the summer. I have some 10 and 10.5 ounce on order for that). I thought they looked good in this photo. Belt is a gustin natural leather aged a year and some months. The only bad thing about the lawless is the double belt loop in the back (which I love)...my gustins wore a notch in that belt on the center loop...so the two loops have this funky belt notch right between them. Hopefully my lawless belt on order will rectify that situation. I also got it one size up just in case I injure my legs again and stop running for a while. Stuff wasn't fitting for a little while. I am usually on the second notch of that belt. Sometimes on the middle...after christmas, I was precariously on the last notch. Now I am between the second and the middle again. You needed that information.

I am glad that you ara determined. My brother is a PHD in robotic and I watched him gone through the program and it wasn't easy. However, he was like you that he loved research and enjoyed the whole time in the program. His career started out really rough (including selling refrigerator at Sears in Pleasanton) but now he is a senior manager at a top tech company. Just be careful about the student loan. Good luck and hang in there.

And the @rex Fluevogs return. I had some in the mid 90's. Yours are cooler. Mine were black, clunky and looked like they walked off the set of "Frankenstein". Edit...just remembered that I had some cool slip on boots too. I can't remember where they went. bigblack, keep at it man. I come from the engineering side vs the pure science/research side but either way the path is challenging, full of twists and you'll end up someplace cool that you haven't even considered at this point.

Before Old26 starts chiming in and telling us to stay on topic; everyone, thank you for all your motivating words. I am definitely determined to stick with chemistry. I graduated 2013 and ever since been trying to find a entry position that I like. I either don't have enough industry experience or I am not suitable for a position. A lot of these positions require a B.S with 3-5 years of experience which is practically impossible for a recent grad. A lot of my friends were in the same position and they either went to graduate school or settle for a less deserving job. I know once I get my M.S. and Ph.D., a lot more doors will open up for me. With that, lets get back on topic and talk about LD products My dad had asked me about doing MBA in science but I love doing lab work. I did 4.5 years of undergraduate research and I have a publication. I'm volunteering at my undergraduate lab until M.S. starts in August. I'm determined to be a medicinal chemist. Good luck and hang in there. Sallie Mae is literally drowning me. I just so happened to go to state school (SJSU) while the education budget cuts. My final year cost double than what I paid my first year. So you can imagine how much Sallie Mae is holding me by the dick
