At least they are sending something. It's an improvement. I guess. At least that is the first unsolicited thing I've received. It is just dissapointing, when I get told one thing from employees on many occasions, and it just doesn't happen. I'd rather get no promises, than broken ones. That's definitely the reason why I decided to sit back. Too much "looking into" without enough actual looking into, and too much "it'll be shipped out in x weeks" and months pass. Until this all gets sorted out, I'm going to stay out of the game.

Over the last week I've received 2 shipping notifications from LD. Since I had backed 2 KS pairs, I assumed both had shipped. One package was claimed to be delivered (but never was), and the other was never picked up from LD. After multiple inquiries to LD I found out that the first shipment had been canceled and then recreated...so only one item ever shipped. I haven't yet been able to find out which item shipped, nor when the 2nd might be shipping. I also doubt I'll ever see the item that has shipped since the USPS is giving me a run around in their investigation. I also know that both denims I backed are no longer available...so if they don't show up there's no chance at a replacement. The KS hits keep coming.

I don't think it's going to happen. In my field when I get beat on a proposal by 50% I know one of two things will happen. 1. The work will be delivered at a snail's pace by the cheaper firm. 2. There will be change orders that bring the final price within 10-20% of what I would have charged.

It's no secret I am of the same opinion. All I can point out is that some of the complaints I read here lately are eerily similar to the derided Yelp reviews. Things are looking better though since at least some are receiving deliveries.

After reading David's post, it just reinforces to me that LD is still running aound with their heads cut off. They say they are improving, and getting a better handle on things, but then you read that, it makes my wonder.

Received my Tan/Tan in 30 S-T today. Once again, construction and detail are beautiful and qualify as artistic. This is a huge differentiator versus peers in this price range.
Caveats to those of you waiting on old site orders, though. None of the post-order change requests could be honored. I requested these cut as chinos, but received the standard 5 pocket cut. I also requested a change to the slim straight, but got slim taper. Good thing they fit really well on me and will be strongly considered for my future Lawless orders. Finally, I got the double chainstitch, though I *think* I requested the single. Like many others here, seeing the double in person, it looks much more "normal" and less gratuitous than I imagined and will be my selection for future orders, as well. I would have preferred to have gone there myself, but am pleasantly surprised with the mistake.
Now, I know these issues would be enough to send many here over the edge, but I'm still really happy with what I received and seriously can't get over the details and construction, especially for the price.
Hopefully these issues are isolated to the old site's inability to properly catalog changes and are cleared up with the new site. If you've got old site orders out there with changes, keep your fingers crossed!

Like everyone else here, I have plenty of clothes to wear in the mean time. I have a gut feel that things will continue be crazy for at least another 2-3 weeks before LD settles down. Frankly, I have 0% need of the clothes from the LD order, so I never pay attention of the wait time. As long as I know LD will deliver my order, I am good. However, I am very nervous about the size of my pants/jeans and worry they will be too slim. Anyway, I should know for sure next week..... fingers crossed.

That is exactly I was worried that things can mess up. How the size and workmanship conpare to G? Also, pictures please.

All I can say about size is that Lawless measures almost precisely to their listed measurement at the waist. In comparison to my G's, they measure slightly looser than the tightest pair of 30 G's in the waist (my NIxP's, which came in at 29.5). Since they're a slim taper, I can't really compare them to any of my G's, except to say the thighs feel more form fitting. They're actually a bit looser than my post-shrink 31 Slim Loomies. Confused? In short, I believe most will find them to be just a bit snugger than G's of the same size, on average. Regarding construction, this is where the casual denim wearer (which none of us are) might be indifferent to most differences. To the denim obsessed, though (admit it, we have a "problem" - I mean, we've just got higher standards and appreciation for things), the construction and detail will look more "crafted" and less "manufactured." You will notice more perpendicularity and attempt to line up details like the areas where the cuff rolls over and even how the bar tacks that secure the belt loops look on the inside of the garment. This gives me an opportunity to show-off my Kakishibu dyed Loomies (favorite fabric now, hands-down) in a side-by-side comparison of specific details. On the G's, the area where the cuff rolls over does not line up as precisely as they do on my Tan/Tan LD's. It's not so easy to see in the picture here, but take a look at your G's and look at the area I speak of. On the one pair (yeah, sample size issue) I have of LD's, both sides line up perfectly. On the rear, the yoke lines up more precisely on the LD's than on the G's.. the interior does not, but the aesthetically important side does. It's not so fair to compare other details, such as offsets and such, since the Loomies could have inherent variation due to the soak. Check out how neat and tight the LD's features are, though. Finally, the interior has a lot going on. I'm sure there are a bunch of details to discuss, but look at how the bartacks are neat and tight on the LDs and how they seem to intersect the pockets on the G's seemingly at random and possibly without standards for whether the pocket should be straight (you can see the bartack was sewn through the pocket liner while it was uneven and folded over). While you're at it.. check out the kakishibu effect on the pocketbags =) In person the loomies have the most amazing orange-brown cast and signature loomie texture (damn you stinky - I should'a copped two pairs). Sorry for using loomies as a comparison, but the only other G's I have available are my Beasts and that would be unfair for obvious reasons. The rest of my G's are already packed. I don't want to seem biased against G. I love their products (especially their fabrics) and have had nothing but great experiences with their customer service. I'm glad they're around and still check back there every so often to see what's up, though I've resolved to buy only from the stock store or secondary market for a few reasons I won't get in to. @wils asked about details and construction, and this is my answer. It's a bit of an unfair fight to ask me for comparisons on quality and construction between G and LD 'cause I think G's business model immediately sets them at a disadvantage. In the end, G's appear to be made by a person attempting to achieve a goal whereas LD's appear to be made by a person attempting to achieve a vision.

wisdom, good pics and review and cool jeans. I really like the double rear beltloops split over the centerline that LD uses. I know it's not unique to them, but it's one thing that always looks "right" about their jeans.

Wisdom, nice pics and thanks for the review. Once again, G really nails fabrics for me -- but it looks like construction on the LD pair is superior hands down. I'm stoked.

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if there is a low rise option for the men or would i have to custom order it? I have two pair of jeans from lawless and the mid rise doesn't fit me very well. I am short and low rise has been great fit for me, 5'4.

What color stitching is that on the Tan's? And, is that a true representation of the color? They look more khaki than tan in the pics

There might be a charge but you would have a custom fit. Not many brands give you this option.

Hey, oatwilly - The color is more or less accurate. The Tan/Tans come out looking like a light khaki, almost like how I imagine the Cone Naturals would look, but less "raw" and similar to those light khaki Dockers I've seen around. I used the "Golden Wheat" color and copper hardware. I'm on day two of the Tan/Tans and day three of the workshirts and absolutely cannot wait to get more of LD's goods. I'm super stoked about the pipeline of LD goods coming my way and kind'a wished I ordered more jeans earlier on to reserve my place in their ordering queue. I feel really fortunate that I nailed the sizing on LD on the first try.. I always felt somewhere between a 29 and 30 in G's, but the LD 30 jeans and Small workshirts feel like they were designed just for me. For those folks with thinner waists that are somewhere between a 29 and 30 G, the LD 30 will probably fit you perfectly.

On the LD jeans, I really like the 2 back belt loops instead of one on Gustin's. I think it distributes the stress on the belts much better.

I want to note that G has this on 38 and above. I was surprised to see it when I upsized x2 for the loomies. I think it should be standard. *also loves it*

Are the international shipping getting any revision this year? Shipping for a shirt is 35 USD. Almost the same as the shirt. Adding a pair of jeans bumps it up to 70 USD. Quite a bummer. KS shipping was 20 USD for USPS international priority. Any chance you guys could combine the costs?
